I think there have been a few threads in recent months about Vice Cops in Las Vegas being ... umm ... "over-zealous" in enforcing local vice laws. Today I got an email report from a local fellow client buddy who saw an Atlanta-based escort who was visiting MSP for the weekend. His report included this:

< He had just come from Vegas. He was busted there his first nite there by an undercover cop doing an outcall at a hotel 2 blocks from his own hotel and spent 24 hours in jail. It so unnerved him that he took no more appointments in LV, just went sightseeing and used up his time until it was time to fly on to MSP. He is very upset with the LV cop, since he had asked him advance if he was a cop, etc etc and the guy said no. He is getting an attorney for his misdemeanor hearing in LV in 3 weeks. He says he will never escort in LV again. >

WTF is goin on there? I'm no expert on LV, but I do know it's one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country, and with all the visitor traffic, there's gotta be a huge demand for hired m2m sex, probably a greater demand than in FTL where the fuckin Mayor is on a crusade to shut down tearooms. x( You'd think the local biz community would get with the program.

What say all you who know the LV scene?? :9

So, let me see if I understand this, if you lie to a police officer, you could be charged and if a police officer lies to you, you could also be charged...

Is a puzzlement! x(

Obviously, anyone can respond to any part of my post, but I just used that escort's experience as an example. I'm more interested in what the hell the LV Vice agenda is all about.

Hoping that some with knowledge can answer this age old question with some legal certainty - I assume many of us have seen Cops on FOX...

Just how is it possible to ask if they are a cop and for them to lie and the charges stick whether you are the client or the business person?

I can't address what's going on in Las Vegas. But, with all that's going on with Craig's List stings, etc., it doesn't surprise me. I truly wish our law enforcement folks would devote more time to more serious crimes; and, I truly wish that our government would legalize the "age old profession."

I apologize for moving from the original post, but wanted to take this opportunity to express concern that we should always be mindful of “vice.” A few months ago, I arranged to meet a guy, from Craig’s List, at a neutral location (shopping mart parking lot). He was in a large SUV with tinted windows. When he rolled the window down, I immediately thought: “Cop.” However, I liked his looks, and he followed me back to my place. As we walked to the condo steps, I specifically asked, “are you a cop?” His reply was something like: “I was going to ask you the same, seeing all the cop cars in the community.” There are several county cops that live in my community as it is within 2 miles of the county police department. As we continued walking up the stairs to my condo, I realized he still had not answered my question, so I asked him again. He said “no,” he is not a cop. When in my bedroom, he hinted that I should provide the cash up front…hmmm, I thought, am I getting scammed, arrested, or what? I expressed my concern that he is a cop and he touched me, sexually…well, I put the cash on the table (not handing it directly to him). He took the cash and we proceeded to have a good time together (ha, bet you thought I was going to tell you I got busted, huh?)…Seriously, though, I was pretty stupid, ignoring my gut feelings…and, I probably should have said everything was a mistake when we first met at the parking lot. I know I was lucky and I’m now more cautious of these types of situations. Turns out the guy was an ex-cop and he told me that they do not have to be truthful when asked if they are, indeed, a cop. I also have a friend that works for the police department; he also says that cops do not have to be truthful in this type of situation. For what its worth…

The escort in question told you that he will never escort in LV again.

So I would say that the LV Vice has achieved it's goal. Regardless of what finally goes down in court, they got what they really wanted - one less hooker working in their fair city.

I don't approve, but it would be hard to argue that they didn't win.

I agree with Zipperzone's assertion that part of the goal is to keep working guys (and gals) from visiting the city. If memory serves correctly, while prostitution is legal in certain parts of Nevada its not legal in LV. Even in the places where it is legal it's supposed to be confined to brothels. Therfore the individual operators are violating the law.

Vice stings are an easy way for the police to show the public they are "doing something" about crime. It's a lot easier to bust a few working guys and johns than it is to track down, arrest, and prosecute a drug dealer. Besides that a dealer can aford better legal representation than an escort or john in some instances. LOL

hello guys...

i will try few tips about it

it dosent mean this works

but for me allways worked...

when someone gets a phone call and ask to meet u with in few min to 30 min or so...could be someone really interested or could be some set up by cops

You as escort should take more time to talk with the guy who is interested to meet you...and ask him how he find out...and wait for details...like,if was from chat room, from this web site or others...and if notice is avoiding this...sometimes.hes only the person who gets to make the phone calls and someone els actualy know what u look like and more info, and then u know if is something who sounds ok or not...

the more time u get to talk with the person who is going to meet u ,the better for u and also for him, if is going to be a reall client,u get the idea of what he likes and like this u see if u can fit the bill...

Also if someone call and gives up front last and first name, hotel room and ask u how much u charge...thats also not a good sign...if the guy is a new to this,he will be very nervos and he dosent know what to ask and never gives his full name,if the guy have done it before,he will still not do this way...if he will say i saw u on the internet<s> like bush said one time;)and he dosent remember where...if he didnt ask u what u get into, thats also not a good sing, and if he tell u he never done it and he wants to get off with another man, stud, or dude, thats also dosent sound right,of course those are reall too,but u need to use your imagination and feeling to see if is worth to go to see this guy or not...

i will probaly give other tips next time i am on here...ps. the strange part how come a guy just visit vegas, gets busted right on the spot...u could do very well in vegas, meet really nice people and have good time...i been here for a wile and i am enjoying every day and i never regret i come in Las Vegas...

Mormons rule, because the Catholics are very passive from their religious training! So they are the worker bees most everywhere, not just LV! I know what that is like until I had a peak experience and also learned what the world was all about. It was not praying all day long. The Church has something for every part of the day. And it is not so much to do with being a success or making money. Rather it is donating it to the Church, just like the Mormons give 10% like it is a religion!

It is my understanding (after speaking to the escort today) that he was busted off of Craig's List, just as I was a year ago...

Fellow escorts & clients....be warned. Looks like all the posts we're getting about Craig's List are true after all.

GREAT advice from Mario.....

Play safe everyone!

All the best;

Ace

Here is the best way I have heard to protect yourself. Discuss the fee by phone or email but tell the other party that you will not discuss money again until after the session is over. The police probably cannot prosecute on the basis of the first conversation alone. When the other party shows up, try to let the other party start the physical contact and if he attempts to discuss money say you don't know what he is talking about and terminate the session.

Howdy,

I wanted to kick in a Craigslist comment...

Heard an interview with the founder of CL a couple of months ago. He stated that he didn't want ANY escorts on the site and would gladly co-operate with law enforcement whenever they requested.

Few minutes ago, I saw where a woman had her address/phone number put in a sexual services ad(with phony photos) on CL. It was allegedly posted by a competing male real estate agent as revenge for outselling him.

She and her very young daughter received over 700 phone calls for "appointments" before the police stepped in.

All I can say is beware & be safe cos Craig ain't havin' this shit!! lol

Yup. And we ALWAYS see an increase in stings being reported as elections near. DAs love to campaign as "hard on crime" through hardon crime. If they nab a member of the opposing party, jackpot!

I never heard about prostitution being restricted to brothels in Nevada, but there are two counties where it is illegal: Clark county (Vegas) and I forget the name of the other county but it's where Reno is located. (The law is based on the population of the county.) That's why a lot of the brothels that are near Vegas are clustered together. They're just over the county line. ;-)

The idea there is to protect the tourism industry. It's meant to assuage the concerns of the wife back home while hubby is at a convention in Vegas or Reno.

Um, yes and no. It waffles back and forth. Every casino on the strip still has "brothel tour" on the concierge's menu.

For the last 10 years or so Vegas has been trying to project a new image and appeal to folks for "family" vacations. It does nothing but piss off people like me who HATE ankle-biters running around when I'm trying to throw away money at the roulette table.

Vegas is still as seedy as it always has been if you know where to look.

(And if you don't know where to look, ask the Croupier. He'll know.)

Deej it's not nice to leave us hanging like that. Why don't you share some of your wealth and let us in on some of the seedier sides of Vegas?

>Deej has mentioned that there are brothel tours from what I

>understand. Are there gay escorts at these brothels?

I'm sure some of the ladies are rug munchers in their private lives, but Nevada law forbids gay brothels.

Heidi Fleiss has been trying to open a "stud farm" with men catering to female customers and is having trouble getting the necessary permits. (In the meantime she's operating a laundry. Really!)

It seems the "workers" need to be women and the "customers" need to be men. Some things are still taboo, even in Nevada.
