Hi there guys,

I wonder if you can help me. I'm graduating this year and had a offer to teach English in Japan. It seems intirguing, and I was thinking about also possibly escorting there. Is there a market in Japan for me? I'm 23 6'1 165lbs, gwm, dark blonde, green eyes. All the escorts that seem in be listed in Japan are Asian.

Sure, if you're going to be in one of the big cities. There's always a market for someone "exotic," which you will be. Not everyone will be attracted to you, of course, but there should be enough that you can supplement your income. Also, there will be a market among traveling foreigners who aren't attracted to Asians. I'd be surprised if you got rich escorting in Japan, but certainly you'll be able to attract some customers. To advertise your services to foreigners, you might want to ply your wares on Gaydar and Rentboy. I'll leave it to other readers here to advise you how to advertise to the Japanese market!

Good luck!

No you are too tall, unless you focus on the ex-pat market, but any ex-pat in Japan is probably an Asia-phile anyway.

I haven't been there for a while. I can assure you that all things american still have a special interest. With Godzilla here you can go there. The japanese like scotch, so they developed their own. They like big cars, so they had to widened the roads. They build up now, instead of out, as they are limited for space.

I get me a Japanese rentboy on occassion, and saw him yesterday.

Try it. All the people I know who go there for business have liked it.

1 - if you are inexperienced in this profession - which I suspect u r ??? Japan could be both rewarding and overwhelming - getting around is a nightmare in the cities that matter, takes a very long time and I suspect you would encounter some major challenges developing an understanding of neighborhoods, etc. The only thing u have going for u so far, if your a bottom and inexperienced u will encounter very little pain being topped by the average local / all of whom are 'smaller' than the average North American or European. I know ... I know - all of you PC freaks will scream at me for stating the obvious - SO CHILL OUT ! ! !

2 - why would you think about starting your escort career in a completely strange / foreign environment where the day to day challenges of adjusting to a VERY unique culture / social mores will be quite demanding ???

3 -u have obviously been curious about the escorting lifestyle and the opportunities it may present . . . so take it advantage of doing a little home work and practice on the local turf. If you decide to try things out in Toronto - let us know - I am there at least once a month and would luv to check u out - there is a shortage of clever, charming college boys ???

Well, maybe the ex-pat market is Asian-phile, but travellers, especially business ones, are not always. For one, when I was in business and visiting Japan, I missed having Caucasian escorts or erotic masseurs. Japanese men just don't do it for me and I am sure there are many others similarly inclined. Nothing racist, just the look. So advertise appropriately, especially on the net, and you should get some extra spending $$, which you will need if you live in one of the larger centres.

I understand that the Japanese pay a high primium for blond dancers and escorts. I think you can make a bundle. How blond are you? Try highlights. But is escorting consistent with teaching? In the US a teacher found to be doing escorting (worse, gay escorting) would be out the door immediately, with a permanent mark on his teaching record. I doubt if it is different in Japan. If so, you will have to walk a tight-wire to keep from being discovered, and you are risking the job and your future career. Make sure you set enough aside to pay your way back home. In the meantime, how do I contact you? I am a sucker for young, tall, blonds (pun intended).

Single men in Japan normally live with their parents, and of course married men live with their wives, so you will probably have to do in-calls at your place, if you have an appropriate residence (otherwise, it has to be western-style hotels). You will need to be very discreet, but you can always explain that the guys are coming to your place for English lessons.

RE: Benriya?

There is a job category in Japan that really doesn't seem to exist in Houston yet - the handyman, Benriya. They do everything you could think of and then some (except, I suppose, for sex). The article I saw about them mentioned (if I remember correctly)a time when one of them was called to kill and dispose of a cockroach in someone's livingroom. And professional party guests and mourners? I'm not going to totally reread it right now, but it was in the Houston Chronicle, syndicated from the Los Angeles Times, on October 12 of this year. It sounds like a really neat job for someone who loves variety. I keep wondering how I might get something like that started here. I guess I could become a personal shopper just in time for the holidays, but that's such just a part of it.

Have you ever seen the size of beds, let alone hotel rooms, let alone prices of such in Japan even in western hotels? Can you say "prohibitive"?

Yes, but the non-western ones only fit non-western people in my experience!:-) And while I have not been in Japan in over a year, the prices I recall in western hotels were more expensive than NY, and much closer to London or Paris rates.

Hi there guys,

Thanks for the comments, and the answers. I'll keep them all in mind. To answer the question from the gentleman from Toronto, I don't have too much experience in the escorting field, but have done it here and there in between my course workload. Anyways thanks again.

I should add, that I have heard stories that organized crime in Japan sometimes kidnaps blonds, male and female to serve in their brothels.

They may just be stories and I do not know how you could go about learning more about it. But if there is any truth to it, out-calls would take on additional danger.

Hello CollegeToronto

It is not the same the escort business in Japan and the escort in Canada, the hotel in Japen really expensive, most of the Japanese don't stay at the hotel, and most of the home in Japan is really small and a lot of the un-marry guys (like...gay guys) living with family. so even they want to hire you, they will have no place to go, more then that...Japanese is not as open mind as Canadian, you need to play a lot "guessing game" with them,it's not fun. but on another hand if you are really good on what you doing, I don't see why not, good luck. (send me an e-mail, I tell you some tip how to living to Japan)

Axebahia: for your information, the young Japanese is as tall as you and me.

As like I say, the Japanese wasn't as open mind as the people here in US and Canada, most of the hourly hotel (Lovehotel) in Japan won't rent to two guys

No doubt Asians are getting taller on average, but when I am in an ANA airplane, a restaurant, the Tokyo subway or a Japanese hotel, I feel like I am in a miniture village. Sorry, if that's not PC.
