>hail, the meters work and I've never been ripped off.

You need to talk to my American friend who lives part time in Copacabana and was mugged on the beach at Ipanema but has never had a problem in Copacabana. Fellow readers, please do not let these facts scare you into thinking Rio is crazy dangerous. As has been said many times in these threads, take reasonable precautions and go enjoy this fabulous place. (When living in New York I was held up going into my Gramercy Park apartment and tied up - coming back from the grocery store. It happens in cities all over the world.)

RE: UGLY AMERICANS

I debated weighing in on this as I usually limit my posts to talking about the "boys" and don't get into the discussions about how someone is perceived by some of the queens on this board. Saying that, let me say, I met LAshowbiz last week for the first time, as we are going to be in Rio at the same time. I found him to be a very nice guy, probably alot younger then most of the guys posting on this site, and being in the business he's in, maybe has a different perspective on what is/does impress people. He is definitly not racist(He actually is a member of a minority group!) He is someone who has been sucessful at a young age, so cut him some slack, remember what you said or did that you would have changed now that you are a few years older! I don't own any of the named products myself, while sucessful I am more of a Jeans and T type guy, but I understand how everyone is different. So let's get this thread back to the original questions and talk about how great Rio is !!!!

RE: You've had too many shots

>>traveller, it seems to at least me and my brazilian friends

>that the only one who can be justly accused of "ugly"

>behavior is you. you seem pretty quick to judge brazilians

>as victims to fit yr agenda, and you seem equally quick to

>condemn yr fellow american respondents as well. where does

>that leave you??

Dude,

If you'll read my post, it was not my view, but that of friends and acquaintances; and, as I thought I pointed out in my post, I didn't agree with it. Have one less caipirinha before you post next time.

Later.

Too many questions

Well, all of you that have been to rio have you ever try the agencies for escort services? http://www.queroumencontro.com/agapollus/renato/index.htm

:-))))) (the only one i found attractive and somewhat close to my taste)

And what about sexdreams.com.br ?

Has a huge listing of "casais" which i find it very tempting and much preferred than guys alone. These '"casais" are for real or fake? are they playing safe? They are located in Sao Paulo. The scene in Sao Paulo is more erotic than in Rio?

I wonder who's gonna answer all these questions

RE: Too many questions

Coolguy, what you alluded to in your response should have been a separate thread for those of us who are completely oblivious by what you conveyed about the c...'s in Sao Paulo. No, you don't have too many questions, you have a thread which should have stood alone by itself for answers!:-)

RE: Too many questions

This probably SHOULD be a separate thread, but "casais" means "couples" and yes, the scene is SP is somewhat different than in Rio. Sampa is not a beach town; it's the second or third largest city in the world and it's a business, industrial and cultural center. The escort scene caters more, I suppose, to men who work (married or not), many of whom may just be in town on a business trip and are free from whatever may be tying them down back home. SP has been called the "Latin Manhattan," and there's a lot of truth in that, not just because of all the skyscrapers, but because in many ways the gay scene in SP comes closest to resembling that of NY or some European cities than does Rio's, or the scene in other Brazilian cities. SP, to some degree, offers the kind of sex clubs and something of a leather and fetish scene that hardly exist elsewhere in Brazil.

As for specifics about these agencies, I've never used them myself so I can't comment. If anyone has experience, please start a new thread on São Paulo agencies, OK? :-)
