This is December 8. In late February I will be going to the DR ((Santo Domingo) via Miami. Since I am staying overnight in Miami, I want some "hot" Latin orientation before venturing onward. I hate to rain on your parade but you better check with your public health authority about travel to the DR at this time. In Canada they have issued a public health alert about malaria as 6 travellers in the last month from DR have come down with malaria on their return home. Of the 6, 3 recovered but 2 are in serious condition and one is on life support. None had taken the anti-malarial medicine to ward off this potentially fatal disease. Apparently, the worst areas affected are in the western part of DR, closer to Haiti.

Your concern and advice are appeciated. Just last evening my ta suggested that I get a prescription of malaria tablets and to begin my regimen before I take off. I do plan to do as suggested. And once again, thanks for the advice, man!

Think nothing of it. As an update, yesterday's press said all 6 recent cases in Canada were visitors to Punta Cana in DR so that would seem to be a hot spot for malaria. If you take the pills you should be alright but take along some insect repellent like DEET as well.

 

As for latin escorts in Miami, if you have the resources and like tops, Jason Marcus, probably one of New York's hottest escorts, has a place in South Beach and might be there when you are.
