FYI - now that a second wave of escorts have had their "free trial" premium listing expire, this is where things seem to stand:

 

About 75% of the escorts who come up as actively available (a number slightly below 1700 out of some 2800+ actually on the site) are not able to be contacted by clients since they are either not currently under a free trial or not currently paying to advertise.

 

Actually available are those escorts who have recently logged into their account in the last month or so versus the "CRUISE" tab which gives you EVERY escort listed on the site (approximately 1000 more in total), which may include fake listings, dead listings, etc.

 

What all of this means to clients is that throughout ALL of the cities and countries listed on the site, only approximately 275 escorts can actually be approached.

given the response to my free trial, i paid for a month. other than a VERY brief stint with rentboy, this is the first time i've ever paid for an ad. i'm going to keep track of the ROI for about 3 weeks, and then decide whether or not to cancel the recurring premium membership.

Men 4 Rent Now has several ways to find an escort.

 

1. Cruise Ads lets you search withing all the uploaded advertisements, including escorts, massuers, models, etc. The total number presently listed on the site is 2804.

 

2. Available Now, on the other hand, is a listing of men current making themselves available, and on the Men 4 Rent Now web site is based (as it is often based on the sex and cruise hook up sites) on when the "advertisers" are logging on. That is why there are only 1688 men (escorts, massuers, etc.) listed, versus the 2804 total available.

 

Obviously, this signifies that some of these ads are both for men who are not that active with their pursuit of clients, do not have the patience, time, or desire to indicate themselves as "actively" available, or are ads which might be old, cranks, or otherwise not genuine.

 

3. Search also gives you the total number of advertisers, that is 2804, except you can narrow your search by age and other personal stats, geography, and services offered, among other possibilities.

 

There are several other options, but these get more esoteric than I believe are currently helpful to clients.

 

As for how I know 75 percent of the smaller number (1688 actively available escorts) is based on simple math and simple measurements: any escort listed without a telephone contact number is also almost assuredly an escort who is not and has not paid for an advertisement on Men 4 Rent Now and/or is also not, at present, receiving a free trial.

 

Men 4 Rent Now is not allowing clients to contact any escort who does not pay for a listing. Thus, they also had to remove contact telephone information. In some instances, it is clearly missing, in other instances, the information is not even listed as being missed.

 

My surmise is that ALL listings on Men 4 Rent Now which simply show SERVICES PROVIDED and AVAILABILITY on the far right hand side of their listing are men who decided not to pay for advertising and, thus, clients have no way of actually contacting these escorts, at least through Men 4 Rent Now.

 

While there are definitely escorts who are paying for advertisements, a fair number of the balance also includes new escorts (often designated with a "NEW" balloon blurb on their listing) who are using a promotional code or otherwise have obtained a free listing or are presently engaging in a free trial period.

I thought that "Available Now" worked off of each escort's Availability information in the lower right corner of every profile. If I'm surfing the Available Now tab on Sunday morning at 4:00 AM I won't see any escort who doesn't have the Sunday 3am - 7am box checked.

Most escorts eventually check EACH and EVERYONE one of the available boxes, first of all, and secondly, as you will notice, the top of the search will give you approximately 4 to 8 escorts who pop up as "ON LINE NOW." The software for Men 4 Rent Now is very similar to the software they use for their original and primary site, one which men use to cruise and look for sex without pay, Men 4 Sex Now. Similar sites (such as M4M4Sex, Sex4HotMen and others - or so I presume, since I will admit I am not familiar with this new one called adam4adam and a few others) also do the same thing: when men are on line and looking for sex, they come up in a search, presumably making it easier for men to get laid. It works on a last logged in basis, so someone who logged in to site two weeks ago (versus earlier that day) is identified to the prospective cruiser, thus this gentlemen can decide if he wants to attempt to contact the guy knowing he does not check into the site that frequently to either read his e-mail or view other members photographs.

 

Thus, with Men 4 Rent Now, the AVAILABLE NOW incorporates the escorts who have been logging in recently; this is why the number of escorts who come up is over 1000 listing less than the total number of listings on the site.

That would explain why the number of guys who are rotated on their home page (9 per page) has shrunk dramatically. Actually, I'd be surprised if the number of guys rotated on a daily basis is even 275. If I check the site a dozen times a day, I see soooo many of the same faces over and over again.

 

I guess I don't understand their business logic. They obviously made extraordinary efforts to identify and entice guys to get listed for free originally -- more than any other site, by a long shot -- and now they're in the position of hoping that all that work will result in enough paying guys to justify the investment. Hmmm...one wonders what will happen.

Here is their logic:

 

275 x $30 = $ 8250 per month

 

$8250 x 12 = $ 99000 per year

Yeah, I can do the math. $100K/year would be a nice additional income stream for them I'm sure, but at the rate escorts apparently are falling off the site, it could well be half that or less in 11 months - and that's gross revenue. I don't pretend to know the economics of sites which rely primarily/exclusively on ad revenue, but it seems to me that these guys have probably the best data base of escorts that exists and that content surely resulted in a helluva lot of hits/day. And the fact that they allowed viewers to see XXX pics at no charge certainly drove the number of hits up farther.

 

Anyone care to weigh in on the relative economics of the two business models? :o

M4Rent is certainly not worth $29.97 a month... Not when considering their ad stats~

 

Just take some time and look into most site statistics and you'll have your answer whether to spend the money to advertise with them. As much as i enjoy their layout, i also found most of their escorts advertised to be 'one-nighters,' or guys who did it on a whim, while drunk or go totally unactive once posted.

 

Basically, the site is filled with wasted space.

 

In any event, i'm quite happy with HB's site still reigning as THE foremost authority on finding a quality escort. I'm certain this site will remain so, even in the recent event of many new listing sites popping up. HB's kicking ass & taking names

Sites like m4rn are one way for new guys to be "discovered" and Reviewed here. From what we all hear, you don't have to worry about the competition. }(

Me comment on the site. I have renewed an pay for advertisement on the site. I have gotten many clients off the site especially when travel. I dont know how they market getting traffic to the site but it does bring forth quality clients. ME MUST SAY I AM VERY GLAD THAT THEY CHARGE TO BE LISTED. What they charge is not much to a QUALITY ESCORT, because there justify in revenue brought by the site to cover the cost. CHARGING ON ESCORT SITES weeds out the amature or fake ads for people that are not true serious escorts. The only thing I feel that men4rentnow should do is after 1 month if the escort has not paid the ad that they should REMOVE THE AD ALL TOGETHER. Clients dont need to read through a bunch of ads that cant do anything. I know the people at RENTBOY.COM they are very professional an they REQUIRE escorts to pay to list on there site for which its TOPS the list w/ reputable quality clients, If you dont pay on RENTBOY.COM your ad is REMOVED an not reposted till payment is made. :-) :-)

And that's the point. Men4rentnow leaves the unpaid ads out by design. They're deliberately depending on old ads to fatten up their content. They're also hoping that by acting between client and escort they can encourage owners of old ads to renew. For clients that means there are a lot of dead ads.

 

If Men4rentnow is good for your business, good for you. I wouldn't encourage support of a site that makes finding escorts even more of a crapshoot than it already is.

i advised m4rn that i'll cancel my recurring billing if they don't include my website URL in my ad. i'm tired of hundreds of emails a day asking for nothing other than my website. the number of actual engagements from m4rn still warrants keeping the ad, but i'm fed up with all of the requests for the URL.
