Madrid and Bilbao

I am headed this way shortly and have visited Madrid but over 10 yrs ago. What are the strip bars like there? There seem to be quite a few in the gay area from what I have read. What escort sites do you recommend? I have checked out arrowmen.com and morbotatl.com so as well as angels website. Olimpo will not open for me so if you have some addresses let me know. I would appreciate all advice!!!

Someone left an interesting post on here about Madrid, I think it was on 1st January but since the format was changed I haven't worked out how to look in the archives! He described (in 'second language' english') how he'd been to Madrid and visited all sorts of 'house of boys' places and Saunas etc, complete with addresses, phone numbers and websites.

I know some guys that work in those places and they all say business is on the floor at the moment so you should have plenty to choose from.

The best known place is the 'Black & White Bar' right in Chueca, the gay district. The bar is in the centre of the building and the boys all walk round and round in circles. I've met some nice ones there. It doesn't open until 10.30 and nothing much happens for the first hour.

Thanks. I guess 11:30pm is typical for spanish hours. Do you know anything of the other gay stripper bars in Madrid as there are several listed in Spartacus, but could be out of date.

If by 'stripper bar' you mean a place where people pick up rent boys the only other one I know of (also in Chueca) is 'A noite'. This is a rather seedy place which has tiny little booths in the back where the boys take the clients for a quick blow job, as far as I know. You tend to get hassled in there by guys who look as if they should have retired from that business some time ago. B&W is much better, althought they don't have any rooms or booths on the premises so you usually take the guy back to your hotel. The going rate is 100 euros per hour.

Just back from Spain and I thought I would share with all some of my experiences. Chueca area is definitely the gay area but it is restrainted, not very cruisy in the day time or night. La Noite and LL are two happening bars but both were quite when I visited. I saw no shows as they must be held on some mysterious schedule. However Black & White bar which does not open till around 10pm is the place to go, still! I was there on Saturday night, and again Monday. It is indeed slow till around 11:30 and suddenly picks up almost instantly around midnight. There were many rentboys there, many small, slim, swimmers types (not my type) but there were a very few more muscular types. Each night I engaged one of them, despite language problems, and the experienes cost about 100E-120E each unless you are more generous. Neither experience was as satisfing as I would have expected or hoped for given the Spanish macho image. However, they were safe and honest guys so I had no need to worry about being robbed as one does on the subway or streets.

 

The civil authorities advertise Madrid as safe, and it is except for the pic-pockets which are everywhere. Beware and do not carry a fat wallet with you anywhere at anytime!

 

Bilbao is a pleasant city but dead. There is only one reason to go there and that is to see the striking Guggenheim Museum by Frank Gherey. This is worth the trip in itself.
