I'm probably going to get all kinds of grief for saying this, but when I first clicked on the site this morning, I thought someone was playing a nasty joke on Scott--I think the photo is terrible. It's too dark, he looks scary, and what's that on his head? He has always looked very sexy in the other photos I've seen, and I'm told that he is quite handsome in person, but I certainly wouldn't want to hire him from that photo alone.

I'm not crazy about the picture either, strictly from a technical standpoint. The "look" could have been made to work.

The dark lighting (and the angle) emphasize his nose and chin a little much, de-emphasizing his cheekbones which are actually a fairly strong feature for him. Add the darkness around the eyes and he starts to look a little like the witch Baba Yaga.

(Note to Scott: I said it was the *lighting and angle* that caused it, not that *you* look like that!)

But I give him props. Clients constantly complain that escorts don't use new pics, or that they always present "same old". Scott always mixes it up and keeps it fresh. Kudos to him for trying something different!

I don't know Scott at all but from his previous pictures I would certainly have considered hiring him. This picture does nothing to emphasize the positive attributes I have appreciated in other photos and while his body looks cut, it appears to me less appealing than other shots of him and doesn't make him look sexy at all. The face is too dark and the hat is just a mistake.

Can't see this picture bringing in new clients for you Scott, would opt for something else. I know, how about a picture of you lying back in a green swim suit and a smile?

Purple you were saying pretty much what I was thinking. If that was the only picture I saw of Scott.....I would not consider hiring him.

Wow .... well thanks for all the input good and bad.

The shoot itself was kind of rushed and with one of my favorite photographers. He's gotten sick of shooting homos in tight tees with a black backdrop so he's had access to this urban rooftop in downtown NYC.

It was interesting but I can totally understand the criticism and such ... too bad when I change the picture I won't get another coverboy :) LOL although with reviews as sparse as they are maybe I'll get lucky and the other reviewees will have faceless shots and I'll go up again by default.

So yeah ... thanks for the kind words but I actually am kind of inclined to agree with the constructive criticism this time around.

(Yes people pick up your jaws I'm not coming out of my corner fighting.)

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the facial expression in this one but the body looked really good and I was getting sick of all the sappy cookie cutter shots. There are some others from this shoot that keep the urban tone but are a little less menacing and I'll try to get it up sooner than later :)

As to Lucky's comment well I hate to say it but dont judge too much this weekend. To avoid a no-show review (;)) I'll definitely be there but due to an awful experience with a new laser at my laser hair removal session last week I look like a fifteen year old going through puberty and it hurts to even think about dragging a razor across my swollen face. Hopefully by Friday I'll be presentable though :(

Scott... I downloaded your picture and played around with it with Photo Shop...and to me at least I was able to come up with some very interesting effects for your new picture, when I played around with the lighting....so why not give it a try for yourself... and see what you think. I did a lighting effect from the top right hand corner... and also played around with the finish (metalic, plastic) etc.

A lot of photographers ...notice I am not say the best photographers.. but a lot of good photographers will play around with their pictures in the dark room or on the computer.

Scott,

I happen to like the photo since it gives you a different look that's outside what's typical for escort pics. And it does not look overly posed like so many other studio pics as well. Why that photo makes it look like you could almost pass for a Top. Almost. ;-) :p

::Bitchslap:: Why I oughta ....

So what you're saying is to advertise my versatility I should stitch that one to my pretzel picture :)

I think my reviews do just fine making me out to be a top ;)

I think it was a good change because it has already accomplished what it was suppose to do-market Scott. I think the picture is edgy and provides another side. Much like BN's review last year of his S & M fun with a client,it provides another side and element to market. This is an industry that thrives on marketing. You just can not go with the same old thing, you need to create interest so you can add to your list of clientele. Yes consistent good reviews are very important but if you have the same clients the number of reviews drops off and you have to find another angle to the marketplace or dry up and die.

Either that or the one with the bunny ears. }(

Hmmm.... might need to verify that one in person. ;-)

It is funny how you can forget how colored one's viewpoint can be.

When I saw Scott's coverboy picture on 2/12, my biggest reaction was surprise that I did not recognize him for a second. In his previous pictures and postings. Scott is one of those guys, although he does not know me, who I feel I know, including his his looks.

In the context of liking to see all sorts of perspectives on a person, I like the picture. It is consistent with the playful, experimental Scott. I already know that he has a great body and handsome face. If the photo were the first thing I had ever seen concerning Scott, I would not have guessed that he would look like he does in other photos.

From the standpoint of how the picture will effect business, don't know. It will not cause me to take him off the list of guys I would like to meet!
