basics you follow to protect yourself, legally, are...?

....I'm wondering this for both escorts and clients at a meeting...I've only hired about four different guys and all were well-reviewed here...that was pretty much my screening process (being well-reviewed), but I also looked for gut-feeling, tone of emails and phone chats, even stuff like stability of contact info...my being nervous at these meets, primarily from fear of the local PD "busting down the door", puts a small damper on my enjoyment...meets have always been at a decent hotel I arrange and, if allowed, the escort comes right to my door after I call them with the details....

 

I know some of you'll say, "if you fear getting busted, don't do it", but I know this can be done in a way with little to worry about since so many of you do it all the time, it seems....

 

would like all kinds of suggestions, habits, etc., that both clients and escorts follow as a rule.......thanks a lot for your time

You are aready following the number one rule - hiring well reviewed escorts. Another rule I follow is before I hire I MUST speak to the escort on the phone. I get a certain feeling speaking one on one not to mention I have the escort call me and pay specific attention to the caller ID. Any mention of a specific sex act or money detail and the deal is off.

Thats good advice. A phone call to me is very important. Often it makes me more excited to have the appointment based on the demeanor and sound of the voice. And it gives me an opportunity to get a read on that person.

 

However if I get a doubt of any kind in the back of my mind. I act on it. Sure maybe I miss a good time once in a while, but if your instincts are telling you something is wrong...it probably is. Just move on.

I've only had one freaky experience over the past few years. One night I called a guy liste don one of the sites and got a VERY bad vibe. When he pushed to meet that night, I put him off. Then, within 5 minutes, he called me on my unlisted home phone as well as a business line in my house! I was freaked out, but thank God I never heard anything more. Always insist on speaking live, though.

I would imagine that hiring from an agency would be safe, as well as guys that are well-reviewed here. When a new guy pops up on RentBoy or Men4RentNow, I usually wait a couple of weeks to see if the ad is still there. My thinking is if it's not a legit ad, they would take it down before the word got out. Not 100% reliable of course.

skrubber:....you mention caller ID...whenever I call an escort, I go to a payphone for fear of the escort being able to ID my home phone...I'm concerned about personal privacy (and some here may have noted my "due diligence" post a few days ago)...do you call from your own home or a cell with caller ID?....I still do not own a cell, but pressure gains every day!...are you concerend about them ID'ing your number?

I do not call escorts from home until I have met them at least once. As far as escorts using pay phones - They are exactly the kind of calls suspicious to me and ones I probably would not even answer.

I don't know what part of the country you live in, but most of the payphones in this area (Washington DC) are being eliminated due to lack of business.

 

I've heard that people are sometimes using pre-paid cellphones now when they don't want to be too conspicuous. You should be able to get one without having it associated with your true identity.
