(He is reviewed as Paul under the email address discretensafebos.) I returned his email indicating that he seemed to be what I was looking for but asked why the different screen names and profiles. He read the email on 8/14 without any response as yet.

He may have decided just not to bother with it. I've had escorts tell me that they get so much email that they simply ignore anything that seems complicated or out of the ordinary.

I can't address any of this -- including the message from the Yahoo group, which I looked up. However, he has been around Boston for ages. I can remember emailing him at least two or three years ago.

 

I never hired him because I decided he wasn't my type. But he has been around for a long time.

I don't know if this is a common practice among some escorts, but on the NY page of "Rentboy", there is one "French-Canadian" escort who goes by 3 names. He's know as "Benoit", "Kevin", and "Tristan". He also has different rates and cell #'s. I don't think he's trying to fool anyone, for when I saw him dancing as "Kevin" at the Gaiety, he seemed very nice and told me his other name was "Benoit". "Tristan" is a new one to me...Perhaps someone knows why he does it.

All these different screen names are a red flag to me. There are at least four escorts (3 highly regarded here) who use no less than 3 'escort" names on AOL. Each has a "escort type" profile and each pretends not to know the other screen name they are "not" using, all seems well then when you notice the pics of screen name x are the same as screen name x3 and that name is actually x4 on this site well all you can do is

The purpose of the post was not to indict but to inform those trollling AOL waters in Boston.

 

Multiple online IDs may be a red flag or maybe a business strategy. I wasn't especially put off by it or him until he removed one of the profiles and failed to respond.

 

As BG pointed out, this may mean little more than he didn't feel like bothering with an explantion. However, he did lose an opportunity with me.

I received a rather lengthy email from Paul about this thread. He is none to happy with me which I can understand. I do appreciate the trouble and effort he went to in the response. Only wish the had taken a fraction of the effort to respond to my initial query. Nevertheless he provided me with an adequate explanation about the multiple identities which was seconded by a client who PMed me about the subject. It seems that AOL has showered its attention on Paul in the past by cancelling accounts.

 

 

At this time I would have no qualms about hiring Paul, he is a hot guy (I think), and I suspect a nice guy as well, but I don't think I'm on his list of desirable clients at this point.

First, I don't accept your characterization of my post or motives.

 

Second, how would you suggest that I check the facts? I went directly to the source and asked a simple question in a respectful tone. I was ignored -- not a reassuring sign. As I said to Paul, unsavory escorts trying to lose their reputation by changing identities often respond to such questions by flames or ignoring the question. (I would think that you would know and appreciate this with all the past comments in the MC about several questionable escorts. ) That just raised the red flag higher.

 

When my first attempt at 'checking the facts' failed I went to the next best place I thought, the MC -- that is what this board is about isn't it?? I posted a notice which cited the facts. I didn't make accusations or judgements. The post elicited two respsones supportive of Paul by recognized contributors (you were one who chose to PM your response). That was good enough for me and I posted so.

 

Paul had this situation in his hands to control - he dropped it by not responding to my legitimate question. The lesson for him is that he needs to be a little more professional in his customer relations -- that and straightforward too. The lesson for you is that you should be a little more objective in the support of your friends.

Guess what? Escorting is a business -- the ultimate service industry -- and if these guys do not respond to emails or calls, they DESERVE to have that noted here. I have no sympathy with these guys who think somehow they don't need to respond to inquiries. Come on, we've all read enough of the excuses on this board over the years (too many phony requests, AOL cancelling accounts, too busy with regulars, etc etc etc). As the economy gets tougher, more guys are going into the business, so these flakes who think they're all worth $300 or $400 an hour better start providing better communication. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
