This is NOT written to take anything away from Gabriel, the selected "Coverboy" of this day, but I found the review slightly perplexing in terms of the manner in which it was written. The first brief paragraph read easily and interestingly; the others, a description of the client's time that he had with Gabriel, left me questioning whether or not he had written the review all by himself. The words didn't flow smoothly and too many sentences were full of errors, thus I wondered, did this man write the review, or did he have a ghost writer to write the introduction and he, himself, did the rest! Or, was the writer still so smitten and taken aback that he allowed his physical stance take over from his communicating?

 

I guess I'll always be left in a maze of wonderment!

Okay...I would never hire a lawyer who has such a blatant need for spell check.

 

I can just see him in court now:

 

"Ummm... Your Honor, the client clearly never fell as though he were hiring someone, as indicated when he lied down on the floor to pic up the pace while being made free sexually. So there."

 

I'm beginning to think Male35 (which sounds like some sort of hair product) is actually David Sedaris.

Or maybe Gabriel, who is French, wrote the review? At times it reads like a review by somebody whose English is imperfectly learned and not completely idiomatic.

I agree that the review has lots of errors, and appears to have been written by someone whose first language is not English. Somehow I doubt if it was written by an escort whose first language is French--doesn't "scan" like a French-speaker, writing in English---hard to explain, perhaps someone who is bi-lingual can help me out here. I suspect that the reviewer may not be a native English speaker, was in a hurry, and was just careless. Do lawyers/attorneys/barristers have lots of clerical help to "clean" up their ramblings? It could be a case of sloppiness.

Since analyzing this sort of writing happens to be my field of expertise, I feel confident in saying that the whole piece was written by the same person, and he is a native English speaker. Most of the errors are either misspellings or typos (I make the same kinds of errors when typing quickly--I even made two of them in this post before I re-read it), and those that aren't appear to be the result of hasty composition and inept editing by the reviewer (who probably has a secretary to proofread his less private productions). I think we can absolve Gabriel of malfeasance.

I agree with you that the person who wrote the review is almost certainly a native English speaker---the sentences are written like people here talk. It's almost as if he recorded his description first and then transcribed it word for word.

 

Whether he's a lawyer, though---jeez. I pity his secretary.

I read papers written by persons whose first language is not Ingles. I just found the paragraghs inconsistent in structure, especially the first one or two as they related to the others.

 

I guess I felt a need to see what others thoughts about the review in its entirety in terms of structural inconsistency and the believability of the writer.

 

Well, I'll continue to read long, detailed reviews.....
