Last week "Ready-4-boi" started an excellent discussion about problems at the Gaiety. His thread led to some well thought out suggestions/ideas and, hopefully, they can be followed through.

I attended the 6:15pm show on Friday. The line up was super and the patrons showed great approval. Everyone looked like they were having an enjoyable time. Even the chips tasted good!

Before the show started, I had a chance to speak to a few dancers. I brought up the topic of "women in the audience". The dancers I spoke with were all in agreement and recognized this problem. All said, that they were there for the sole entertainment of the MEN! I told them of some of our ideas of not tipping or setting up a private with dancers who showed more attention to the women. I also told them to get the word out to other dancers...Let's see what happens...

As for the early show on Friday, I could only recognize a few women and wasn't sure about a couple. I will state, that if the man in the second row didn't leave that seat next to him vacant, there would have been no women by the stage to draw any dancers attention.

Perhaps those patrons in attendance for the later Fri. shows or Sat. could let us know how it went.

On a funny note, I was speaking with one dancer, whom I thought spoke better English. I told him about our issues and when I asked him for his thoughts, he said, "would you like a private!"...I got to learn French to survive.

Let's keep the dialogue going. I don't know what Monday's line up will be, but any information on the dancers' private shows will certainly help. Setting up a private and asking all the right questions is up to us. No one can do that for you.

OK - When I was in NY in June I did a private with Trevor. Great to look at, nice guy in the theater but a total dud unless you are into pure muscle worship which I am not. Great come-on, no follow through. I'm in the city every two or three months and usually check out the Gaiety. My pet peeves are not the women. They're A) People in the better seats who put their jackets, packages, etc. on the seat next to them and are aggravated that you might want to sit there and B) The weekend regulars who hold a social club chitchat in the middle of shows.

Understandably, this would piss anyone off.

Two solutions come to mind.

(1) Pick up their jackets and packages and plonk them on their lap. Then sit down in the seat and if they say anything to you replay that they can only use the second seat if they paid for two admissions.

(2) Turn around and say loudly "SHUT THE FUCK UP"

Jake, Do I remember Trevor. And I too fell for that look, those eyes, those muscles...Had a private with him and found out the reason why we keep saying, ASK THOSE QUESTIONS FIRST. After I left his room, I felt USED...He dances quite frequently at the Gaiety, and every time I see him I'm reminded of that experience. NEVER AGAIN.

This is a constant complaint that "NYO" brings up in his weekly reviews. I'm surprised that his "buddies" still do it.

Yes, that "boys club". You should have seen them in action this past Friday. One would get up to get the drinks, another would get up to bring the cups to the dump. Then they would come in with the chips,... AND they all must have bladder problems!(up,down,up, down)... YES! their constant talking and turning around. Not only during the breaks, but during the entire show. It does get on your nerves. Fortunately, I'm not one of them! :-)

Jake, next time your plans in NYC include the Gaiety, give a post, perhaps someone can give you information on a "good" private.

Regarding A), I am not sure I'd classify those who exhibit this behavior as my "buddies". I do not think it's wrong to leave one's coat/bag on a seat between shows as many of us don't go to The Gaiety for the movies. I also think it's ok to get up for a BRIEF break to go to the bathroom, to stretch, to get punch, etc. (Speaking of punch, did anyone witness the commotion at the punch bowl when one patron threw the punch at another; darn, I missed it). I do not think it's ok to either leave "your" seat for extended periods during a show (especially when the show is busy) or to take up two seats, one for you and one for your possessions.

If it's between performances (i.e. when nobody is on stage), I think the chit chat is ok, what else should we be doing (staring at the empty stage?). I agree that the chatter while a guy is on stage is both distracting and rude.

Try to enjoy the show! It's a fun way to spend a few hours.

Projected lineup for Labor Day week:

1. Tino Lopez

2. Sebastian

3. Tristan

4. William

5. Marco

6. Antonio

7. Andre

Ahh, the front row guys. A few weeks ago the five best front row seats were virtually empty during the show because these fellows had other things to do. There are also the screamers who go wild when the dancer shows his hole, so that just encourages all the dancers to show hole, even when they have a lot of other stuff to show.

And what about the dancers who come out with a great boner and then turn their back to the audience?? Or stay at the back of the stage?

But, overaall, we do have a lot of fun there, don't we?

Thanks "NYO" for providing us with the (projected) upcoming week's line-up. It looks grrrrrrreat! Can't wait to see William do his act, he's one of the best entertainers the Gaiety has to offer.

OK, Gaiety goers, if you would like to share some information on the "private shows" these dancers offer, please do.

Your information can help others in making that "informed" decision.

I agree with all the complaints concerning chit chats, seats that remain empty because the occupant is out doing something somewhere and his friends are holding the seat....sometimes up to 30 - 45 minutes.

We can complain all we want about this but it appears that nobody ever does anything about it. Surely someone who has clout there (? who that could be) could make management aware of these problems and suggest solutions for them. Denise should be made aware of this site and that MANY MANY Gaiety patrons read it. She should also be made aware that complaints that go unanswered will only have adverse affect on her business. The bottom line for her appears to be $$$. Therefore she should be warned that ignoring complaints will cost her.

I guess, since I frequently don't post reviews, it's only right that I balance my slam on Trevor with a couple of standouts of the many Gaiety "encounters" I've had. Christopher from Montreal is sensational and I had the good fortune to be his very first private when he had just started dancing at L'Adonis (which he didn't do for very long - went right to the big leagues). Down to earth Very nice guy, successful in school and new career, great cock and very interactive. Also, Ronnie from Huston. What a great body and cock! Also a very nice guy. And did I mention Vinnie? I'm still trying to catch up with him in New York, but he was my all time favorite playmate at Stock in Montreal and would allow me to go surprisingly far with him in the back room(s) - but not as far as one of the afternoon boys at Campus who I literally fucked in the back room on a slow day. As you might guess, I like em well built (not into muscle worship, though), smooth and hung for oral action and a great fuck - as fuckor - if they're willing.

I was actually thinking Vinnie might be the guy Cooper mentioned not speaking English as well as he thought he would. I've only heard him say "whats your name" in English and it makes sense that he would also know how to solicit a private. Everything else has been french with other dancers.

Shame about Trevor, he used to be tempting, now I won't even let my mind wander that way. :(

Hey Boink...Good point, but remember a lot of these dancers are not escorts in the true sense. Many don't live in the USA and they don't want to be recognized at the "Boarder". This has happened already to several Canadian dancers who now can't return to the Gaiety. The idea of a website is great, but could it have serious consequences for those who dance there?

A website would be cool. I would volunteer to be the webmaster to make sure the site rocked (an offer I've made some escorts I've met).

I believe Denise is particularly sensitive about the dancers there being connected to the illegal activity of escorting. I say that because i know of at least one dancer who got busted and Denise no longer puts him on the regular lineup (he only does a show here and there usually as a fillin)

Was already done two years ago. A couple had talked to her about designing a site for years and finally got her to agree on one. Then for some reason that still remains an unsolved mystery she later claimed to have never known anything about it. She threatened to sue the couple for using the name of the theatre acting like it was her trademark. The site was immediately pulled after it was registered and up and running for only a few weeks. However I do happen to know that the domain name is currently for sale. Hint hint to Hooboy.

As for the original issue I had posted about, I would be interested in hearing continued feedback about the problem. Sure there will always be complaints about the way the theatre is managed, but the problem with these women showing up in numbers makes me not want to go there at all. I was not there this past weekend and plan to stay away until something is done. There are many venues where men strip and gay men are not welcome so I don't think it is sexist or a form of discrimination to turn women away. Don't be scared to say something. The management have to listen and make improvements, but I think it will be a long time unless many of you going speak directly to the owner. Personally I think she is a little touched, but once she hears how many customers are not satisfied with what they're getting and are looking elsewhere she will either sell the place and move on or make the necessary change. I have a very pessimistic view that she will not listen cause she doesn't care. She has made so much money over the many years she will most likely just walk away from it. The way it's been going and how the place has gone so hetero that won't be much of a loss.

Speaking of Denise...DOES SHE HAVE A LIFE?....What's her story. I get to the Gaiety maybe 3 or 4 times per year but it seems that anytime I get there (afternoons, nights, weekends, whatever) she is always behind the glass booth TALKING ON THE TELEPHONE. Am I the only one who notices this? Does this woman do anything else other than sit there and talk on the tel? Who the hell does she talk to?

Is (was) she married...is she a lesbian....where does she live? Inquiring minds want to know.

Could someone tell me what "private session" with the Gaiety dancer mean? Is it similar to a private session with a Toronto or Montreal guy? Are there rooms/cubicles in the Gaiety? Do they have their own rooms outside the theater? Should I have them come with me to my own home in NYC, or in a hotel? Seems like it is more predictable and safer to just stick to my favorite Campus boys.

lol...Kenny, take it easy, it almost sounds like you want to date this lady!...Her life seems to be the Gaiety...She's been successful and see's no reason to change. What's that expression, "if it ain't broken don't fix it."

The deal basically is this: The boys at the Gaiety want $200 a pop from you or anyone else that will pay. They usually have a room at one of the more modestly priced hotels within 2 or 3 blocks of the Gaiety, to which they will take you. You might be with them for an hour, but more likely is 20-45 minutes, depending on what happens between you. The majority are gay-for-pay and will strip, let you touch them, suck them, and will help you j/o, as quickly as possible. The chances are about even that you will be "accidentally" interrupted by their roommate, who is also working at the Gaiety, or by a phone call which just has to be answered. This is ok if what you want is a brief period alone with a beautiful, muscular guy. But if you want more, find a guy who is well reviewed here and arrange for something a little more leisurely and civilized.

There are no facilities at the Gaiety (at least not for some years). You meet and make arrangements with the dancers in the lounge after their show - and you're smart to cover all the expectations at that time although some will not discuss it there - and you can go to their nearby hotel room or set a date for your home. Your assurance of satisfaction is probably higher sticking with your proven agency, but then, again, you do miss out on the fun of discovering some new jewels in the mix who don't ordinarily escort - especially if you like straighter, or straighter acting types. Normal fee $200, so every fourth one could be a dud and you'd be about even with your agency fee. Like that logic?

Hey Lucky,

I guess we both know there is nothing Denise can do about admitting women patrons to the Gaiety. I do, however, believe that the men patrons can do something. Hopefully, the suggestions already submitted can be followed.

When I spoke to a few dancers regarding the attention some were giving to the women, a couple said that they were already aware of this problem. If we keep up the dialogue with the dancers and the women see they aren't getting any attention, who knows what might happen.

Careful Kenny - The mere mention of the word "Lesbian" when assoicated with Denise will bring out the self-appointed M4M police, AKA "The Hounds From Hell" who will accuse you of the most vile motives imaginable. Just tell them to go fuck themselves!
