I, like quite a few others, have been disappointed with the number of reviews as well. As for the reason, I would say it is a combination of four factors… the summer doldrums, the economy, and most importantly competition from other sites. Also, I think that there is a psychological factor at work regarding the perception one gets from the site in general. Other sites seem to have more pizazz and generate a sense of excitement. Daddy’s seems staid and old-fashioned in comparison. Consequently, in spite of its recent revamping, an overhaul of this site might be considered to make it look more up-to-date and in tune with the Twenty-first Century… especially as regards the Message Center.

 

Still, for ease of use I find this site still the best available… so hopefully things won’t be tampered with too much…

I used to hire much more frequently than I do now. I have also chosen not to review several escorts since the encounters were not necessarily worthy of a reivew.

 

In addition, I haven't done a lot of travel out of the DC area to see escorts (since not a lot has caught my eye out of town) and the escorts in DC leave a lot to be desired...

 

It's a variety of factors - don't give Daddy a hard time about it...

Also, I submitted a negative review (handle = Cheap Violin) recently that was never posted. I've written about 15 reviews over the years.

 

Why take the time and effort to write a review if it's going to end up in the trash bin?

 

We're frequently reminded that this is a free site, see Rick's remark.

However, this site also depends on free content supplied by it's participants.

I have written quite a few lengthy and detailed reviews and have gotten compliments from some of the readers here. The escorts have gotten more exposure and takers in return.

 

Yesterday there were three reviews; the same goes for today. When I read the review of today's "Coverboy...," I immediately thought that I would begin yet another thread about the content of far too many of the reviews that are submitted. But this particular thread has solved that for me.

 

I found today's main review to be quite insipid and vapid. Although it gave me a quick read, it did not give me anything else because of its acute general presentation. It would not lead me to hire the guy who was reviewed!

 

When a guy sees an escort, at least he could write a clear review that contains some substance, as some of the five or six paragraph reviews of the past have led me to see those very interactive, talented escort.

 

So, I would like to see at least six or more reviews per day (if possible), and I'd hope that each would relate details.

Sorry. I admit to being mad at the world last night when I posted. Further, I know from personal experience that hiring is down, so Reviews would be too.

 

But the flip side should be that there are more guys looking into "The Biz", which should generate more Reviews.

I know this won't be a popular view on the forum, but I would just like to thank "Daddy" for the reviews that are posted.

 

I know that a while back there was a thread that actually criticized some of the reviews that were written....I should have said something then, but I'll say it now--I appreciate any review: short, ambiguous, "whatever," and it helps me just to know whether or not there is a "yes" in the: Hire again, matched description, lived up. If there is a "no" in one of those allotted slots, I'll read the whole review. Otherwise, I don't usually read the whole review until the individual is in my local area.

i use to post more reviews but have not lately because:

1)i tend to hire the same guys where we feel very comfortable together that we can finish each others sentences. two of the guys are long retired but still see me because of our relationships, the other is still going strong but i have reviewed him a few times over the years and another review would not add much (jon ramsey).

 

2)i hired a new guy in late winter during a trip to new york and it was not published?

 

3)some of the new guys i hire are well reviewed and another would not add anything; for example, a few weeks ago i hired jay that is reviewed here under hollywood in california. he was fabulous. great looks and body, very into sex (he got me off orally which was only the third time that has ever happened), seemed to be intelligent (we had a two hour meeting and i did not give him a test but besides it is hard to talk with your mouth full). jay's existing reviews all pretty musch say the same thing.

 

4)some escorts do not want reviews as they try to maintain a low profile because of their regular life. last november i had a great time with aden rush in chicago and he did not want a review; at that time, he had not advertised in a few years but had him listed on my to do list. someone here was able to give me a current contact. he was great. i did notice that he recently started advertising again so it maybe that the economy would have him back as a more active escort and he would now want a review but for me it is too late to make one.

 

5)if an escort is only "OK" and not bad or not wonderful then there is not much to say so he is not "escort review worthy".

 

6)sometime things get away from me and i don't get around to it. earlier this year i had a wonderful experience but i was traveling on business and it was my busiest time of year and i just did't have time. in this case, the guy has a number of good reviews and i could only add "ditto". the guy was devon roff in gainsville florida who came down to do an overnight with me in orlando. he was one great overnight guest (for anyone who wants to hire a duo, i suggest pairing him and jay in hollywood; it would be nonstop sex).

 

bottom line, i am part of the problem; i'll try to post more reviews.

You might check the date of such guys' most recent reviews -- if they haven't been reviewed in a while, learning that they're still around and still great is useful, even if you write no more than "saw him last week and he's still as good as his past reviews indicate."

There was another thread somewhere that asked why so few negative reviews are being posted - I guess if people are now willing to post only positive reviews, that immediately reduces the total number of reviews that will appear.

 

In that discussion, someone commented that he had stopped posting negative reviews because of the fall-out - including the usual complaints from the escort in his rebuttal that the client was smelly/old/fat/had bad breath etc. There was a classic example of this just the other day - the negative review on 08/18/2008 of Marcello of London was met with a laughable response from the escort including comments about the client's "higene" (sic).

 

It is interesting that in the message board discussion of that review and response, someone comments that they too had had a poor experience with this escort. Er - so where is his review of it? If an escort gets a succession of poor reviews and accuses all of his critics of being old/fat/smelly etc etc then we are all going to see the escort for what he is.

 

And if more people posted negative reviews, this site might become interesting again - and there'd be more reviews.
