Escort demanding picture

I contacted an escort to set up an encounter and he demanded a picture of me. I replied that I had not encountered this before and I would look elsewhere. His polite response was:

 

"i have friends that know what i do and i require it for my security. should anything go wrong, they know where to find pictures and contact info. sorry."

 

Still not sure what I think of this.

I tried this recently with a suspected member of the notorious SF Twink Scam bunch, he e-mailed me back to 'stop wasting his time'.

No loss in my book, proof is in the pudding...

I wonder if that guy is as security-conscious if/when he's picking up anonymous tricks at the sex club/night club/or online? He's much more likely to encounter a psycho in one of those situations. Nearly a dozen years of escorting and I've only felt I might have been in some sort of danger once. The way some people carry on, you'd think there was a Jeffrey Dahmer on every corner. It's one thing to be cautious, but I'm sure he's really limiting his client potential.

I believe it was Tom Bustone (sp?), a San Francisco escort I never met, who once stated that he always offers to clients the first ten minutes of a session as a get acquainted opportunity for one or the other to pass on the balance of the session. I do not believe he undresses (or would request that the client do the same). This is why I believe recent accurate pictures of escorts are essential and, with respect to clients, while some escorts do have limitations (and these issues have been discussed elsewhere) as to whom they want to see as clients (and the bottom line there was better to know the escort would not please a client of color or of a certain weight, etc., than for the client to have a bad experience), I do think that most escorts who treat this career path professionally will handle themselves in a manner that will leave both parties respected and give consideration to the needs of both.

 

Any demand, be it for photographs, for first class airfare or for a four star hotel room, is, IMHO, inappropriate to that type of outlook and worldview.

OK, if I was a pyscho escort-hirer, x( what's to stop me from sending a fake picture and leaving his 'friends' chasing the wrong guy? I mean as a security precaution, it seems pretty lame to me.

 

I have had a couple of escorts ask if I could send them a picture but in both cases, it was after exchanging several e-mails and they were curious. In cases like that, I have no problem obliging, but that explanation sounds a little weird to me...
