Hey Guyzzzzzzzzz!

OK, I'm also traveling to Vegas for the first time, and would greatly appreciate your advice here too.

First question, do I need a car?

Second question, would you recommend staying in the vicinity around UNLV, or perhaps the Convention Center?

Thanks a million!!!

I grew up in Las Vegas (and San Diego), if you stay in the areas you mentioned you might need a car. Why are you considering these areas? They are not exactly near anything keeping in mind that nothing is too far anyway. But you just removed yourself from the main area of the strip or downtown. Even Henderson would be a better place to stay for an escort as that is a large residentail area.

Have fun though.

I concur you are staying out aways for not having a car or deciding whether if you need one. I have been to Vegas many times some with cars and some without. I have stayed at Flamigo Hilton and also Monte Carlo. Both were nice and reasonable room rates. I like the Flamingo for its close ness to everything elese while it is a little older than some of the ohter places I thought it was very nice and clean and convient. It is not that far from the gay area. HUGS Chuck

Utopia,

For some reason, I had this idea it would be better to stay away from the strip. The fact is, I would like some peace and quiet while in Vegas, away from the gambling and the tourist ruckus.

I'll think about Henderson, but I'd be concerned that it would be too far away from busniness traveler's staying in the Strip (however local for Vegas residents).

Thanks VERY MUCH for your input...

Chuck,

Thanks VERY MUCH for your input. As I had written to Utopia, I would like some peace and quiet while in Vegas. Gambling is not a my to do list. Convenience, however, is something I want too.

Needless to say, I need to think about it

Hi Danny,

If you stay on the strip, you will be where the action is. If you are looking for clients, there is where most will be found. I do not feel a car is necessary. There is easy bus service up and down the strip. If you want to make a trip out of Vegas to surrounding area, a car might be necessary tho there are some good tours to Hoover Dam etc. Have been to Vegas many times and enjoyed it. Rooms in casino hotels, I found, were quiet and there are other quiet areas.

Danny it is hard to know exactly why you are coming to LV from your post. If you stay on the strip there is no reason for a car. You can walk, taxi or take a bus to just about any hotel for a few dollars. Henderson Green Valley is a large residential area and people can taxi from the strip there for about 20. maybe 25.

If you are there to work and expect the majority of your business to come from tourist stay on the strip plus locals don't mind driving to the strip to meet you. I won't bother suggesting a hotel as everyone has there favorites. If you will be there between Sun-Thur the prices are very reasonable .. and if you use Priceline you can get a great deal.

An alternative suggestion would be to stay just off the strip, away fromt he traffic and a taxi ride to anywhere. My suggestion there would bere the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It's a fun place, away from the strip traffic and at the same time very close to everything including the airport.

I hope some of this helps.

Another Vote for The Strip

I also like peace and quiet but I like to people watch and I enjoy being around them as well. One thing to dislike about the casinos is all the smoke. The gambling itself can also be both annoying and distracting, but in four trip to Las Vegas in the last twelve months, the fact that I do not gamble has not been a problem. The shows can be great and the casinos can be both interesting to explore as can be the shopping and dining opportunities. The buffets themselves are particularly interesting and if you want some advice, please write me directly and I can recommend a few places, but one which stands out, albeit an expensive one, is The Bellagio, particularly if you are looking for more substantially healthy, low fat buffet options.

The one time I got a car was due to the fact that I wanted to do some hiking at some areas outside the suburban area, one of which was a 55 mile drive away. On my other stays, I found no problem getting to and from the airport and otherwise getting around without a car. Local clients were willing to come to me or pay for cab fare, and the tourists were, as you said, either willing to come to me (especially the highly closeted straight men there with co-workers) or were within walking or shuttle difference on the strip. There is a low coast shuttle which will take you to your hotel for about $15 roundtrip and city buses run up and down the strip all day and night as well as monrail and shuttle services between certain properties.

As far as hotels, I would not use Priceline in Las Vegas. You can search for rates and properties on this particular site:

http://reservations.lasvegas.com

Once you find some rates you like, go to that particular property's web site and you can often can even better rates there. I once stayed at the Monte Carlo for $33 a night. It is a perfectly serviceable 2.5 - 3 star quality hotel. While the Flamingo has a certain camp value and is well situated, I think you can find good rates at nicer hotels on that end of the strip.

If you really want to be away from the strip, you might want to consider the Rio or the Palm, although the Hard Rock is a good suggestion. You can find deals on the Rio, but I doubt you will find a really great price for either the Palm or the Hard Rock.

Finally, another thing to keep in mind, and another reason not to use Priceline, is that many of the properties will want to charge you through the nose to connect on local phone calls via dial up service. Some charge for the connection, then charge by the minute either at the first minute or after the first hour. Very few hotels (the Rio being one) offer high speed service (for a reasonable fee at the Rio) in rooms, so plan on being off line for substantial periods or plan on spending a lot of money to be connected regularly to the web.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

RE: Another Vote for The Strip

Danny, there is a new all gay hotel that just opened up on the strip, I think is the Blue Moon or something like that. I'm sure you can find it on the net if you look. An escort/dancer friend did not stay there but visited it a couple of times while he was there and said it was very nice with a lot a great looking guys running around<G>. I agree Hard Rock is very nice, off the strip, and is close to all the gay bars in Vegas if that is what you are into. Have a great time!:+

You dont need one a good service from the AIrport will bring you to your hotel and it is reasonable. I dont really gamble either but you would have to walk through the casino in most any hotel to get to your room. I have never felt like it was loud. I have stayed in the average room and I have stayed in the SPA suites in MOnte Carlo which are very nice but normally out of the price range unless someone else wants to spoil you. You can walk most places along the strip and also a very convient bus service. Neither hotel was hard to have visitors. So good luck and let us know how you make out. HUGS Chuck

RE: Another Vote for The Strip

Hey Danny,

Just remembered that a year ago last May, I got a great suite in the Strium of the New Frotnier for a mere $55 dollars a night. Could not believe it. Location next to the plaza is great. But have also stayed at other places. The Hilton is quiet and just off north end of the strip. Hope you have a great time.:+

There are two more reasons to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. During the summer and fall it has the best swimming pool in LV. The name of the hotel scares away all the old folks and families. So the hotel appeals entirely to young singles. The swimming pool is literaly packed with young, tan, muscle boys and single women, especially on week ends. Get out there early or the chairs will be gone and you will have to sit at the bar and rub elbows with the muscle boys. If you go to their website (use google), they have a live "bikini cam" showing live camera shots of their swimming pool. Second, the hotel is a block from the "fruit loop", a collection of about 5 gay bars, including Gypsy and Icon, and a couple of gay stores. Don't rent a car until you get to your hotel. Taxis are easier, but if you need a car, you can rent from the hotel.

Merlin,

Thanks for the suggestion on the Hard Rock! Lions and tigers and HOT MEN.......OH MY!!! I'll give it a serious thought.

I've booked a room at the Flamingo Hotel for the first three days, after FrancoDiSantis suggested I reserve on lasvegas.com. Apparently, staying around the strip is important for work purposes. Finally, the Flamingo has tennis courts, and I've hired a hitting partner during my stay.

However, I'll need to book a room over the weekend, and for that I'll think about the Hard Rock...

Regards,

Hotels prices in Las Vegas are very volatile based totally on supply and demand with prices changing on a daily if not hourly basis, Friday and Saturdays are usually twice the mid-week price unless there is a Major convention in town mid-week. The same hotel can be $59 One Day and $259 the next. The best place for rates is http://www.travelscape.com which is the Las Vegas Head office based hotel network of http://www.Expedia.com, it's also used by AA.com. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to by a flight and hotel package at the same time, as the hotels give tour operators a different less flexible rate. It can be higher when hotels are Soft -Low Occupancy, but then lower when hotels are expecting high occupancy.

Personally I love the Paris, great atmosphere and nice Bistro overlooking the Bellagio Water Show.

DallasTony...

Thanks for the information! I'm checking out the website right now, as I do need to book a hotel room for next weekend.

And Tony, I'm coming to Texas at the end of October and early November. I plan to visit Dalls, Austin, and Houston. Having never been there, could you possibly give me some advice on the escorting scene, where to stay etc??? I'd surely appreciate it.

Give me a buzz, or shoot me an email.

Thanks again...

Danny by now you will have discovered rooms are expensive this weekend 12-14 September in Las Vegas, The General Motors Convention is in town, I'm sorry to advise you will have to pay around $200 a night for any 4 star Plus Hotel.

re Dallas, I am presently based out of Miami, my only knowledge of Dallas Escorts are the Stripper at Zippers and Crews.

Happy Hunting in Vegas

Danny, I have seen "O" the last three times I have brought escorts to Vegas with me and I still love it, it is by far the best show in Vegas! The best seats(first show we saw we were on the front row)to me are not the lower but the upper level seats, you can see the swimmers in the water and what they are doing. There are a lot of cute guys in their tight body suits also<G>! Have a great time, too bad I'm not there, I'd love to take ya.}(
