I know a lot of guys on here were regulars at the Gaiety during the past years in Manhattan.

I also know that many guys knew and admired (and lusted after) the tall dark and handsome Austin.

I just found out today that Austin was found dead in a hotel room in Las Vegas this past week.

Very sad end of a really nice talented guy.

Yes Austin and Mark Mast are the same person. Some may remember that he was also featured on a reality show several years ago entitled "Mr. Romance" - tall, dark and handsome - some may remember his as a side kick of the famous Trevor while at the Gaiety.

We have learned about several escorts deaths in the past short while. The power of the internet. I am sure if an escort died fifteen or twenty years ago, very few people would have known that the person died...people would have just been wondering if the person quit the business. I have not met any of the escorts that have died...but still there is a sense of loss.

It is indeed very sad to hear about Austin. In the days of the Gaiety he stood out as a very pleasant person with amazing good looks. He was always very polite and friendly and everyone who came into contact with him enjoyed his company immensely.

Sad that a person who had a lot going for him should end his life in a hotel room.

Austin was a total sweetheart and a great guy. Those who know me know how much I liked him which was not just because he was so good looking but because he was a great guy personally. I hadn't seen him in years and when he retired I sent him a thank you note telling him how I appreciated him being so down to earth and fun with me. Seeing him was like seeing a buddy. Such a loss.

I didn't know Austin if he only danced at the Gaiety since I was only there twice altho if he danced in Montreal I might have seen him since I am terrible with names of dancers, so many men, you know. But it is a shame that he had no-one to reach out to in his terrible hour of need and that he chose to take his own life. Such a terrible loss to his friends and family and wasted potential. :-(
