Hey fellas, any word on the scene in Budapest?

I know the rentboy websites for Budapest, but what's the on-the-ground situation, e.g. bars, pick-up venues, saunas, etc?

I was in Budapest in November 2004 so this isn't up-to-date.

 

There was evidence of "boys" cruising the Duna Korso, around and beyond the Marriot, but the weather was cold and wet so there weren't many and none were good enough to whet my appetite.

 

The main rentboy bars seemed to be Darling and Arkadia, which are still listed on "Budapest Gay Visitor" but another site suggests they've closed, see

I don't believe it's right to give a whole nationality a "bad name" but Romanian "street" boys don't enjoy a good reputation in Europe. I was "pursued" by one in Darling, who wouldn't take "no" for an answer and rather spoilt the atmosphere.

 

Might be better to look on gayromeo or escupido for independents or the agencies (see links above, which of course are more expensive than "street" level or independents)
