There are several gay run/friendly hotels and all are fairly small and get booked up well in advance during high season (August plus a week or two either side) Some have block bookings by gay travel companies, especially in the UK so depends when you are going. Outside of high season, Sitges is fairly quiet unless there is an gay event. Earlier in the summer it still gets pretty busy but that is mostly the better off Spanish from Barcelona going there for the weekend. Barcelona is close and quick to get to on the train. Rememebr this is northern Spain so it gets pretty cool and wet in the winter and early spring.

You might like to note because of this it is better to book midweek to midweek rather than risk the hotels being full. If you have trouble getting into the gay hotels, do not be tempted to book one of the big "interntional" ones. Go instead for a room in something like a pension. These may be fairly basic but offer good value if the dollar goes down. Ironically because they go for more traditional furniture and tile or stone floors rather than carpeting, they are often cooler in the summer without the need for AC than the bigger ones that get stuffy because of the closed windows for the AC.
