How common have you found it for escorts who advertise on other sites such as men4rent to not respond to either e-mails that you sent through those sites or to voice mails left on their phones?

I have had this experience with 3 different escorts over the past two months. One is a porn star in Philly that I sent both e-mails and voice mails to 4x trying to arrange a weekend, the others were escorts in other cities I sent e-mails to through men4rent. I know the ads were active as they had all received reviews within the four weeks before I attempted contact.

I would say my experience has been that about 1 in 4 do not respond when using email on M4RN. I always use email as first contact, so can't speak to voice portion of your question.

 

Rentboy seems to have a higher percentage for response. Probably due to the fact the ads are usually current.

 

MER is probably close to the M4RN percentage. Good thing about that site is you can see last time escort has logged on or updated so you can see who is keeping their ad current.

Snoopy, I think your problem is very common, though I would say about half never respond. And MER stands for Male Escort Reviews anc can be found at http://www.malescortreview.com

Honestly it could be a couple reasons why the guy isn't responding. First he might be too busy to reply, no bueno. And secondly even if an escort doesn't keep up on his payment to men4rent they still keep the ad up for viewing, which to me is totaly misleading the client. As a result you the client think the ad is currant and send an email which first goes to men4rent and then forwarded on to the escort. But if the escort is not up to date on his payment men4rent keep the email until the escort makes a payment which could be never if he feels the site wasn't worth payment. Hope this helps ya out.

I have found the low response rate pretty common and not just limited to M4Rent. For me, if I have not received a response from an escort to an initial inquiriy in 24 to 48 hours I scratch him off my list and move on to another option. This is how I measure the level of professionalism of the escort and it's been a pretty good inidcator to me of how things will move on from there.

 

One thing to note on Men4Rent is if the escort notes he prefers phone contact. A good many of them have this listing and will not respond to e-mails at all. That's their option and that's fine with me. I just avoid those guys entirely.

I thought I enlighten this conversation with the perspective from an escort's point of view.

 

Many times, especially when a potential client fills out the email contact form on Men4RentNow.com, the email address given is incomplete or has a typographical error. In this case, there is no way to contact the client due to the client's error.

 

I don't always promptly reply to email either. If I am away with a client for the weekend or an overnight, my laptop remains at home and I do not respond to my email until I return home. Some people might have a problem with this, but I guarantee that a client would not be too happy to have me checking my email during the time that I am with my them. Whether that is o.k. with the client, or not, I do not check my email or answer my phone when I am with a client unless I have been hired for an extended period of time.

 

Just thought I would remind everyone that there are always two sides to every situation.

OK, the overnight I can see. But for a longer engagement, I (as a client) have no problem with the occasional break to check email/voicemail. Lord knows I'll be doing it. ;-) I can't take several days away from email/voicemail and certainly wouldn't expect an escort to do it.

 

Some clients won't want to see it, but some won't mind. This one comes back to what we always say: it's all about communication! (In more ways than one!)

I agree completely with deej regarding escorts checking their email during extended periods with a client. I travel twice a year with an escort for week long trips. To my way a thinking it would be absurd of me NOT to expect him to keep on top of his emails. Besides working on his correspondance he goes to a gym for about an hour everyday. Just because we are traveling together as escort and client doesn't mean I own the guy. Frankly I also enjoy this time apart when I can do some personal thing that I need to do.

Almost half of the replies I send to potential clients' men4rentnow emails are returned as "undeliverable." Maybe you're right; maybe they're not inputting their addresses correctly. And then they probably think we're ignoring them when they don't get a reply. Oh, well...

I have done several extended situations with escorts. In each instance we have had the understanding that the escort needs personal time to conduct his business. Any client who does not understand these situations is being just plain inconsiderate.

 

Michael, I can see your point of view but M4R seems to have a disproportionate no response rate in my experience. Since I double and triple check my e-mail address when entering it, I am not going to say it's due to typographical error on my part.
