I just saw a promo for an upcoming Ricki Lake show on bi-sexuals and I swear Billy Brandt was on there, with a goatee. I had heard he was bi. Did anyone else see this or have a preview listing?

For what I've heard from someone who was at the taping, the show about bisexuals with Billy Brant is a real loser. Based on his mood that day, he could come off well or very badly. I believe Billy is straight, not bi anyway. Will try to watch Lake on Monday although I do not even know when the show is on in Philadelphia.

What a mess!!! He was introduced as the "biggest star in male porn." His filmed introduction was done pretty well. . . and he looked good. Then he came out, lookin' a mess to my eyes. Nasty goatee and tons of tats on his arms. Yes he has bulked up some. He came across as kind of stupid.

 

Then. . . . (lmao) Michael Lucas came out to "evaluate" him. Neither one admitted to ever hearing of the other. Hello? ? ? ? They were/are both escorts and porn "stars" Then another porn "star" in the audience stood up and read Miss Billy, "you were a pretty big star, but that was several years ago." My did she bristle!! The same guy (I missed his name and didn't recognize him) then told of his career on the silver screen and that he had "sex with men for money" God. . . you could hear the curlers falling in Peoria!!!

 

All in all it was a pretty sad show. Probably pretty good by Ricki Lake standards. I wonder what Jerry could have done with it?

Ricki Lake must be all about ambushing the guests. Billy had about two minutes to talk about being straight while doing male porn. Then Michael Lukas came on to challenge Billy's statement that he was straight. Billy himself then backed down and said he likes sex with

women and men: "But men are all dogs," which in context seemed more like a comment about his clients than his personal life.

 

Billy had been billed as the biggest star and male porn in a decent introductory video segment where he talked about getting $600-$1,000 a hour for escorting "on a very limited basis." A porn star in the audience eventually stood up to say that Billy may have been a big star a few years ago, but guys like Matthew Rush from Falcon had passed him by.

 

Despite all the bulking up at the gym and new tatoos, I still see

Billy as a twink. After the challenging comments, he acted like a kid, not taken part in the show and mostly looking down at the floor.

It's difficult to believe that Falcon would have booked Billy on Ricki Lake, but David Forest.....

Billy has always become petulant when it isn't "all a bout me".

 

Several other guys were booked originally. Caesar was going to go on to declare that "gay4pay" was bullshit. (You GO girl!) But he backed out when he smelled a rat, I suspect.

 

This was definitely a David Forest booking. The Rikki Lake show called several porn companies looking for models for this show and every one of them turned them down.

 

The only thing that surprises me is that the show ran in April, instead of during May sweeps. They must have some hum-dingers planned for then! :+

Chad Hunt was the porn star in the audience. He looks really queeny and is losing his hair, but says he gets big bucks to have sex with men. Billy just came across as an idiot, but also pretty fem. As for Ricki, I liked her better when she was fat.

Since I missed it I checked the Ricki website and it is also scheduled for May 12....at least in the Chicago market. Guess they thought it might be worth sweeps week...if that's the week.

I tried to post my opinion of the show on Billy's website, mostly favorably to Billy. I received an angry response from the moderator (Billy's girl friend) saying my message would not be posted. Now I see that I have been banished from the site. Billy may be the worse judge of people whom I have ever met.

 

During the summer of '00, he was living with the owner of Boys Next Door in Denver, one of the worst escort agencies in the country. I am not a fan of Falcon, but without Falcon Studios, Billy Brandt would be no where. By his behavior that is probably where he deserves to be.

I guess what was most pathetic was his admission that he was into all of this to support his child and wife/girlfriend? An able bodied and based on his overall presentation, not a total idiot, certainly has other options. He exploited what he has, or had. I saw him at the Gaiety several years ago. He was bright, shiny and very attractive. But I do recall NYO's reports of his bodyguards and getting into backstage bru-hahs and then either being dismissed or leaving.

The site I mentioned is part of Yahoo groups. Believe it or not it is free. It has been around for quite a while, so give Billy's girl friend some credit. She gets Billy a lot of free publicity, including Billy items she sells for time to time on ebay (signed photos and underwear). The for pay site is fairly new.

I kinda felt sad for Billy on the show. He seems like a nice enough young kid, but he came out so defensive in the first place that he hurt himself..... not that he didn't have a right to be defensive. I'm guessing that the introduction package was edited in such a way as to make it seem like Billy was saying he was straight (he never really said that, but the caption said that he did). Then he had to try to correct the misunderstanding, which was ultimately technical and uninteresting, that he had never said he was straight in the first place. And everytime he made a statement, Lucas or the audience member responded back to him as if he never said anything. It just looked like a bad dream.

 

He did sound a bit in the package like he was trying to have it both ways ("sometimes I'm thinking of the last girl I was with [while having sex with a man]"), but the piece was odd, like Ricki's editors had left stuff out too.

 

And to immediately come out and talk about being a single dad, and being homeless, and never having imagined he'd be a gay porn star at one point, sounded like a story he had told once too often, so it felt a bit laughable, like every person who's a single parent ends up as a porn star, and so the audience laughed. It wasn't really a story that was asked about, so it just felt defensive from the start.

 

I think he's probably a really sweet kid, who due to his a-hole of a manager (never met nor know the guy, but it's the only way to explain it), was thrown in over his head on a show that obviously is going to look to make some controversy out of his participation. If this were the "legit" world, he would never have been allowed to do this show, particularly without adequate preparation and training, which he clearly didn't have.

 

I wish him the best of luck. He seems like a really nice guy.

I was unable to see the Ricki Lake show, but I got to know Billy a bit through some long phone conversations we had a year or two ago. In unguarded moments, he shared with me many personal facets of his life.

 

I agree with Jeff, the real Billy is a very nice guy.
