I agree. That is why I get annoyed by those on this Board who say that an escort who says "versatile" is not prepared to "bottom" when he shows up at the door. It is safer all around if folks do not have to engage in specific explicit questions.

Out of curiousity, I usually have the money laying on a dresser or some such, having discussed rates beforehand. If the money is not mentioned, but you go into sex when the "escort-cop" arrives what laws are you violating?

Hmm... none, I think... But a cop would ask about the money, and if you point it out have you then violated any laws?

The other problem with this is that a more observant escort may pocket the money up front, or head out early and take it with him; without providing satisfactory (or any) service. These are the main reasons I generally refuse to pay up front, but I *think* (I'm no expert, hopefully that's settled...) that simply agreeing to pay can be enough to convict. And it's my impression any excuse can be enough for some to arrest, which could be pretty bad in itself.

It's great when there doesn't have to be any discussion of money, using this site works well for that since you should see the price in an escort's review(s). Even picking guys up at places like the Spotlight or on the street I've had a couple encounters where we didn't even discuss $$ until after. You'd think that could be problematic, and I'm sure it can, but I haven't had trouble the couple of times it's worked out like that.

:-) I’m not really sure, but here’s what I recommend. I’ve never heard of a gay john getting in trouble, but I do worry about that.

1. Make sure that your escort has been advertising for some time, say at least six months. If something’s not kosher, I think that either you would have heard, or the ad would have been pulled.

2. See if he’s been in any porn. If he has, he’s almost certainly legitimate.

3. See if he has a review on this site. Unfortunately, there have been some fake reviews reported. I don’t think that an undercover operation would go so far as to place a review here (can’t say for sure that they wouldn’t).

4. Try to use escorts recommended by friends (that you’ve known for while).
