AYH and IYH (American Youth Hostels and International....) run decent places to stay in all the major cities in CA, plus plenty of non-major ones. No age limit on membership. Membership is not too much and the cost for rooms (dorm type mostly, sharing room & bath) is way below hotel cost. Plus there's lots of hostels unaffiliated. Try looking for a "Let's Go" guide in the library for the city of interest.

 

It's maybe a little curious that Mr. Foster couldn't (wouldn't?) post for himself. More so that he need one of us to pay for a (potentially) long-distance phone call to help him out. If he's without a computer, he can use one at a public library (they're free), get a free email box, and sign up here, too.

I have a vacation home in Palm Springs and another one in LA. I live in Northern California and travel a lot. I come down there a few times a year but let family and friends use both places on occasion. Tell him to e-mail me if he's interested.

California is a geographically large state, in fact, one of the largest in the continental U.S. Given his past history, particularly since he has been in Denver the last few years, I would imagine he would prefer someplace small and low key, in Northern California, over Los Angeles. However, if he would like to start over in Southern California, the desert area of Palm Springs and its environs is as good as any.

 

Merlin, it really is easy to use a computer at a library and while I have a lot of sympathy for Mr. Foster, when one is asking for a favor, one should be willing to put themselves out at least a little bit.

I've seen (many) posts online from people who "absolutely know" the story ranging from rouging up the missus to "an enemy" setting up a drug bust and roid rage involving the officers. The story varies too widely for all of them to "absolutely know".

Given his recent history and the surfeit of "talent" I would suspect many producers would be reluctant to hire him. In addition, even if he has kept himself in superior shape and even with the changing tastes, porn is still a young man's game. However, all of this is speculative unless he plans to come to California to do porn again. In any event, as individuals as diverse as Matt Rush or Chad Hunt prove, an adult film studio would have no compunction with bringing talent over from their home towns, IF it was merited, so Mr. Foster could have stayed in Colorado and attempted such a comeback.

 

In any event, the question that really needs to be answered is WHERE in the GREAT big state of California Mr. Foster would like to go and, perhaps, WHY.

Don't be so sure. ;-) Arik Travis (who, ironically, was in one of Cody Foster's best scenes long, long ago) made a comeback just last year.

Don't be so sure there, either. The studios actually HATE flying models in to make movies. The A-listers can get it, but proximity to the filming locations still plays a huge part in casting decisions.
