Atlanta escorts--why so bad?

I thought about putting this in "Ask an escort" except I though clients might have ideas, too. Past threads have explored the limitations of escorts in other cities, recent hassles her made me think what about Atlanta?

 

What actually goit me started was a conversation with an out of town escort who was here. He wondered what the locals were like and it got me thinking--most of my bad experiences have been here in Atlanta (Wash DC is the only other place that's any where near as problematic).

 

When I first moved here, I had time on my hands, knew few people even slightly and had some extra spending money--so I hired. My interests are pretty vanilla and my taste in age, build, etc. is fairly ecelectic so I hired some pretty different guys. But, as a group they were barely OK to really awful. Here's waht I recall (all guys who are stillin the biz)

 

* An ex pornstar (Jamie Wingo who drifts in & out of escorting) basically did a wam-bam-thank-yo-man number, which I later learned was typical of him.

* "Austin" from rentboy looked nothing like his picture and was pretty robotic.

* John who periodically reappears in "David" magazine appeared to be tweaked and also was robotic.

* JR (still in Rentboy) was pretty disengaged, but came the closest to delivering a decent appointment.

 

My later (very occasional experiences) were usually better than these, although there often was a problem---last minute schedule change, no show, etc. Until my last road experience, all my recent out-of-town experiences have been pretty positive. So have my times with visiting out of towners. Atlanta has certainly had its share of clinkers on this borad, like "Nick" and I've notices stray comments about no shows and other problems with local escorts, although they never made it into reviews.

 

Here are my hypotheses about Atlanta & escorts, let me know if any make sense or if something else might be going on:

 

1.) Gay men in Atlanta tend to view other gay Atlanta guys as heavily weighted toward tweakers or circuit boys, so if the stereotype fits, the escorts will be flakes and party boys too.

 

2.) Gay men in Atlanta tend to view other gay Atlanta guys as heavily weighted toward tweakers or circuit boys, so if the stereotype fits, the escorts will be leary of local guys (which would explain the no shows and problems with email and call backs).

 

3.) Atlanta is a convention town; alot of business visitors will never be back again, so if you're at a hotel, a lot of escorts will feel they don't have to think about repeat business.

 

4.) Customer service in all areas is pretty bad in Atlanta and it's a town where making an easy buck is revered, escorts aren't necessarily going to be any different.

Well I am not a "local" but I travel to Atlanta a couple of times a year. Actually I think that 3 of the BEST Escorts are in Atlanta.

Unfortunately, most escorts here are not Tony Cummings (he's never done much for me on video, so I was never interested in hiring).
