DC's Lafayette Park

A few years ago Lafayette Park directly across Pennsylvania Ave was

THE place in DC to find hustlers on any given night after dark. I

will be visiting DC soon and am curious if that's where they gather

to await clients.

 

Also, I am not familiar with the DuPont Circle area but have an inkling that hustlers work there too.

Man, I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but the street hustler scene in DC died years ago. As far as Lafayette Park, I never remember it as being a street hustler place. It was a gay cruising area but that was 30 years ago and at that time the street hustler scene was 4 blocks east in the area centered around the Trailways and Greyhound bus terminals and the Naples Cafe.

 

You're also not going to find much action on the streets (P St.) in Dupont Circle, as most of those who hang there now (and they are very few) are not really someone who is going to attract you, unless you're into scraggly, older, druggie hustlers that are mostly out to steal your money. It might be possible to find a decent guy there who is relying on outdate info such as you are doing, but you have a better chance of spinning straw into gold than encountering one of these. x(

Boy does that bring back memories!

 

The street action survived the closing of Trailways and the construction of the convention center. But once the Chesapeake House closed, it dried up and disappeared completely.

 

I'd occasionally see a few of my favorites down in the Navy Yard area after that but it really died on the vine and REAL SUDDENLY. It was like someone flipped a switch.

 

But, oh the memories! :7

Ironically, about the only dick you will find in Lafayette Park these days is named Bush }( But, trust me, he is a REALLY BIG DICK!!
