I am new to this site and I have a couple of questions.

 

I was wondering about the escorts listed. Do they pay to have their advertising on the site, or is it free to them.

 

I have hired a couple of escorts in the past and they were just awful. How do you guys find good escorts to put in these reviews?

 

I live in Austin, and I am looking at a couple of escorts here on this site that I like the looks of. What do I ask them when I contact them, and is there some sort of routine that one goes thru when I contact them. I really want to find a confident, older escort who is a great top. Do I just ask them? And how do you do the money thing? How do I know what they are going to do when we get together?

Welcome to the group! The escorts reviewed here do NOT pay for their reviews. I've submitted about 5 reviews and none of them were at the request of the escorts. In addition, I've not received any special favors or payback from the escorts or HooBoy for writing a review.

 

Escorts can pay a small fee to have their picture featured with "Meet Local Men" in the Escort Reviews link. Clients can also pay to sponsor their favorite escort in this section.

 

When hiring I ususally prefer to make the initial contact by e-mail. I indicate my preference (such as oral, top, bottom, etc.) and inquire about their availability. On positive responses, I usually follow-up with a phone call to confirm a specific appointment.

 

NEVER pay the escort upon arrival. That is usually done after the session is over. I normally leave the money in plain sight on the night stand and make sure the escort picks it up on their way out. On first appointments, I always try to make the escorts feel comfortable by making the first contact such as rubbing their leg, kissing them, etc. (Maybe I'm wrong but I do that so they won't think I'm a cop or they are being set up.)

Why were they awful? Can you elaborate? If you can, then BABY you have come to the right site! Look for good escorts here, as this is just about the only site where you can converse in the message center about escorts and/or review what people who have hired escorts have to say about their experiences with the escort.

Just send them an email, and state just what you have stated here.

But first look at their reviews here to make sure they are what you are looking for! Be upfront about yourself and what you want and see what the escort says in reply. No one can read your mind, man!, so you have to let the escort know what you are looking for! Almost all good escorts will not ask for money upfront, but please have his fee readily available. Some, but not most, escorts want to see the money available in the open. All will do what you asked for/agreed on in advance. Make sure you ask for/agree on what you want and the fee before you hook up.

Sounds like this may be your first gay encounter. If so, look at the reviews and find an escort who is good with "newbies". Also, let whomever you pick know this about yourself!

Just to confirm, we (escorts) do NOT pay to be listed on this site. Unless running an ad with MLM (MeetLocalMen), we are put on this site strictly due to client reviews, good or bad. I would suggest that you search on agency sites or for independents that you like then use this site to winnow out the bad ones from your chosen list. Most positive reviews here are too idiosyncratic to be very useful, but the negative ones can help you spot patterns and trends. Unless you fall within the demographc of most reviewers then it is unlikely that a positive review will be much of a guide to the experience that you will have with an escort. Hiring escorts is like riding a bike. Some people need the training wheels to learn, others don't mind falling off a few times as they learn.

BTW, while escorts don't ay for their reviews here, another thing you should bear in mind is that the positive reviews here are often unreliable b/c often escorts ask clients to post a review of them. That tends to bias the sample.

This was informative and excellent, as far as explanation goes, but unfortunately One Finger neglected to mention that some of the escorts here pay a substantial amount of money so that wit and charm on the par of "bite me" can follow our every post. As they say, all publicity. . . .

First, I'd like to add my welcome to all the others. I was fifty-eight when I hired an escort for the first time. Once I discovered this site about eighteen months later, I've never looked back. And I've also never hired an escort that I didn't meet through M4M.

 

My approach to using the reviews is a bit different to what's been outlined here. Rather than check out the escort's details first, at least carefully, I scroll down to the reviewer's profile. If I see that he has posted a number of reviews already, or if his handle is familiar from the Message Board, I'm inclined to believe that it's being fair and accurate. While there are specious reviews, the men who participate actively on this board are usually quick to point them out, and, as I've said, they write honest reviews themselves.

 

Another reason I check out the reviewer's profile is to make sure that I'm not reading rave reviews written by men who describe themselves as in their thirties, muscular, good-looking, and so forth. I look for clients who seem to be like me. If they sing an escort's praises, I have found that I never go wrong. Of course, every now and then you'll want to branch out on your own. But to save your emotions -- which to me are far more valuable than the money -- you might want to stay with the tried and true. There are lots of Texas escorts who've won terrific reviews. I hope you find one -- or two, or three! -- soon.

 

By the way, escorts are experts at helping you come out. The escorts I know have a playful, sex-positive approach to the whole thing; they've seen it all; they are not embarrassed by anything that happens; and they have a vested interest in helping their clients have a great time, which is what sex is for -- unless you're in the business of making babies.
