I read the reviews daily, and noticed there is hardly ever a negative review. Actually, I found the negative reviews from the old site rather entertaining. There were a few that amazed me, particularly of a young guy who ripped off a few clients by insisting on the money upfront, then leaving. His career as an escort was ended.

Do clients refrain from a negative review out of embarrassment? Does the site not post them? I always try to do a review, positive or negative. And I realize escorts can either do their own reviews or have a friend do them.

The fact is that a client's bad experience can be used to either improve the escort's job performance, or convince him to hand in his lube and find a day job.

I have what basically ammounts to a photographic memory. I have noticed that on Men4RentNow that negative reviews for some escorts have vanished. One person went from "Two Stars" to "Four Stars" and his "No Shows" vanished from his reviews. One wonders how the escorts "negotiated" this?!?!?

Joey Milano, an excellent porn escort out of Palm Springs, told me once during sex that he did get a "3" stars out of "4" stars on the men4sexnow website. He decided to deleted all his reviews, and start over. Apparently they can do that on that site, which is why I never give it much credance.

Another escort, Justin out of SF, whom I believe no longer escorts, got a negative review. He wrote a response, but "didn't write it good" and therefore contacted the old site and threatened suicide. Apparently that worked, and his review was removed. Actually he wasnt't that bad, but he clearly needed help. I felt really sorry for him, submitted a bland review to Hoo Boy's, which was never published. I am glad, for his sake, he's out of the business.

Contrary to popular belief, escorts need to be more confident and emotionally stable to be sucessful.

Men4RentNow allows escorts to "manage" their reviews, i.e. delete unfavorable ones. Says all you need to know about reviews on that site.

Kevin- Sounds like the people who run Men4rentnow may have worked for the Bush administration at one time.

If you submit a negative "star" review to m4rn, the escort can have that review removed - they can have two reviews removed per twelve months. However, if you submit a written review to m4rn, the escort CANNOT have that review removed. I submitted a "one star" review and noticed within one week it had been removed. I e-mailed the webmaster of m4rn and above was the response.

most of the massage sites i pay too be on lets us manage our reviews up to some point. some will let you delete 1 negative review every 3 months some will let people get 3 bad reviews b4 they start posting any negative ones. i think its mostly because we pay for these ads they they dont want too risk that people will cancel after a negative review is posted..

I think on some level having to many reviews can look bad. Iv been doing massage 10 years and in 10 years i have 14 to 16 reviews. i see some guys working 4 years with 70 to 80 reviews.. I'm always suspicious of those types of ads.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the initial post on this thread was general and referred to reviews on this site as well as those on others.

I began posting reviews here about five years ago. At that time I was hiring numerous different escorts with considerable frequency. I hire fewer different guys now because I use a small group of regulars. During all this time I have NEVER posted a negative review.

Fortunately for me I encountered this site prior to my first hire. I did a considerable amount of research which included locating guy in whom I might be interested here and on other sites; ie. rentboy, men4rent, executivemaleescorts, and studfiles to name just a few. I made a point of NOT hiring any escort who was NOT reviewed positively HERE. Over the years I have hired dozens of different escorts and I have NEVER had a bad experience.

If I remember correctly we recently had a thread here regarding mediocre experiences. In this area I must admit I have been remiss. I have always attributed mediocre experiences to “poor chemistry”, off days, or unreasonable expectation on my part. After reading that thread I realized that others had experienced some of the same mediocre get-togethers with the same escorts that I had. It would certainly have been helpful to have known of these mediocre experiences prior to doing my own hiring. From now on when I hire an escort and the experience is just mediocre I will write a review and say just that.

I don't want to beat a dead whatever, and it really doesn't matter,

but:

"Dear Sir, Our members can only remove 2 reviews. The text part of any review can not be removed. You are welcome to log on and do another review of this escort.--Please Note that --You should also click on text review and after entering his username write a text review. He can't delete a text review and he wouldn't be able to delete another review if you were to post a second. Our reviews are legit --we give you and the advertisers fair time and space for this process--

Have a great day, Customer Service Men 4 Rent Now"

>"Dear Sir,

LOL I love the "Dear Sir." That's because men4rentnow is run out of India and they use textbook English when communicating with us. That "Dear Sir" can be annoying if you have an ongoing series of emails with them. After the third consecutive "Dear Sir," I asked if they could either use my name or nothing at all, because "Dear Sir" is what you use when you don't know the person's name or just want to be really formal. The response was, "Dear Sir..." :p

Hope it's OK for a client to respond to this thread.

I've written several reviews for this site and a few on other sites. I personally don't write a review of every encounter and only submit one when: 1) The escort hasn't been reviewed before; or 2) It has resulted in an exceptional appointment. I have never submitted a negative review.

There have been numerous instances when I really wanted to tell the truth about a bad encounter. But, I've never had the balls to do it on this site because of a few posters who play in this sandbox.

I'm not ready to have my negative review analyzed line-by-line and ripped apart in this message center. I also don't want the escort trying to save face by writing a response and trying to turn the tables (and blame) on me. (How many times has the escort responded by claiming the client was a hygienically-challenged, old, fat queen and was a repulsive piece of human s--t?)

I'm not embarrassed about my bad encounters and have willing disclosed my experiences to others in private e-mail or one-on-one conversations. I just don't want to subject myself to some of the cyber bullies who get their jollies out of skewering others.

Another concern I have about writing a negative review is whether it would make any difference at all. For example, within the last 3 months I had a terrible experience with someone who has over 50 positive reviews on this site.

Granted, part of the problem with the session was that we just didn't "click". While the pictures he posts are accurate, he has other features (not in the photos) that just turned me off. Then there was the very loud moaning and yelling out during climax that made me very uncomfortable since we were in a hotel. He was so noisy that I almost expected hotel security to come knocking on the door to make sure someone wasn't being killed or tortured.

Would my single, negative review of this escort make any difference?

And, what about "no shows". I've had several of those with some well-reviewed escorts on this site. But, how do you write a review on something that never happened?

Heaven only knows I'm a very opinionated person. But I just don't feel the environment on most escort review sites are conducive to a writing a negative review. :-(

I am like One Finger. I have had my share of less than favorable outings. Like One Finger I will send a personal response if I see someone come up that I feel should be mentioned. I feel especially challenged to send something in when the escort is extremely popular. Sometimes I am not sure how to write the review when I think it was just a situation where the escort and I were not on the same wave length. Plus I am chicken about my personal life being exposed. I did have one incident where the escort demanded a great review and unfortunately do to some sloppy work on my part he knew my full name and address, something I am extra careful about now. It was an awful outing and would have gladdly castigated the guy on line as Gay for Pay and a real jerk and liar. Yet he has 10 great reviews on line.

Anyway I just preferred not to risk it. However, I decided earlier this year that from now on I would post a negative review if warranted. Too many good escorts out there, that I should not let the bad ones take money away from the good ones.

It's really too bad that we have this "consumer protection" vehicle and yet feel apprehensive about using it. I really do believe, from my own experience, that some escorts have friends do reviews or they do them themselves. For example, my experience with Colby Cruise was really awful, yet his reviews stated he was "better looking that the pictures". The pictures had been airbrushed, which he admitted. In appearance, he was only average, not nearly as defined as his pictures.

His response to me was "you're a bad, bad man". Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to do a review on this site when it happened. I did evaluate him on other review sites. Each review, he emailed me nasty remarks about my "lying" about wanting to top him. Whatever fallout we receive, I believe it's worth the cost to honestly express our opinions. Good escorts, and most of my experience has been with great guys, would accept criticism.

I think the main reason why there are so few negative reviews is that the escort can respond, but there is no way for the client to respond to the escort's response, no matter how untrue or over-the-top it may be. It's also true that many esorts are touchy about anything they perceive as negative even in a generally positive review. One escort, who advertised his "natural, manly scent", was upset when I mentioned that his body odor was rather strong, even though I gave the overall experience high marks. Another complained that I "made him sound like a thug" because I said he kept suggesting he would do more things if I would hire him again. Yet another practically went ballistic when I mentioned that his friendly dog had joined us in bed after the act, and warned clients that if they did not like or were allergic to dogs, they should clarify this with him before the appointment, accusing me of slandering his dog (I made it clear in the review that I liked the dog and didn't mind sharing the bed with him); I found it ironic that there was really negative information about that encounter which I left out of the review, because I thought it might be unfairly misinterpreted by readers. All of these were escorts with multiple positive reviews, and I received private messages here from clients, who reported that they had had other negative experiences with the same escorts, but had been unwilling to write reviews.

I wrote a review of a no-show escort who is one of the most favored of any on this site. He caused me to spend much time and expense then simply did not show. The review was never printed. Unless my review somehow was not prepared or sent correctly (which could be possible), I have to assume that the webmaster of this site decided not to print the accurate review because he liked the escort too much. So if that goes on often, that could be one reason why so few negative reviews are seen on this site.

RE: Negative Escort Reviews --PLEASE WRITE THEM

It makes me very sad to read that so many of us don't post negative reviews for fear of the escort's or the trolls' responses, or because we think a negative review will have no effect when an escort has scores of positive ones here. I'm sad for 2 reasons:

1. I recognize a previous self in such feelings.

2. My first, lousy escort experience (with a well-reviewed traveling escort) would never have happened if others had been willing to be frank -- after the fact I had multiple private emails from clients of his who had had bad experiences similar to my own.

I got over my fears by realizing that, thin-skinned though I am, my reviews are anonymous. Moreover, we can disconnect our reviews from our MC identities if we wish; the handles don't need to be the same.

So, please, please post honest reviews of your bad and your mediocre experiences. Chances are that they are not unique, and your review will encourage others to post theirs as well.

One last point about "bad chemistry". If you felt that, why not say so in your review? I did that once, and then hired the escort again anyway -- and he told me he had read my remarks and explained what in his private life on our previous encounter had led to the bad chemistry. We never had a problem again.

Actually, there's a stated policy about this situation. From the FAQ for "Submitting Reviews":

"I made a date with an escort and he never showed up. How do I let people know he is unreliable?

"In general we look at these on a case-by-case basis. In general we "Hold" these type of reviews because if is very difficult to verify this type of situation."

I guess you could always "review" him in the Deli section of the Forum.

While I do write negative review only under one circumstances that actions are something that should or would likely affect any client. Ie I don't write a negative review if it is something where is was just not my thing or that we didn't click. It has to be an inaction or bad action that caused a bad encounter. Ie Stealing, ripping off, lies or anything unethical in advertising.

and let's not forget Hooboy's take on the matter....

I want to submit a review of an escort. I haven't been with him, but I don't his attitude in his email/phone/voicemail, etc.

Hooboy once said: "Folks, if you didn't eat at the restaurant, I do not think you can write about the sashimi. If you don't like the way the menu looks or if the staff has an attitude problem, move on. Do not try to dish the dish."

RE: Negative Escort Reviews --PLEASE WRITE THEM

Newatthis I understand totally about the fact that a negative review can keep someone from wasting money, but to be honest as you have read I do not want to receive emails and phone calls from the escort who got the bad rap. Now I have taken some steps to sort of hide exactly who I am when I post a review. I have posted a number of good reviews about some great guys to gain some credibility under a different handle.

But sometimes reviews that relate to bad chemistry or not quite up to snuff, but not terrible, they are like restaurants, some people like the food others do not. We each have our own taste in food and men. I just read where someone was upset about a meeting with Colby Cruise, who I believe now advertises under a completely new name and ad. I actually had a great time with him, a bit pricey but still very good. This guy had a bad time with him. Now someone who has nothing but glowing reviews is Bruno Gacho, I had a lousy time and felt he lacked personality or any warmth towards his clients. I just chalked in up to bad personality clash, it happens. Did it bug, yeah, but he has 22 fabulous reviews. I knew if I posted a negative review I would be up for bigtime nit picking and crabbing so why bother.

As I have said I am feeling comfortable about writing negative reviews. The question for you, would you not hire an escort if he had 22 good reviews and only one or two bad ones?

RE: Negative Escort Reviews --PLEASE WRITE THEM

Bart --

My point about "bad chemistry" is that if you include a self-description and some idea of what went wrong from your point of view, it helps prospective clients who may be something like you to make a decision, no matter how many positive reviews the escort has.

Having said that, I do understand that sometimes it's very hard to put your finger on exactly what didn't meet your expectations.

As I've gotten more experienced at this, I tend to view any negative review as a warning sign. It doesn't mean I don't hire, but my investigation is much more thorough beforehand.
