A Brief Review -- Once Upon a Time…

... long long ago but not far away the MC was an environment where we could actually discuss issues of escort performance. Whether they were discussions or timely reviews-in-brief is a thin line and in the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless we engaged in them and they were helpful to some and interesting to many. I regret that these are no long permitted. But I also understand why, I think.

 

The threads usually initiated by a client about a recent experience or by a request seeking a ‘encounter details’ from clients. Sometimes the escort responded, most times they didn’t and may not have even known about the thread. Everything seemed kosher as long as it was first-hand knowledge and questions for those with that knowledge of the escort. Then the line started forming with those who wanted to give their largely irrelevant opinions in favor of one side of the other. No knowledge mind you, just opinion based on he said or he said. It was not uncommon for these threads to degenerate into a trashing or so it seemed, and more often for the escort but sometimes the client took lumps too. Mostly due to the irrelevant opinions of people without direct knowledge of the incident or knowing either party personally.

 

IMO, eventually the powers-that-be chose not to foster this sort of spectacle and decided that reviews-in-brief were reviews and didn’t belong in the MC – an unfortunate if understandable decision IMO. Other escort discussions that degenerated into the ‘beating a dead horse’ thread were locked.

 

Useful open civil discussion on a web site dictates a measure of responsibility for the contributors and some self-discipline. Without it discipline may be imposed through locked threads and banned topics. In effect, we cut off our nose to spite our own face because the members are the ones loosing out on the benefits of relevant civil discussion.

 

IMO there is nothing wrong with reporting an escort encounter in a timely manner or inquiring about an escort’s performance as long as it is kept factual by those with direct knowledge and inquisitive by those seeking information. Also there is nothing wrong with the peanut gallery forming opinions about the incident or either party. However everything that goes on in our heads doesn’t need to spill out of our mouths or keyboards, especially when they are totally irrelevant to establishing facts of the case or first-hand experience with either party.

 

This topic has been on my mind off and on for a long time. Mostly because I think we pay a high price for poor self-discipline. So why do I chose to post about it today. Because there is another thread discussing a review, a follow up to a review-in-brief posted on the MC that was subsequently removed. The reviewer is a familiar MC member and the escort is well known and positively reviewed. The encounter didn’t go well. Each side had his say in the ‘reviews’ section and each has had the opportunity to follow up in an MC thread. All well and good as it should be. But now comes the posting of irrelevant third party opinions that only serve to pile on one side or the other. They will probably multiply and bring the thread to locked status soon. Probably not an untimely end as it seems both primaries have had their say. And I have had mine. FWIW
