Does anyone know of any serious muscle / bodybuilder escorts that might be available during Black Gay Price in DC later this month? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

(Apologies in advance for the hijack.)

Does anyone other than me feel that a "Black Gay Pride" event is just a little off?

Isn't Gay Pride intended to be an event that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness for GLBT persons?

I'm not complaining or upset, and frankly I'd have to increase my emotional investment in the issue to care all that much. But does anyone else think it strikes the wrong chord somehow?

Write a separate thread addressing the issue. It has always been hoped that "gay pride" could be equated with "inclusiveness" but that just has not happened in these our United States during the past four decades.

I write four decades because the concept of "pride and acceptance" began in the 70s.

That is as much as I shall write. Fellows, answer the guy's query if you can, por favor!

Why withdraw the question? I think it was valid and if it did hijack the thread, so be it - kinda par for the course around here isn't it.

If the same type of question was asked concerning the Democratic nomination mess, we'd be screaming "racist", so why does this question get a pass.

>Why withdraw the question?

As I said in my original question (after apologizing in advance for asking it), I don't have enough emotional investment in the issue to actually care.

>Democratic nomination mess

Wrong analogy.

Better would be "Asian Pride" or "Latin Pride"? And I know for sure there would be waiving of sticks over "Caucasian Pride".

We're *GAY* dammit. All of us. Further segmentation is NOT healthy.

But God forbid we admit it or talk about it. That's not allowed.

Gay Pride has been around in DC since at least the early 90s. Other cities have these celebrations, too. Given that we often situations where the queens and the "straight acting" get along, it's a bit presumptuous to assume that good intentions wipe away the need for more than one pride festival.

Yup. And I participated, even when I was active-duty USMC.

But a skinny white guy (my Doctor's words!) isn't likely to feel welcome at an event billed as Black Gay Pride -- the subject of this thread.

I know it a wrong analogy but the point I was trying to make is that if the word Black is used re BO - you're labeled a racist. But talk about Black gay pride and you get a pass. Go figure.....

Maybe a change of nomenclature would do it! How about calling the big and original one-- The MIXED PRIDE (?) (!) Kinda like Hawaiian Salad -- all the sweet fruits in varying tropical and european flavors, topped with nuts?

Maybe...just maybe that will be all inclusive!

We're gay, but that's not *all we are - we're black, white, Jewish, protestant, Democrats, Republicans - not all gays are alike. No single label totally defines us, nor are we all identical. To say that I'm gay doesn't sum me up.

Not sure that I agree that 'further segmentation is not healthy' - maybe depends on what you mean by 'segmentation'. Being gay doesn't make us all the same.

Just my opinion, as yours is yours :-)

Please answer the guy's question and post your other takes on it in the forum about "Politics."

I have participated in Gay Pride events in San Francisco since the 70s, the initial beginning of the concept.

I've also gone to one of Oakland's Black Gay Pride Celebrations which had a plethora of colors and ethnicities resembling the rainbow flag. The tone and air of the day was PRIDE and all of its ramifications! :-)
