I previously read the negative review on Sean (Farm Pup) from San Diego (Tuesday, 06-13). My initial reaction was that the review was well written, not overly negative, and the reviewer (Firesong AL) was trying to fairly represent his disappointment with the session.

But, I feel today's response from Sean is worthy of note. All too often the escort responds by either strongly denying the allegations and/or takes a "blame the client" stance. Sean, to his credit, only writes a one sentence acknowledgement that the client was not satisfied and then clarifies the services he does offer. I particularly liked that he:

[ol] Verified his approximate age and stated the younger age in other reviews was incorrect.

Clarified that he does erotic massage and does have limitations.

Ensured that future clients are aware he makes no promises on anything other than erotic massage. (Review #9 is still visible and states he bottomed for that client. I feel his clarification of limits was crucial since "full service" escort activities were implied in that review and could be misinterpreted as his normal practice at all sessions.)

Encouraged potential clients to chat with him on-line.

Confirmed his current rates. [/ol]

In short, Sean came across with dignity and kept his remarks on point. The only thing I did not like was his statement that he was "...not a ho who will do just anything with anyone." Couldn't the term "escort" have been used instead of "ho"?

Reviews and responses like this make M4M a great site with wonderful info. Congrats to both Firesong AL and Sean for keeping things above board and providing us with useful info.

>I've met with Sean and did not write a review. I felt he was

>a bigoted (I'm asian), condescending heartless person. And

>make no mistake - he was escorting - not massaging. He is not

>a masseur!

I'm sorry, but the first sentence of your comment sort of invalidates the rest of it for me. I mean if you felt that he was heartless, condescending and bigoted, then why the heck didn't you write a review and describe the experience that led to that conclusion? The review process isn't perfect, but at least then there's a chance for verification and rebuttal, which gives the rest of us readers a chance to more objectively review the escort in question.

For myself, I have not reviewed every escort I've been with, but mostly those I don't review are encounters that were neither particularly good nor particularly bad, but offered me nothing I could really add to the process. There have also been a couple of escorts who've had 40-50 great reviews and my adding my own plaudits aren't really necessary.

Now I guess I've been fortunate not to ever run into an escort who came across as heartless or condescending, but if I ever do, I'm sure going to write a review to say why!

I talked to Sean on the phone when trying to set up an appointment couple of years ago. I have accent and so he asked what my ethnicity was. He then said that he only saw caucasian men. Good thing, I did not see him.

He does not say anything about the restriction of only seeing caucasian men on his website (he had one at the time)

I can certainly understand why he didn't write a review. Sometimes after you've had a bad experience, you just want to forget about it and get it behind you. Writing a review only prolongs the agony.

Having a bad experience and never wishing to speak of it again is an understandable reaction, if somewhat a selfish one from a review site's point of view. But it really irritates me when an escort has a string of positive reviews and then someone writes a critical review and suddenly people pop out on the message board saying 'oh yeah, I hired him too and he was terrible!'

Well, if the experience was so bad that someone feels obliged to comment now, why the heck didn't they do it sooner and maybe save someone else a few hundred dollars? Isn't that what this site is about? Isn't that why we visit it as opposed to the thousands of other gay sites out there with message boards? And why should I pay any credence to that person's comments now, if he wasn't prepared to participate in the review process?

Thank you zipperzone! You are right - I just wanted to forget about it. In this day and age, still to find bigotry. If he only likes whites, say so in the profile - don't take it out on the patron! I don't like "wasting" my hard-earned money. The reason I put my two cents in was that the negative review was exactly like my experience! I just wanted to confirm his remarks.

So that makes it YOUR problem, RIGHT???, and not the problem of this site, or the person making the comment, or for that matter MOST everyone else here on the mc!

Who are you to DEMAND that others review their escort experiences, and to DAMN them when they comment about their experiences with an escort that they hired, but didn't review, who is under discussion on the mc???? Most every poster here has done that! :)

WTF, are you the patron saint of escorts???

If so, then play your harp, flap your wings, and get way over yourself, for the good of this site, and everyone who visits it?

Well, gee willikers, DON'T know???? If you need an ironclad written guarantee from others, before you can excercise your very own intellect to make a decision on something as SIMPLE as hiring an escort, then I guess you're just hopeless, huh????

:-(

VaHawk, In both my comments, I was simply offering my viewpoint on such comments. Unlike certain other posters on this board, I never claim to be speaking for every/anybody else but me.

But what I'd like to know is who are YOU to DEMAND that I change MY way of evaluating reviews and comments on escorts? And who are YOU to object when I offer my opinion on how I do that?

WTF, are you the GOD of this message board?

If so, then I suggest YOU get over YOURSELF and pull your head out from your posterior. You might find it improves your view of the world, this message board and everyone on it. Anything's possible! :7

As I said, I can understand the reaction of wanting to forget and move on as quickly as possible. BUT, I also hope you understand my perspective that a review (even a short one) might be so much more helpful to people evaluating this escort than a relatively anonymous comment in the message board however many weeks/months/years later. The more so, when your encounter had the racist/bigoted element that was not mentioned in the review under discussion...

And contrary to what VaHawk thinks (not that I care what he thinks but in case you think the same), I'm not trying to 'DAMN' you or anyone; just wishing people would write more reviews of their encounters, good or bad!
