Which websites do you like to use to check for escort listings?

 

I find I use Rentboy the most. It seems to be updated the most frequently and is absolutely dominant in New York City. It seems to have less impact in LA or there are just faw fewer escorts advertising. Other sites, which I had used in the past, seem to have gone under or I just lost track of them.

 

There was one I used to use that had something like 'staff certified' photos, which may not have been all that reliable, but it was better than some of the others which have the same pic for three different guys. Does the 'certified' site still exist?

 

Of the agency sites, I think Premiere is great, but I have never tried any of the agencies in NYC. The agency I used to use in LA to reach a fantastic escort named Braxton has disappeared.

 

I need to mark some of these sites as favorites, so I am not reminded so frequently that I have a lousy memory.

I've principally used this site for escorts based on the reviews as well as the information given in the Message Center. I've gone to Rentboy.com and MeetLocalMen but have engaged few hotties from the latter two sites.

 

I like Maximum.com in NYC and would really like to get with Ross and a few others from this particular site and will whenever I get back to the "Big Apple." I had planned to go there next month for interviews but have to opt out of this and go to SF instead for this job-related venture. You can believe that I shall see some scorts when I go to my favorite city which is only a two hrs.' drive from where I reside!

Richard, as my own post on this subject indicates, some sites are "better", i.e. have more complete "coverage" in some markets, than others. I agree that Rentboy predominates in certain markets, but for most of the country, the competition during much of the last year seems to have been between men4rentnow and americanmale. As I noted in my own post, I think americanmale is clearly winning that battle.

I'd pretty much agree. AmericanMale went through a period where searching in LA would yield page after page where 8 of 10 were NOT in LA (and I had the same experience searching other cities) but they seem to have that fixed. Searching just now, I see that m4rentnow seems to be having the same geographic confusion.

 

I'll add that I recently helped a new escort set up his online advertising. The easiest by far was rentboy, but there are extenuating circumstances there. AmericanMale came in a close second.

 

For the others, he's still trying. That could explain a lot about why the sites aren't maybe as current as they should be. They're a PAIN IN THE ASS to deal with! x(

Been there, done that, as you know. But he avoided the pay-to-list sites, of which rentboy is one. x( (At that time, men4rentnow was still free-to-list).

 

Assuming americanmale is now the leading free-to-list site with the best coverage in most (but not all) markets, let's hope that they keep their info both up to date and market-specific. If they do that, they've got a winner, IMHO.

I use men4rentnow then rentboy. Once in a blue moon I'll check Americanmale.net. Although they have improved, I find they still have a too much dead wood listed and and fewer guys listed too. I find men4rentnow variable. The ACTIVE Boston listings are roughly a third of what used to be listed pre pay-to-list days. For DC it is about 50%. I haven't checked the stats for NYC or Miami. The good news is that the active listings are always in the front and it is easy to determine the inactive ones. IMO they seem to have more 'new faces' pop up than Rentboy and the faces tend to be a little different in type on average. Rentboy is always current -- a big plus -- but effectively limited to the bigger markets.

 

I use Hoo Boy's for follow-up to 'check references' but I seldom use it for initial shopping anymore. I find the listings have grown too large and cumbersome to sift through as they are currently configured. Too many names without index pics or with any pics for that matter. I like to see a pic when shopping. And too many dated entries to open reviews for basic info: age top/bottom, rate, etc. IMO including an index pic, when available, is necessary for a first line shopping catalog. Also IMO very helpful for this site is a 'last review date' in the index listing to cut down on 'old goose chases'. :+

One more point...

 

When I was new to the scene I stuck very close to the guys reviewed on this site when making selections. The few times I didn't led to more disappointments though still not a majority. Now, reviews are not that important to me -- nice but not essential. There are too many hot guys out there to pass up for that reason. Caution and communication are important in the selection process and the willingness to call it off if it doesnt seem right -- like a request for money up front or some of the story changes on arrival. This has seldom happened with up front communication but when it does, I pull the plug. I have met some hot guys and some really great guys that I would not have met if reviews were a requirement. And I met a few that were not that memorable beyond the appointment. No real disappointments though.

American male has gotten alot better here recently, but this site is by far the best when looking for solid information to narrow down your shopping. It would be nice if Hooboy would do some editing in the review section, I have found alot of reviews that are 2-3 years old and clearly of guys no longer escorting. It would be nice if the state reviews could be sorted by years, therefore, emilinating or moving to the rear the guys who are dead wood. My experience with hiring led me to a guy who wasn't reviewed on here and he is clearly without a doubt the gold standard in my book, and I know I would hard pressed to find an escort as nice as him.

For some reason, I am not blessed with a lot of clients who are comfortable posting reviews on the internet. Most of them wouldn't even come here to read the reviews because of the trail it would leave in their computers. Also, a majority of my clientelle right now are customers who have been with me for years. Whenever I see a new client, I do check to see if he would like the address for this site. About half of them take the address. Etc. Anyway, my point here, and I do have one, is that I am not retired but my last review on this site was so long ago that I would feel odd sending in a new picture to pull those reviews into the daily newest review section.

 

HooBoy does periodically send out a confirmation form to make sure that I am still plugging in there, so to speak. So he does edit. Perhaps the question actually should be whether he should do it more often.
