The new Asian Art Museum has just opened in the Civic Center. It occupies the old main library, and was remodeled and refurbished by Gae Aulenti, the architect who did the Orsay Museum in Paris (converting an old railroad station into an art museum).

Sorry, the name's escaped me, but there's a big new center in Napa (sponsored by the Mondavi Family, among others) dedicated to the enjoyment of food and wine.

Check the pullout entertainment section of the S.F. Sunday Chronicle for a complete listing of cultural events and attractions in the Bay Area. You should find more than enough to keep you busy!

Napa * SF * Masculine Tops

There are a number of hot springs, including, of course, Calistoga, as well as a number of spas. However, those can be expensive. If you want an interesting experience, with a "hippie" undercurrent, you can check out a place called Harbin Hot Springs, which is clothing optional and very inexpensive but rustic and not at all plush.

Pacific Coast Highway from Napa and Solono Counties back towards the Golden Gate Bridge has some of the most beautiful dirving you can find. In addition, there are a number of great little towns like Guerneville, Sebastapol, St. Helene, etc., which are great for people watching, curios and antiques or simply exploring. Many of the wineries offers tours and wine tasting and as Trilingual recommended, the Mondavi center is excellent.

San Francisco has any number of options, from a world class Modern Art museum, a newly redesigned Ferry Building, one of the largest and most attractive urban parks after Central Park, ferry rides between San Francsico and Larkspur and San Francisco, Alcatraz, the trolly cars.

I would strongly urge you to check out the San Francisco Bay Guardian (http://www.sfbg.com/) and San Francisco Chronicle (http://www.sfgate.com) on line as to any special events when you are in the city and get very comfortable shoes, some light but warm clothes, and a good guidebook. Let's Go and Access San Francisco are both excellent examples, particularly Access, as far as planning both sightseeing, eating and other activities in a coordinated manner.

San Francisco is a really wonderful city and no visit there would be complete withou checking out the gay areas, including the Castro.

If you want twinks who are also masculine tops, I cannot make any suggestions, but two very good masculine tops who both have reviews on here are Brad Stephens and Scott Stanton. There was a recent thread in the Deli about "jock" type twink tops that mentions a few escorts and you might wish to do a search for that. The Bar Area Reporter, the local gay newspaper, is not unfortunately on line, but any number of escorts advertise on their back pages.

Good luck!
