Saunas in Madrid

I am thinking of having a short city break in the above city as a change from Barcelona (a City I love)

Has anybody any up to date information on the gay Sauna in Madrid (The Aden) I would like to go there a couple of evenings.Is it as good as the Gay Sauna in Barcelona Casonova? which I have always had a good time when ever I have visited there

 

Also are there Bars with Escorts in Madrid?

I have been to Adan once last october and I was quite happy.

 

The place per se is not the best and cleanest sauna you could go to, but the day I went there was a BIG selection of very hot men, mostly brasilians/latinos, a few moroccans and bulgarians.

 

Every guy is very keen to approach you and "show" you his goodies so you can choose.:9

A bit like a candy store!

 

That afternoon I had 3 gorgeous men (one by one and during the 3 hours I spent there) for a total of 100 Euros.

They have free rooms which are a little claustrophobic, but for an extra few Euros (3-5, can't remember) you can bring your "date" to a larger and a bit more confortable cabine.

 

I have no experience with similar places in Barcelona or the mythical ones in Brasil, but mine at Adan was very rewarding.

 

I went also to Sauna "Principe" (no escorts) but I hated it.

 

I will be again in Madrid in Novembre and I can't wait to go again to Adan!

Better late than never for this reply hope some find it useful.

 

I was in Madrid at the end of September and spent a few nights at Adan. I'll say up front that I don't speak a word of Spanish and while it caused some problems overall I had no real issues.

 

My feelings are mixed - on the one hand the sauna building itself is pretty awful - small, old, rundown. The cabins are tiny and they aren't particularly clean. Condoms are not provided by the venue nor is lube. They have a bar with steep but not extortionate prices but no food.

 

On the plus side - its right outside the Metro station in a central and safe part of town and very easy to find. Its 12 euro entry which also gets you free entry to 2 normal saunas on the same day (never went so can't report). The staff were almost without exception polite friendly and helpful. For 6 euro an hour you can hire a private cabine which is much bigger, are kept cleaner and they will give you a sheet to put on the vinyl mattress - well worth it - they also have porn playing.

 

But the important stuff is the boys. As with all places of this type the quality of the guys varies - most are South Americans and most are gay for pay and most are active only - a variety of types most in their twenties and most pretty good looking tending towards the good body not so good face types. Few speak any English though I managed OK. Starting rate for negotiations tended to be around 50-60 euros and I paid between 30 and 50 depending (the guy for 30 wasn't worth it). The guys all seem to know each other and I found that the vibve between them was fairly friendly and most would take a polite no when given.

 

Over 4 different nights I went with a few different guys who ranged from the truly awful (couldn't stay hard but I gave him 20 and we called it quits with no unpleasantness which was OK by me) to the not bad (1 guy with an amazing body but kept upping the price for each new thing in the middle of it which turns me off) to the good (short little ecuadorian guy who was the only bottom I found who was pretty good, great kisser except he hadn't cleaned himself out properly) to the very very good 1) Hungarian guy who only had a small dick but knew how to use it and was so good looking and sweet despite no english 2) Venezualan called Rick who wasn't that pretty but who kissed brilliantly and had a nicely sized uncut dick that felt amazing - he gave me his phone number but the language barriers made calling a bit silly. The clientele is mostly Spanish and mostly in the 50+ bracket. Busy times were from about 4-30 in the afternoon till about 8.

 

I guess the advice I'm giving is that its probably going to be about as good as you let it be for yourself. Compared to London the prices are a bargain but it is what it is and you have to take your chances and use your common sense. Good advice I was given is that if the guy doesn't show some interest first forget him and move on. Also 40-50 euro isn't much and trying to bargain down will probably just end up with a nasty experience for you.

 

On a further note the Black and White Bar in Chueca (just near the Metro) seemed to be a rent boy hang out as well though it won't get started till about 2 in the morning (Madrid is a late late party town). I didn't try and hire anyone from there but I had a stunning looking Brazillian guy offer his equally hot friend for hire for 150 euro but I think that was tourist prices as the boys were mostly the same ones from the sauna. I reckon probably around the 80 mark would be closer to the right price.

I was at Adan again in November 2006, but never been to Thermas.

My experience at Aden was recent (see an earlier post in this thread) and my only complaint was that it really is very grotty - though saying that the atmosphere is good. I have been to Thermas in Barcelona but it was a few years ago and my experiences were mostly very good, although it too was a bit run down.

 

When I was at Aden in September I was talking to another customer who, was living in Madrid but travelled to Barcelona to visit Thermas fairly regularly. It has apparently been recently renovated and is now very nice. His opinion was that the boys were about the same but that Thermas is a nicer place and a bit more relaxed.

 

I think that if you have been to the old Thermas you will find Aden is about the same, only smaller and they don't serve food though there is a bar.

 

As for the boys - its a bit hard to say as it will vary so much from night to night, but if you like muscular latino men you'll be fine at Aden (though finding someone who will bottom is not easy, esp if you don't speak Spanish)

Having been the original poster on this thread and having tried both Saunas last year I would say with out a doubt Thermas in Barcelona is far the better of the two saunas mentioned with better facilites and a lot cleaner.

 

However if any body is in Madrid the Aden sauna is well worth a visit.
