MER site having technical difficulties?

Hi Guys,

 

For just over the last day or so I have not been able to pull up Male Escort Review on my browser. I've been getting the ususal "server not found" message. This morning the following message popped up during my last attempt:

 

"Server Default page

If you see this page it means:

1. hosting for this domain is not configured

or

2. there's no such domain registered in Plesk

What you can do:

• Using Plesk, you can create domains with web hosting on a single physical server.

"

 

Anyone else out there having issues? I don't think it's my ISP since I can pull up all other sites without an issue. Any insigths would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, having the same problem. I tried to bring up the MER website this morning, and got the same thing. Must be technical difficulties on their end.

It's not on your end. There are server problems and it's being worked on. I'm afraid I don't know how long it will take however.

Recently their server has been painfully slow. Thus I am not terribly suprised that they are down. Now the question is how long they will be out.

With more than 11,000 members, often all logging in at the same time, MER's wild success can be a nightmare for its server management. I think they should double their staff and create several new message center forums to handle the volume. With the paper manufacturer's convention coming up, there will be many additional lurkers looking for escorts, so look for more delays!

And here I thought that the posting of the earth shattering review by KYTOP of me sent the servers into overtime with people looking consistently in shock at the fifth sign of the impending apocalypse.

 

In all seriousness I was lucky enough to be having insomnia yesterday and woke up at 5 AM PST to see the notice of the new review and get to see it before everything went down. Looking forward to the site being back up sooner than later

Thanks everyone for the clarification. Hopefully they will get the servers fixed soon and we can all read KYTop's reivew of Scott Adler. I assume they were upgrading in anticipation of the onslaught of interest in that particular review.

Just checked the Gay Thailand site, also run by TotallyOz, and found the message below. So it may have been hackers, rather than a run on the KYTop/Scott Adler review that brought down both sites. What a shame.

 

 

Our servers were attacked by hackers and effectively destroyed. We have moved to new servers and we are restoring the site from backups. We are working as quickly as possible to bring the site back up to full effectiveness.

This usually means the server is down or being restarted.

 

If you get an error server too busy it is because it is.

 

11k members and all that info needs a powerful DB and backend scripts to handle it and servers that execute like lightening.

 

be patient and keep trying when it happens I know they want thier people coming back and will try everything they can to have max up time.
