On my recent visit to London I found a competitor for Villa Gianni: The Universe. It is in an attractive small house near Earls Court. I visited, tried out the offerings, had a good time, and would recommend it.

 

It has the same setup as VG -- a mirrored door to view the cast and crew, and nicely appointed rooms for the encounter ime.

 

The standard rate for 1 hour is £70. I am told that the boys get half.

I've now had a chance to try out Universeboys, at 34, Kenway Road, Earls Court. It’s in a nice little Victorian house, still being redecorated, with a comfortable entrance lounge with the usual one-way window into the boys’ room. A very agreeable receptionist told me that in a couple of weeks’ time they’re going to start a regime with ten boys on from midday to 5, and another ten from 5 to midnight - so if you wanted to, you’ll be able presumably to have three different fucks a day for six days and two on Sunday! He keeps an album of photographs of available boys to add to the pictures on his web-site, and said that I could order anyone I wanted in advance (there’s a goodlooking Malaysian boy I’m looking forward to meeting). This has probably been previously clarified on this site, but I don't recall the answer.

 

As they are clearly running a male brothel - is it legal in England, or is there the danger of a police raid and possible arrest.

 

Being arrested in a foreign country would not exactlly make my vacation memorable - Hmmmmm or would it?

Theoretically illegal, but I've been going to similar establishments here for twenty years with no trouble - even seen the police inside, once or twice, making enquiries . . . I guess they wink the eye!

This has been explained to me several times -- the latest by the proprietor of Universe. I am thick and still may not have it right. But here goes....

 

As I have come to understand it -- granted that my legal tutors in this matter are interested parties -- under British law, it is illegal to solicit sex for money, illegal to set up an establishment which solicits sex for money, but not illegal to take money for sex when it is offered without actual (as opposed to virtual) solicitation. Got that? Clear as mud? I'm confused too.

 

VG and Universal can set up encounters for massage, etc., and take money, and "share" it with the lad, who by the way is not actually an employee but is in fact more or less just "there" to help the client relax. So whatever happens between the client and the lad is between them, and the money is a fee for the use of space and the provision of a glass of orange juice, etc.

I was at both places a few days ago and both are nice, clean and as discribed. I have the feeling business is slow at both, and the Universe may not survive. On Sat nite, they let all but 3 of the guys go home early, I would say around 11:30 so when I got arrived at that time, there were only 3 and none that turned my crank. Still I will check it out on my next visit to London.

After seeing his picture on their website, I booked an hour with 'Joe'. He must have put on a fair bit of weight since the pictures were taken , and he was unpleasant and unfriendly. Universe Club on Kenway Road.

 

I was back at Universe House again last week, but there were very few guys working, in fact only three, 2 of which were british ordinary!! One was quite the hunk, Mark from Hungary I think. So I decided to take a pass at which time the "manager" came out as I was being escorted to the door by the gorgeous floorman, Nicola. The Manager was quite aggressive and pushy to me as to why I was not hiring one of the 3 guys, and he started to try to "sell" them to me, very aggressively. This really turned me off, as I has explained to the floor man that I was not interested at that time, and frankly tired as I had just gotten off a transcontinental flight. I was simply passing by and thought I would take a look for future reference for that evening. This whole incident left me with the feeling of a manager who was a real hustler and a place that was in trouble!!! Why such a pushy approach? The Enron of London? Pity as it has such potential. As a result, I did not go back as I could not bear facing this kind of aggression from the so-called manager. He should learn to leave it all in the capable hands of the dishy Nicola, who I would take home or anywhere anytime.

I just left a message on "rent muscle in Paris" and this proves my point. These kind of brothels take avantage of the customer and especially the boys. Who ever heard of receiving £35 for sex and then having the customer complain about the boys being overweight or not having enough choice.If you want good food, don't eat at Macdonalds! My gawd!! They work in these places because they cannot make it on their own, so they settle for the bargain basement. You won't find a salesmen at Armani working at Marks and spencer. Hang on - wait a mo.! You can have unfortunate experienced anywhere, and this was an unlucky one. I have had a very good time with gorgeous boys here (incidentally, £70, not £30); and it's certaionly no true that the boys who work here and at Villagianni don;t do so because they can't make it elsewhere - it's often just because they can't work from home, for one reason or another. Don't dismiss the whole thing because of one unfortunate expereince.

I had a negative experience with Universe last week. I called a few days back to make an appointment with Erik, a gorgeous muscular Mexican hunk advertised on their site. When I got to London, I confirmed the appointment (and was actually treated somehow rudely on the phone). I was greeted at the house by a very nice muscular hunk, who said he was one of the managers (I didn't catch his name but, as per the previous description, he must be Nicola...yummy!). He said Erik was available, and took me to a nice, bright room. The moment the hired boy entered the room, I sensed something was fishy: he didn't look like his pictures at all: he was ugly and flabby and, the cherry on the cake...he had a HUGE attitude. He told me he was Brazilian. In spite of my misgivings, not wanting to be rude (how stupid of me!), I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He gave me an OK massage, in a very unfriendly mood. Ten minutes later, he told me "I don't suck". I then asked to see the manager. Nicola (if Nicola it was) said that there were TWO Eriks on their website. He explained that, when making the booking, his partner "must have forgotten" to mention it and had made the appointment with the Brazilian instead of the Mexican, who would be available some days later (after my departure from London, of course!). After a brief discussion, I gave him part of the fee, told him it was obviously a hoax and terrible business practice, and left.

 

Back home, I checked their website: the only Erik is the gorgeous Mexican who, I'm afraid, must not work there. I learned my lesson, and will stick to Villa Gianni, where I have had several very good experiences.....

I rest my case. The "houses" get the leftovers who cannot make it in the business by themselves. I don't know what they must look like in order to get kicked out of a hotel, but I have never seen that happen in 10 years. Anyway, it's very simple. The boys working in these places are not professional enough to maintain a career with outcalls or to have a place to go for incalls. The final result leaves the customer with the leftovers. Pick up any gay publication and you will find hundreds of escorts who earn a good living , by offering top service. It's logical that someone who offers their services for 35 pounds merits working that end of the market, but the customer is still paying 70 pounds or more and is faced with a manager who tries to pressure him into taking someone. I worked in those places in London before escorting ads became big. The boys had to suck up to the manager, even give him kickbacks or drugs in order for him to "sell" you. Anyway, these bordels have a place in London and for those who like them that's fine;but I repeat don't complain when the guys don't look like their pics or when you don't have a choice of boys. You've chosen the end of the market that is one step above King's cross, so accept the fact that you get what you pay for!!!

Well, all I can say is that with Villagianni and its predecessor Earls Court Clinique you are right out of order! - the boys I have found there have had great charm and physical attractiveness, and a couple of them - certainly the famour Loi, of the Clinique, have been among the best I've had either from houses or as out-calls. I had a similar experience with Joe. He was certainly not as young as his photos, and was unbelievably rude. He also stated that he did not do massage..
