Today's negative review of Byron Lorentz follows many other negative reviews. It makes you wonder why the reviewer ever thought to hire him. The negative reviews tend to read alike...he's nice on the phone, then wants his money up front and more than he had asked for. Then he won't do anything and leaves after several minutes. Three times the reviewers say "like an idiot, I paid him." Duh.

I never pay up front. EVER. But, I can understand why some guys ask that as they too have been stiffed. But, for me, if someone doesn't know I am a good guy in 5 minutes after meeting me and they want money up front, I would either say I don't don't do that, or I would show them the door.

The exception would be if I were hiring someone to fly into NYC that I haven't seen before. I think a token of good gesture for someone with a good reputation would be kind and acceptable.

Not really, L. What is this website, after all, but a catalog of stories of people who take foolish risks in order to satisfy their physical desires? When all is said and done, that's what it adds up to, no?

Given that we live in an era when one can catch a terminal disease by having sex, given that gay men are among those at high risk as carriers of the disease, given that gay prostitutes have many more gay sex partners than the average gay man, what activity can you think of that would be riskier than having sex with a gay prostitute? One could argue that the client Lucky started this thread to insult has shown uncommon wisdom by picking a hooker who was likely to take the money and run.

While I agree with you on the taking the money and running part. I disagree with you on your suggestion that escorts have more sex than others. I think that is not the case in many circumstance. In many cases, I know of escorts who have far less sex than their same age counterparts. Reason? Perhaps, they are saving it up for the clients. Perhaps they are less sexual since they work in the sex industry. Perhaps the just are not that sexual. I know too many young guys who do not escort that have much more sex than the majority of guys I have hired. I am not saying this a scientific study, just my own personal observation.

Woodie, how do I insult a guy who already admits that he is an idiot? Yes, I did wonder why he chose to see this guy given the negative reviews. But I was also curious as to the use of the same phrase in three reviews. Is one person behind them, perhaps re-writing the review due to his dissatisfaction with the escort?

However, I realize that as usual I am inadequate in your eyes to the task. I do take comfort in the fact that you continue to read my posts. Around here, that's a real compliment. Thanks, woody!

Lucky--whatcha expect from a queeny school teacher? It's in his nature to correct and belittle -- speaking much and saying very little:+

As to your post however, I think there must be some sorta fatal attraction with some guys and bad reviewEES :)--they read BAD reviews and they think that they are different and exempt from what the reviewer was complaining of -- or maybe they are just idots :+

Unlike you, right oh wise sage? :( You, imo, have the most belittling condescending, know all attitude of any one who posts on this message board. Why else do you castigate/belittle school teachers/university professors and anyone else who disagrees with you and brand them as queeny? All this from someone who's only experience with gay men, most likely, has been the escort scene?

And how the hell do you know anything about Woodlawn, as you have never met him, but you are so damn quick to criticize others, call others defensive and take offense at the statements of others, no matter the true intent of those statements? All this criticism from someone who wouldn't know a queen if she came up and crowned you with her scepter, as you have such a vast experience of being in the gay world.

Well, excuse me, but just because you are an attorney doesn't make you better than others, or all knowing and wise. Your condescending attitude is way past insufferable. :( But go ahead and launch an attack back at me, as you most likely will, but know ahead of time that I will ignore your total snobbery and superior attitude.

Well, I don't believe the escort in question had all bad reviews did he?, or did you just read the last couple? But of course, we should all bow to your superior knowledge not only in law but psychology as well.

:o

By creating an entire thread to call attention to it?

Not at all. When it comes to the task of posting pointless insults, I find you more than adequate.

This reminds me of a story about President Lincoln. He was obliged to appoint a certain politically powerful gentleman to his cabinet, but was concerned about rumors that this gentleman had misappropriated public funds in the past. He asked a friend whether he thought the gentleman in question would actually steal. The reply was, "Well, I don't think he would steal a red-hot stove." This remark made its way back to the gentleman in question, who demanded an apology. Lincoln's friend replied, "Very well, I apologize for saying you wouldn't steal a red-hot stove."

That story always makes me think of you.

:)
