i never would have guessed being new to this entire review site that my simple inquiry about good tops in san francisco (where i am headed in about 3 weeks or so) would bring forth 1045 views and 27 replies in just several days since i first posted. first of all i have read numerous other reviews and replies in other cities where i have recently traveled and i found comments like: "has a face that would stop a bus" so if i offended anyone by comments that i made it was not really intentional or with malice on my part and was to some extent in keeping with comments that i had seen like the comment above. i did, in fact, receive very nice replies back from two of the guys who i was asking about---namely walker and stacks. both wrote me very civil and nice replies back. But i was stunned to hear from any escorts at all. I thought that this was a private site that just clients could use amongst themselves to discuss various escorts and their experiences with the escorts. What then are the escorts themselves doing by jumping into the mix here? Who needs their comments? We are the ones reviewing them and not vice versa. So to sum up why should 8inchtool be allowed to respond at all on a site which is designed to basically review him? Maybe i am misunderstanding the purpose of this deli forum? Anyrate, i did not mean to piss anyone off. I thank Steve Stacks and Jake Walker and 'David whoever' for their replies and wish them well. It is not that i am difficult to satisfy but i do look for exceptionally good looking young men who are well muscled and well built and generally tops. I am not looking for skinny guys and frankly i am puzzled as to how some of the guys who i saw or was referred to look at can even get away with escorting. And the walker guy by the way assured me in a note that he was no older than 33 and the very first comment by someone to me as a consequence of my posting saying that walker was entitled to social security set off the preposterously negative tone of the entire group of interchanges here. As mentioned above i certainly did not expect to hear from the escorts themselves in an entirely self-promotional fashion on this site while i was attempting to obtain information about these frequently advertising individuals only from other clients who had tried them out! roughrider jeff.

Well that's the beauty of this site. Escorts have an input, and escorts like Rick really lighten things up. I personally feel its a bonus that escorts post here.

I hope to eventually meet Raul from Chicago, for what ever reason things haven't worked out yet but they will. If he did not make any contributions to this site, I probably would not be so interested in him, but I have learned that we have common interests, and that has fueled the flames even more. I have met Jared from Toronto in person, and people who read his posts, get a sense of what he is like in person. I know what he is like, and he is even sweeter in person.

Bilbo has made excellent contributions in the Fettish area, and I have learned a lot from his postings.

So to me on this site, you find out that these guys are more than just hot good looking guys. They have a lot of intellect.

Yes, guys use the site to promote themselves and take cues from postings to contact people. Apparently, you heard from guys who didn't interest you, but the point is that they took an interest in you and what you wanted. And they're part of the community, too.

 

I've had offline discussions with escorts about travel (I've been to lots of places in SE Asia, well beyond the sex tourist track) and provided advice about where to stay in my former city. In one case, I hired someone with whom I had one of these conversations, but but otherwise guys contacted me without any obvious expectation of commerce.

 

Yes, there's a "conflict of interest", but we've had plenty of axe grinding by individual posters with needs, too--there's the guy with the tiresome "Bugatti boys" posts and there have been guys who've railed about escorts, in general. I've been part of diverse web communities over the last 10 years and I've learned that an individual poster has no control over them, but as long as you get what you need from a community, the other stuff become manageable, most of the time.

A far more common complaint is that not enough escorts participate, having been chased off by negativity.

 

This place does not hide the fact that both clients and escorts are welcome. This is in fact spelled out in the rules that you obviously scrolled through without reading when entering for the first time.

 

I'm sorry to hear that this site's VERY PUBLICLY STATED policy does not mesh with your pre-conceived notion of what this site should be, but there it is. This site is not what you think it is. It is actually a valuable compendium of viewpoints from both sides of the escort/client transaction.

 

When joining an online community, it is often wise to observe for a time to form an opinion based on fact rather than proceeding on assumptions and then casting aspersions on the community when assumptions (which were yours alone) turn out to be wrong. ;-)

 

Do feel free to hang out here, but I'd recommend re-reading those rules I mentioned. (Hint: there's a link on every page of the message center.) There's a lot of subtle information there about what flies best around here.

excuse me but i would have thought that the heading itself would have spelled things out. the heading is: the deli---an area to discuss escorts (a protected forum). now what does that mean to you? to me it means that this is an arena in which one can discuss the escorts without interference from the escorts themselves. seems quite clear to me and thats really the way it should be. to have the escorts (many of whom are blatantly self-promotional) playing in the same space is just ludicrous and renders this kind of a review forum (if thats what you want to call it!) meaningless and without any merit. very little can frankly be discussed about experiences good or bad with any escorts if you allow them to jump into the postings as well. just my thoughts on this system.

Protected Forum means you have to be a member to post here. That particular wording is a function of the board software (and is actually pretty common).

I could change that to "an area for anyone to discuss escorts" but in my opinion it already says that. The restriction you posit comes from your own imagination. No restriction is implied or stated. That is intentional.

 

Escorts often offer valuable insights into other escorts they have worked with. I doubt we'd be willing to lose that input.

 

It has worked well for 10 years. I suspect we'll be leaving it as is.

 

Another section here is "Ask an escort" but you'll see no shortage of client opinions posted there. Nothing wrong with that, either.

I am guessing you are the type of person who makes an impression whenever he walks into a room and does not go unnoticed, kind of like a bull in a china shop. Whether you agree or disagree with escorts input, which personally I would like more of, it still does not excuse your insulting behavior towards other posters opinions of escorts.

 

We all look for something different in who we hire. If you want input from clients who have hired escorts there is more to it than a pretty face and hot body. I would think you would want to know, is the guy responsive, does he show up on time or flake out on a regular basis, does he perform as agreed, etc. If you chose to accept what the escort says over the nearly 100% opinion of the the people who have hired someone please make your own decision. Just dont degrade the rest of us because we have a different opinion and different tastes. Once you get to know the posters you will know who fits your tastes and who does not.

Roughrider, before I forget, welcome to the site and I do hope that you will continue to participate in the future enven though your first foray may not be what you expected. It's the variety of personalities that make a message board vibrant and intersting. However, it is a little tough getting to know the rules of a site like this especailly the unwritten rules of how eveyrone is expected to behave.

 

That said, I do feel that you have misconstrued some of the aspects of the escort participation here. Such particpation is vital to the success of this site here and I wish there was more of it. But as has been noted many of the working guys don't have the paticience to deal with some of the more negative posters and for good reason it could be argued.

 

Most new posters have lurked around for a while and get the feel of the place before they work up the courage to join. This is a trait with all message boards, not just this one. I am not sure if you did such or not but if you had you would have noted that many escorts do particpate in various threads. And if you look at the Ask an Escort section you will see that clients tend to respond to postings there moreso than escorts. By your logic then, that thread would be awfully empty if only escorts replied to the inquiries.

 

Each of us have our likes and dislikes when it comes to who we hire. Variety being the key and this place and others allow a lot of opportunity to find the guys we are looking for. However, it helps to be specific sometimes and your inital posting was not exactly that way. You listed several names and folks here gave you replies. Then when none of them met your standards you seem to have copped an attitude. Live and learn then. Next time clearly state the physical type you want rather than naming specific guys.

 

I've been seeing one of the escorts on your list for a very long time. Going on seven years to be exact. As I noted to you in a PM he's one of the guys by which I measure the professionalism of other escorts. He doesn't fit your bill, fine that's totally fair and move on.

One thing for sure around here is that there is a lot of different opinions and personalities, tons of information, lots of give and take, some hurt feelings, bundles of camaraderie, and an overall sense of goodwill.
