Nope, he never called or replied to my email (which was a reply to his initial email). I'm kind of glad he didn't contact us, though...I would have had to talk in a very deep voice the whole time and say "bro" a lot and do that "guy" handshake where you tap fists. Too much work! :p

I saw Patti Smith at the Bottom Line when "Horses" was released and at several other concerts at places like CDBG -- all smaller places in the 1970s, so the 2 concerts in larger venues were special. I am very glad that she's back and doing so well after her very bad accident and her husband's death.

It was great to see & hear her in Madison Square Garden with U2's sound system. She sang fewer songs at the Garden than BAM, but what she sang was from all phases of her career. As you probably know, the BAM concert was the entire "Horses" album plus about 8 other songs. I've really never completely understood the song "Land," which is my favorite of all of her songs. She seems to sing it differently every time. I like the live London version of "Land" better on the 30th Anniversary CD. At BAM, she left out the part about horses, horses coming from all directions!!! Someone yelled out a request for "We Three" for the "Easter" album and she reluctantly sang it -- one of the high points of the show.

One in a million coincidence, but I was listening to "Pissing in a River" for the first time in a long while when I read your message.

LOL! Rick, I don't see how anyone could NOT like you, 'Queeny' or not. I hope you'll be traveling to Chicago soon.
