Prague is so overrated and so ridiculously expensive. Tourists are fed and they buy into the "Paris of the 30s" myth. For what they're charging, I'd spend my money in Paris. If someone is going to give me a bad service, I'd rather get it from a Parisian than a Czech. Plus, you can never trust Prague cab drivers. Even the mayor of Prague, who once disguised himself as an Italian tourist, was overcharged by a cab driver. Also, don't go to Prague thinking you'll meet Bel Ami types; those types have moved to Western European cities of London, Amsterdam, Madrid, etc.

Spain is still affordable. You can get a very good bottle of wine in a restaurant for 10 to 15 euros.

The prices that you're seeing for Prague on the internet (around 150 Euros per hour) are higher than the rates at the clubs and "on the street."

In fact there is quite a range, from 1000 Crowns for "station boys," to 3500 Crowns for the top guys at Escape. Most guys at Club Temple(formerly Pinos) go for somewhere in between, e.g. 2500 Crowns (now about 95 Euros). All of this depends on the guy, the competition on a given night, and your negotiating skills.

One significant difference between the internet and the club rates is that the guys who work the clubs usually spend at least a couple of hours with you, and for a small increment will usually do overnights.

For more information, this thread on another site might be helpful:

If that link doesn't work, just go directly to the site, which has other helpful information (although the forums are plagued with bitchy contributors): http://www.malemodels.cz/

As I said, "the (malemodels.cz)forums are plagued with bitchy contributors."

I also mentioned in a different thread that:

"There is a lot of negative commentary about the current quality and quantity of guys in Prague, but most of it seems to come from nostalgic folks who visitied it a decade or more ago, when it was still isolated, and apparently loads of hot young guys were throwing themselves at you for next to nothing."

The thread you keyed on is typical of these attitudes.

It is true that on a bad night Club Temple (aka Pinos) can be very slow, and a little depressing. But on other nights there can be a big crowd, and a good number of decent guys available. BTW, about 9 months ago a young American guy took over, and has really improved the place. He also seems to be imposing a zero tolerance policy on drugs.

If you go to the forum for Escape Club, you will see lots of entries from clients whose experiences there have been uniformly positive, as have mine. And as you can see from the thread I posted, punters are still able to find good guys available at low rates in the regular clubs, as well.

It's ridiculous to say that "all of the Czeck guys are out of it," or that the scene is riddled with drugs. Most of the guys working in these clubs are Czecks or Slovaks, with a few Romanians as well. I've never encountered any Prague RBs drugged out, but just basically normal guys.

I understand that the drugs are an issue with the so-called "station boys," who are at the bottom end of the RB market for a reason, i.e. they are generally gypsies addicted to pervitin who work out of the main train station. If there is any "danger" on the Prague RB scene, it comes from some of these guys, but some foreign punters seem attracted to them for precisely that reason.

So the thread you've linked to is definitely an overly negative depitction of Prague, IMHO. But I'd be interested to see what other members of this forum who have been to Prague think.

BTW, I forgot to mention another place in Prague. I've never been there, but I understand they have a loyal clientele: http://www.villa-mansland.eu/

Very helpful - thanks.

To be clear, I am not really into skinny twinks - I prefer more athletic guys - not bodybuilders by any stretch but well proportioned guys - but for sure not skinny 18yo twinks with little or no definition etc...is what i am looking for in prague as well? i see it on the sites like william higgins but not sure if it is realistic to find myself there?

There certainly are a lot of the skiny twink types that you don't like on the Prague scene, and there are virtually no built muscle guys like in the Brazilian saunas, but my experience is that there are generally some guys who fit the description of what you're looking for.

But judge for yourself look at the sites to get a better idea.

Scroll down on this Escape page to see some of their regulars:

Or go to Prague on the http://www.erados.com site. (I highly recommend Aalan26 there).

Jakobsen said it all in his posting which is quoted above. I have been to Prague several times and do enjoy it. However, to call it the Parish of the East is ridiculous. Budapest deserves that title much more. The boys we have been sold by the movie industry as Czech are mostly from Bratislava. Hungarians appear to be much better in several respects, including looks. Perhaps that is where you should aim your hunt.
