The polls on Proposition 8 itself show a small margin opposing it - that is, opposing taking our equality away - but polls on past initiatives have always understated support for anti-LGBT initiatives, so we can not rest on our laurels. That's not something our opponents are good at, so we should congratulate them when they really try.

There's an excellent documentary that shows that some conservative christian families not only "tolerate" their gay children; some of them actually start to champion for their rights.
