This morning, i counted up 9 different ads for the same guy on rentboy in nyc...all attractive body shots of mostly hairy well-hung Italians in their 30s.....Specifically, their names are: diogo, raphael, leonardo, bruno, nelson, lucas, max, genaro, and thomas...i have seen this guy twice and he is a nice enough guy, nice body, hairy chest, nice dick, long eye lashes, nice italian accent, decent masseur, good top...but none of the pics are his... i find it annoying that these 'different' guys have different fees and are not the guys depicted....well, be warned....just wanted to give you guys the heads up....also, omar is the same guy as zach...and mike, matthew, matt, sir leather master, and michael are the same guy all with different pics...only one is actually his...this guy would also be better served with his real pics.. he is kind of cute in a guy next door way....the multiple ad thing makes for needless mistrust

I don’t understand where these guys sometimes come from! A couple of years ago I saw one guy who told me flat out that his pics on Rentboy and Men4Rent were bogus… it was not exactly obvious at first glance… He said he used fakes because he didn’t want anyone to know who he was… well none of the pics showed a face anyway so the argument did not seem to hold water. I told him that he actually looked better than the posted pics made him out to be… so he had some photos taken professionally and he emailed them to me and asked my opinion regarding which would be the best to use. I advised him as best I could… Yet to this day he is still using two or three different names (depending on which site he is advertising on) and the same bogus photos… I still don’t get it… As you say it doesn't help with the "trust factor".

What a coincidence, the same topic came up in conversation today with an escort I've known for a long time. He couldn't believe how blatant these guys are.

Examples: http://www.rentmen.com/profile.php?userid=1560. Exactly, what color is this guy?

One of my favorites is this guy: http://www.rentboy.com/location/getrb.asp?rentboy=82970&Location=601. I met him last year and none of those pics are him. He is actually using a face pic that is not him!

My 2007 resolution was not to hire escorts just showing body parts.

Actually Genaro is somewhat close to being an Italian name... Though in Italian it is spelled Gennaro, at least as a first name or as in the San Gennaro Festival... with Genaro being the Spanish equivalent... So perhaps like quite a few Italians this guy emigrated to the USA via Argentina... but I doubt it... either the guy can't spell or more likely is is just a plain ditz!

I have seen some other guys use multiple ads with different pics. I really don't know how it is worthwhile. I mean the guy you mention has to pay for 9 ads and Rentboy is not cheap, on top of having to pay for as many as 9 phone numbers. I have been tempted to print off pics of guy I am going to meet, and if the guy doesn't look like the pic, show it to him and leave.

RE: same guy, different names— Gregorio

I see Gregorio on Rentboy NYC is using the Men at Play pictures of Ted Colunga. Is Gregorio Ted Colunga a.k.a Fred Fele?

And then there's Mike using pictures I've also seen on Men at Play.

What's the scoop from the sleuths?

I can shed some light on the workings of this. Rentboy actually facilitates this kind of behavior in two ways:

First, the monthly rate for an escort's first ad is something significant; each ad after that is very, very cheap. So once you are a subscriber, you can run multiple ads for not that much money.

Second, Rentboy doesn't care about the integrity of its site. For the past month a guy in Chicago has been using a pic of mine, one that was taken by a pro here in New York and is copyrighted with the photographer's watermark on it. The guy photoshopped the pic up, took out the watermark, and is using it to this day. I complained to Rentboy and they refuse to get involved, even though I can prove that the pic in question is mine. I'm thinking about contacting the photographer and getting a letter from his lawyer, maybe that will motivate Rentboy.

Rentboy, in my experience, doesn't really care about its customers or its image. They want to make money off their advertisers and view every single point of customer service as an enormous pain in their corporate behind. A little competition is long overdue.

Sorry to hear of your issues with Rentboy. Being in to photography, it sucks when copyrights are not respected.

I have hired only once from another website (M4R IIRC), only after talking with a companion from this site (who I have chatted with at length - now if we can only find each other in the same city at the same time LOL) , that calmed my concerns. It went well, and I hope that the review passes muster.

Otherwise i love the sense of community here on the DR. Met three great guys from here so far (two of which have published reviews from me, the other might not get published due the frequency of reviews policy that Daddy has in place - shame since that evening could have turned out badly - but didn't) . I feel a certain safety in going with guys here that are pretty well reviewed.

Neat thing is that so far we have all stayed in touch in one way or another. We all respect the personal and professional boundaries, yet we do stay in touch. Never would have expected that.

I am happy that I stumbled upon this site...

  • 2 weeks later...

I am not sure that Rentboys diogo, raphael, leonardo, bruno, nelson, lucas, max, genaro, and Thomas are the same guy. Is it possible that someone provides a service for several guys by taking the calls and emails and then transmitting the messages to the Rentboys? I bet none of these numbers directly rings the Rentboy. Do you ever get your guy personally from the number in the Rentboy ad? Which “name” did you hire? Is he Brazilian? (The profile of all these guys says he speaks Portuguese.) Which picture comes the closest to the guy you hired? I like the photo of Max the best. I see that Max has just raised his price to $350 IN and $400 OUT. What makes this guy that special besides what we see in the photo (which you say is not him)? Great conversation? Widely traveled? Well educated? Does he kiss? Cuddle? Is the West 40’s location a hotel or a super apartment?

wow...so many questions...i will do my best....i know that many of the guys that i listed are the same guy because i called many of them and asked....he admitted it...like you, those pics he selects are just my type, and, with wishful thinking, i keep hoping that there is a new, hairy, muscular, well-hung top in nyc ....none of the pictured actually resemble him..he recycles some of the pics with new names...he is a pleasant looking, seemingly italian medium build guy with a slightly above average dick...not very verbal...massage table in his apartment, which is small but nicely done on a busy street in midtown with no parking..he doesn't need all this duplicity...he could have a fine following as an escort masseur with his own pics...you wouldn't be disappointed with his skills as a top...but, if you are expecting the hunk in the pics, you would be disappointed that you didn't get the guy you expected

> I suspect we should add Domenico and Jose to the list of

>aliases..new ads on rentboy

Well, yes, the Jose picture is the former Genaro picture. Domenico, at least, has different stats, but he sure looks like all the others. The new mystery is that Thomas and Max are now listed in Hong Kong, too, but without any dates for the Hong Kong visit. The guy named Nelson does not look like the others, and once his face was posted, and he was not that handsome.

If you use a charge card, what does the merchant say? "Various Aliases, Inc."?

Oh, yes, do not overlook the newest one: Pedro.

I wish someone would solve this mystery by hiring ALL of them, with a handy cell phone for pics.
