I don't think Christian was even working for Premiere when this happened. So why is this a black eye for them? And why would they investigate Premiere when the man was murdered in D.C.?

No, he did work for Premiere under the name of Christian. If I remember correctly, he left Premiere under some troubling circumstances, only to return and leave yet again. I think he was a troubled young man for whatever reason. But, he definitely worked for Premiere.
