I had a strange experience in London last week. I contacted an escort who lists independantly and through Suitedandbooted.com. Although I asked for his rate by email, he did not reply. When I called an hour before our hook-up he informed me that his rate was 150 Pounds which is the standard agency rate. I offered 120 Pounds the standard independant rate. He declined to come at that rate so I cancelled. Who was right? Who was wrong?

Don't know if this is a "right" or "wrong" issue; you both did what you felt comfortable with doing.

 

I've noticed that several London escorts advertise with agencies (often 2 or more) and also work independently. Two that I have been with and contacted on their own charged me 100 and 120 pounds respectively, certainly less than the advertised agency rate.

 

I can understand and appreciate that agencies do charge more. Nothing wrong with trying to meet the overhead. I personally believe, however, that if I contact an escort independently, then he shouldn't be charging what an agency charges.

 

Ultimately, the escort sets the price and we can either accept or decline. However, given that there are many many fine escorts in London, perhaps competition will make this escort wake up to economic reality.

Seems like a normal business interaction - you offering to cut out the middle man and normally this should result in sharing out their cut between the parties. The escort chose not to offer this, which is his prerogative, but is a fairly aggressive "take it or leave it" business approach.

 

As the previous correspondent stated, there is no right or wrong - simply a question of whether the number of potential clients put off by this approach is a problem for the escort or not.

 

For my part, I have been with many escorts who also advertise on Suited and Booted, and none have charged the agency rate.
