You overall impressions of Toronto..

I am in Toronto Canada, I am just polling to get an overall view of American visitors or consumers impressions of the escort and or sex trade market here...what is your over all impressions? I have reviewed a number of escorts, well not that many and living here, I am still quite confused about what happens with them..overall, I think one of the best here is Carlos, a little bit older but a real true man, offers a service and delivers, no bullshit, a lot of the others are just into quick sex for drugs...also it strikes me strange that there is no real agency per se here....and only one male strip club...we need more..had a great time with a nice young man I met there last evening but because of future plans he does not want a review but I have his consent to share other info privately.

Much more variety in Montreal and I found Toronto much more expensive than Montreal. Everything from lap dances to hotels to meals all seem more expensive in Toronto.

cost of living is much higher there. One can get a much better

value dollar to dollar wise in Montreal. If one is looking to save money on hotels, resturants, strip bars etc. Then I say check out

I have stayed at the Hotel Bourbon which is not the fanciest place but the location is great and Hotel de Gouvenor which was fancier but more expensive and a little further down Ste. Catherines from the main action. Do you have a recommendation other than these two? Thanks.

i may have more to say about tor when i have more time, right now i am visiting in nj, just getting back from the gaiety. just wanted to correct this statement, about the value of the dollar. it is the canadian dollar you are exchanging your american money for, the same value in every city in canada. you may be confusing it with them stating the cost of living is less in montreal than in tor, which you basically had also mentioned in your post.

i am an american who spends a LOT of time in toronto, most of it in remingtons. it has its bad points, but there is a nice selection of dancers. a lot of them come from montreal, presumably to make more money, due to the "official" amount of the lap dances. some become disappointed with the amount of money they make, but many keep returning. a lot can depend on how liberal they may be in the back rooms. word can travel fast among customers about the dancers. that is the same reason, although the dances may cost $20, that you may enjoy them more than in montreal. it is more private in tor, based on what i hear about the area in the montreal bars they do the lapdances in, including someone pacing back and forth to make sure you aren't getting out of line. i still intend to make it to montreal, as i know from the one's that travel to remingtons in tor and to the gaiety in nyc that there are some REALLY hot men in quebec.

the reason there is only one male strip bar in toronto is that they are now outlawed. only reason remingtons is there is that they are "grandfathered", meaning they were there before the law was passed. not sure why there is only one agency. could it be that there are so many options to get men. quite a few ads in xtra, and quite a few that dance at remingtons who will escort. i personally like hiring men from rems, as you see what u are getting and get to give them a trial run upstairs.

I don't think much of the escort scene in either Montreal or Toronto. To have a good escort scene, a city MUST have a good on-line rental market with pictures. Neither city does. I don't mean to quibble but I think at best you can say that Montreal or Toronto are good "hustler" cities, but not good "escort" cities.

There is some truth to the fact that the escort scene in Montreal and Toronto is more difficult to access than in comparable large USA cities.For some reason the agencies that do exist do not have websites with pics of the escorts.But in Montreal, for instance, Hotboys is listed in the local gay rag, Fugues, and they have a stable of dependable, young, hung and generally bilingual studs. Their prices are very reasonable and the receptionist will assist you in your choice of guy.Some of the other agencies are more spotty (I've tried them all) but can sometimes be rewarding. However, that being said, a lot of the dancers in the 6 male strip bars (more than any other city on the continent), will escort and there you see what you get at the bar before you take him home. Fugues also has a number of individual escort ads but some of these guys are complete rip-offs while others are great. Trial and error, I'm afraid.

Not just U.S. cities, try Amsterdam, London etc....!

Being born and raised in Toronto, I think it's a fun and cosmopolitan city. I've met men from various US cities that tell me they find it a more permissive and enjoyable place than say Texas or Oklahoma (not to say there's anything wrong with Texas). There aren't that many places that I've been to in Canada - with the possible exception of Montréal - that have as many gay establishments. In fact on my last trip to Montréal a friend and I checked out a couple of the strip clubs there and I found that Toronto's own Remington's far superior.

 

Oh well, just my humble opinion.

Agree that Remington's is superior to many strip clubs around North America. Have visited Swinging Richards in Atlanta, Twist in Miami,

Boardwalk in Ft. Lauderdale. Each as its own srengths but still think Remington's is the best.

I agree, and it may, in the case of Montreal, have something to do with the language divide. The level of internet usage is lower in Quebec than in the rest of Canada because many French Canadians are not comfortable using English, which is the predominant language of the net. In Toronto's case, I can't explain it. Of course the cultural differences between Canada and the US may go somewhat to accounting for the difference, eg. homosexual acts are legal in Canada (since 1968) and are still outlawed in many US states(sodomy laws, etc) but then the same is the case in London and Amsterdam. In any event, it is easy to find escort agencies in Canada (newspapers, magazines, even the Yellow pages) but not on the net.

True enough, but you have no pics to guide your choice. Maybe, I am just spoiled but the idea of going to the bar is too close to dating and the agency ads without pics is too iffy for me. There are a lot of things I like about Canada, but escorting is not one of them. BTW, last Summer I had a hard time finding twinkish bottoms in Toronto, and I don't recall getting many responses to the thread that I started then.
