Nationwide continues to troll for victims on American Male. I can almost spot them now..cute young twinks, almost too delicious looking to be true, with very literate self descriptions that always seem to mention being treated with kindness by generous older men.And of course, never a phone number! Nationswide's notorious web site has finally been shut down it seems. Now you are asked to write to a hotmail e adress.

I spotted a cutie on American Male's site listed as "BondBon" in Charleston,SC. I wrote to inquire about his availability and received the standard Nationwide/Cupcake response. If nothing else, as a consolation prize, you are provided with a site to look at a series of 40 photos of "Bond". The site is http://www.geocities.com/bondbon19.It is worth a look, and I hope that poor cute Bond ,whoever and wherever he is, (European maybe, uncut..but with Boston Red Sox briefs??)is derving some benefit from this use of his hot little body.

I do have some Kitty Kelly type of unfounded speculation about American Male. About one or two months ago they began listing reviews of models/escorts. After several of Nationwide's phantom boys got nasty no-show reports, the reviews were quickly dropped. Now American Male has posted an inarticulate vague warning on its home page about fronting money to unknown boys. Could there be a relationship of some kind between AM & Nationwide?

I don't think AmericanMale and Nationwide are related (could be wrong though). I just think it happens to be a very convenient medium for scammers. A place to put free ads with pics and such that are for the most part unregulated. AmericanMale is a great site as far as idea and everything...great layout, etc., but regulating the content would be almost impossible.

They put up that warning after getting a lot of feedback about Nationwide and Cupcake; that's true. I think a lot of the reviews were removed because someone was going through and rating everybody one star multiple times. It's cooky.

I also doubt it, but have no way of knowing. IF AM really wanted to be helpful, instead of posting their warning (or maybe in addition to doing so), they could simply remove the listings when informed of the Nationwide connection. I know I've sent them multiple emails/heads up, as I believe others here have also, all to no avail. x(

Gup, there's no particular reason why the scam couldn't be perpetrated just as easily on a pay-to-list site. I've checked a few, and they don't screen either. Beyond that, do some math. If "Nationwide" reeled in just one innocent client per month for each phony escort at an average "deposit" of $150 apop (I'm sure the average is MUCH higher), they could easily justify a fee of $30/month to list the guy on a pay-to-list site.

RE: NATIONWIDE & AMERICAN MALE

Point taken - they could target pay sites. I just meant AmericanMale is very convenient for them since it IS completely free (as far as I know anyways). That's not a complaint - I'm glad it's free for those who use it responsibly.

And these aren't the normal scam people either. Unfortunately, they know how to write good, attractive, grammatically correct ads.

That may be more of a paper trail than they want to leave.

As long as they stick with the free site & having "clients" send money orders, there's not much of a way to trace them. If they use a credit card for one of the pay sites, they're nailed. There is no way a pay site is going to jeapordize their business (and their merchant account) to put up with their outright fraud.

And, for all we know, they may have tried it and found their card # blocked after complaints. x(
