Native American Renewal complete and now on my way to GA in a few hours.

Had a great holiday season celebrating in the deep tradition of my Ancestors. Some context here: None of my relatives were ever on a rez. Great Grandfather did not like what he saw and got his children in a traditional house, dressed in Europen clothing and forbid the from speaking Lakotah outside of the house or talking about the traditions. Still, the traditions and language were passed on from generation to generation by dedicated elders to their respective, "Children". I was educated in those ways by my Grandfather and great Aunt. Soooo.... in the very old ways... I spent my time out in the wilderness with my Wolf, Nanook. Went deep into the old growth forests of the Cascades and went on my journey: a reflection of my starting point as far back as I can remember and up to present date, then reflecting on my present moment "self" and then thinking about where I want to manifest my life from that point. I documented my journey with images and will be posting them on my site http://www.tygerscent.biz

Summery: walked deep into the forest... saw beavers gnawing on vine maples... that led me to their dam... a giant first dam of 100 feet long or so... a second reservoir of 70 feet, (thicker and more stout dam where I think they have their den/hutch...). Went down to the secondary pond and got naked... snow two feet deep... swam in the pond and was greeted by two beavers. They swam some ten feet away from me! Big animals! Curious and playful... though not without some warning splashes with their tails to let me know this was their pond! I swam around and watched them and they watched back. I began taking pictures and they eventually decided the Wolf and I were no threat and watched with wonder... playful together and interested in my undertakings.

The other days I was tracking a Cougar that was roaming near by... a female by the looks and spread of her paw print. By the second day she was tracking us back. No site of her though... Fresh prints ahead and behind me~ Discrete and aware... just watching from afar. I wanted to be sure I was not infringing on her path so, found her trails and then by-passed them.

Final day was New years Day... went some four miles deep into the mountains and then back up the slopes, (45 to 50 degree inclination), and back down deeper. So thick in old growth that the light of day dissappeared. Found an old growth log stump... 10 feet in diameter and up rooted... a small run off creek eroding the earth and exposing the massive roots. A soft matting of bright green moss growing like tinsel from the elder roots. I stood under and took some photos... naked, hard, vulnerable, at peace... in my Element... Man, Animal, an Element of nature... full of Human Industry but also full of simple being... following the Cougar and seeing the Cougar in my own tracks... not succumbing to the force of the high winds but becoming them....not freezing under the chill of the snow or rivers but taking on the nature of the water... rushing down, nurturing, moving the land, moving around it... sifting through the mountains as fog... bathing my surroundings and turning within myself like the silent mist and light rains... taking a physical form os snow... Heavy and gentle all at the same time... part of the air... the earth... water in all of it's forms... studying the Beaver, the Cougar, the wind, the water/snow, the nature of the origins of the forest and finding those Elements within myself. Elemental Tyger: Naked, Exposed, not fearful, Sensual, Sexual, Loving, Nurtured and Nurturing, Heart Pounding anxious to share together the Nature of Life and that Man/Animal nurturing experience together with the people I encounter! Aware of the heat of my breath, the strength and precision of my paws and naked prowess, watchful, observant, founded, present and embracing... playful, industrious... a guarding as well as guide...

A force of nature and a Force of Man.

Posting some of those images on my website but keeping some private.

I did the same thing. Derek and I went to Adelman's Deli on King's Highway in Brooklyn and battled with a mean old lady for the last piece of kugel (unlike your cougar, she was definitely visible, and ironically, wearing a beaver coat). Things got vicious for a while but she calmed down when she saw the chocolate babka, and we all had a good laugh about it. :p

I am honored that you share these pictures with me, my brother. I breathe energy your way.

I have had to put off my visit to my mountains, the Colorado Rockies, for far too long now. But it looks like Maverick and I will be getting there for Memorial Day.

Your clients are blessed by your Renewal.

Hey Rick! Well Thank Goodness she didn't start gnawing at your vine maple~ Or was that later after the laughing part and babka?
