I just received a message from a friend asking if I had ever heard of a guy who was just advertised on American Male Escorts. He's listed on May 31st as "Derek - Twin Cities".

My friend was curious because "Derek" told him via email that he had to go through -- you guessed it! -- Nationwide Boy Escorts. Here's a direct link:

So this is another one to add to the list of Nationwide scams.

Caveat Emptor!

American Male and Guys4rent are the main advertising sites for these scammers, because they are free for the escort to post.

One thing I will say about this jerk... he has pretty good taste. He steals the pics of hot boys, for the most part.

The way his scam operates... if you never send money in advance, you will never get scammed. It is pretty easy prevention actually.

Fun at Nationwide/Cupcake expense?

BG,

You might advise you friend to send a reply in a naieve tone to the effect -- Oh, that is too bad. You should disassoicate yourself immediately as a friend has told you that a related agency, Cupcake something or other, is being investigated by the OKC police and also by postal authorities for postal fraud.

AMEN to that brother! The ONLY time I saw a HOT TWINK boy advertised on Men4Rent/DC and responded, I got that old contact me via Nationwide Boys message, which, thanks to this site I knew what that meant! So disappointing, and message immediately deleted, but WTF! :(

Even before the scam alert, I never would agree to pay upfront for anyone, regardless of affiliation, but I'm experienced and am fairly sure I've heard it all in all it's iterations! :)

To quote Ricky Lee Jones:

"The HOTTER it looks"

"The HARDER it hooks"

"Easy Money"

P.S. I can't wait to hit Montreal, as twink boy escorts and DC are about as far apart as Alaska and Antartica! :(

TY:

It's my belief that these guys aren't real -- that they're all just pics used by the same guy to scam advance payments. Any messages undoubtedly go straight to him.

I simply told my friend to stay away... far, far away. :-)

Regards,

BG

I agree totally. Just thought about having some fun with the scamming creep.

No doubt the best policy.

Actually, BG, one of the sad fallouts of this scam is that some of the guys ARE real. There are pics of guys who are legitimate escorts (though in other cities and completely unrelated to nationwide or cupcake).

So when their images are used for this scam, they end up as a no-show somewhere else in the country, thus possibly damaging their credibility.

Some of the escort pics either currently used or used in the past by this guy includes Jared of Toronto, Sam of Montreal, Bryan Young of San Antonio, Ethan of DC, Chris Catcher of SF, and I could go on and on and on.

And, btw, I think TY knows the messages go straight to our friendly scammer... I think his post was jesting that a response like that could cause concern for the perp if he thought he was really being investigated.

He actually must violate some laws with what he is doing, and I would think the most serious one of all would be that he is NOT likely to have proof on file that some of those very young looking boys on his site are actually 18.

Oh, I agree. I just meant that I didn't think that email would go to any young guys -- just to the scammer himself.

I agree completely that it's completely unfair to the guys whose pics he's stealing. Most of them probably don't even know that their pics are being used at all.

The sad thing is that some of them do know and they're completely powerless to stop it.

Cupcake is a blight of the highest order on the current escort landscape, and is probably proud to be known as such. He's willfully deceptive, intentionally, and only intends to defraud with complete disregard to who gets hurt along the way.

He's a crook. If that's libel, fine. I'm saying it. He's a crook.

The recent crash deleted the thread(s) started by the the poster who was/is trying to smoke them out. Can anyone tell me what that poster's handle here is? Feel free to email me if you like. :o

Never mind. I just remembered his handle and forwarded the email reply to him.

I hope he resurrects that thread. The more convo we can have here about Nationwide/Cupcake the better chance there'll be of catching the bastard(s).

RE: Fun at Nationwide/Cupcake expense?

Deej: YOu are familiar with the porn industry. So maybe you know what arm of the law would go after him for posting pics on that site of several boys who clearly skirt the 18 yo border WITHOUT having their proof of age on file. I am sure he doesn't have that since he has pirated the pics.

RE: Fun at Nationwide/Cupcake expense?

He'd get in trouble with the law if he was actually offering under-age boys but he isn't. There's no known link between Nationwide/Cupcake and any of the guys on his site. Even if the FBI knocked on his door he could always claim ads were posted by website submissions.

(If "bait and switch" tactics could land you in jail, Boys Next Door in Denver would have gone down years ago. ;-))

He MIGHT be in shady areas with credit card processing and he's WAY over the line with geocities' terms of service. Enough emails to abuse@geocities.com might get his site shut down, but anyone putting THAT much effort into it will just be back.

It's tough to prove fraud for someone selling an illegal activity in the first place.

Unless you know someone named Guido with a tire iron, the best thing we can do is shine a REALLY REALLY BRIGHT spotlight on the operation and keep the heat on.

I understand this part... but isn't is illegal to post pics of nude guys without proof of age on file (especially if they really look like they might be under)? Isn't there a pornography law about keeping records? Or does that only apply to the photographer?

Don't know... that is why I am asking.

RE: Fun at Nationwide/Cupcake expense?

You're thinking of 18 U.S.C. 2257. I *think* it only applies to the producers (photographers, videographers, whatever). Been a while since I read it. Since Cupcake is using random pics he found on the net, I doubt it could be applied but IANAL.

He MIGHT be brought down if someone mails him a check, and then turns in a fraud complaint with the USPS. Their narcs are worse than anything the IRS has.

What further pisses me off is, I emailed AmericanMale early today to alert them (maybe others did too), but the guy's still listed. x( Maybe they only check their email once a day. If the guy's still there in two days, we'll know the AmericanMale webmaster doesn't give a fuck. I hope that's not the case, but if I'm wrong, we should all email him and let him know he's abetting a scam!

For that matter, as of this minute, the Yahoo geocities site is still up too:

http://geocities.com/str8boi4men/

Does anyone know how to file a complaint with Yahoo? }(
