Where/How to find escorts on AOL???

Got a question...

 

I've seen several folks say they met escorts on AOL. Where exactly? I'm not a 'Net newbie - I know I could get AOL chat/instant messenger, all that kind of stuff up and running. I just need to know where are people meeting them - what are the names of the chat rooms, that kind of thing?

 

I know I fired up MSN Messenger once and there was NOTHING on there that even resembled an escort chat room. Sounds like there's one on AOL and I'm curious where it is.

There are two ways to find escorts on AOL.

 

The chat rooms are probably the most infamous. From the “People” menu on the task bar, click on “Find a Chat.” When the next window appears, click on “Town Hall” and the “Chats created by members” tab. Scroll through the list of chats-in-progress, looking for one with “M4Mcompanions” in the title or one with M4M(Your city). In most the cases, the chatrooms will be full, meaning that 23 people have already entered into the chat. That doesn’t really matter, though. Click on the “who’s chatting” button to get a list of the people in the chat. Then double-click on any screen name that suggests that the person is an escort. In addition to the various corrupted spellings of “escort” look for screen names that include “4hire,” “4rent,” etc. You will then see the user’s profile. In many cases, it will include a link to a G-rated photo. If you like what you read/see, fire off an IM or email.

 

It actually makes little sense to enter into one of the chats. Many escorts stay logged into a chat for hours – even when they’re away from their computers. And, since chatrooms are subject to moderation by the AOL police, it’s dangerous to say anything explicit in a “public” chat.

 

The second way to find escorts on AOL is to search through the user profiles. The word “escort” has recently been declared a violation of the AOL terms-of service, so try something else. “Companion” seems to be the currently accepted euphemism.

 

All of this requires an AOL membership and a copy of their software. If you already have an ISP, you can join AOL on a “BYI” (bring your own Internet) basis which, last time I looked, reduces the monthly fee to $9.95. This gives you access to AOL proprietary content (such as the chat rooms) but you will have to use your current ISP to access the Internet.

If you have AOL as your ISP you can go to PEOPLE then FIND A CHAT then click on the tab titled CREATED BY AOL MEMBERS and then on the left hand side a slew of M4M rooms will appear by locations. You won't find any rooms listed as "escorts" persay because AOL is totally against escorts (note other thread). However go to the location your looking for such as LASVEGASM4M and then pull the profiles and you will usually find any escorts that are currently in the rooms. I use the local M4M room to "attempt" to find a decent guy locally (non escort). I personally never hired an escort this way but would be cautious in doing so. I've seen some of the escorts on this site that I know use AOL surfing the rooms for buisness. Good luck and I hope that helps! ;-)

I decided to see what I was missing so I signed up for a trial period today. This seems like a lot of work trying to decipher who is for rent, and who is not, and where they are hiding. I really can't see what's in it for clients or escorts. What am I missing?

They aren't hiding. It's usually obvious in their Screen Names.

If not, it's in their profiles. Look for things like: scort, $$, boi4you, etc. Really, you can't miss them.

I searched the member directory and did see some, but it seems like a lot of work to me. Most don't have pictures. Most seem a bit old to me, with advertised ages seeming to be late 20s and up. It is still necessary to scroll through a lot of names to come up with hits for NYC. I am really interested in knowing if clients and escorts find this productive. It seems like a lot of work for uncertain results.

I've never actually hired someone off of AOL but I certainly have been tempted.

 

I think the best way to "work" AOL is through the chatrooms. At any given time, there are bound to be several "NewYorkM4M" chats in progress. Usually there are a couple of "NewYorkM4Mcompanions" chats as well.

 

Although it's been said here many times before, the way to find these chats is:

 

1) From the "People" icon on the tool bar, click on "Find a chat."

2) When the list of chats appears, click on "Town Hall" and the "created by members" tab.

3) Click on the "More" button 4 or 5 times, until it grays. This assures that a complete list of current chats has been loaded into your session.

4) Start a search of chat names by hitting Control-F. This opens the "find" window. Enter "NYC," "NewYork", or "companion" into the search field.

5) In the "list of chats" window, scroll back up to the top and select the first chat in the list. This makes the chat-list the "active" window and the object of your "find" search.

6) In the "Find" window, click find.

 

Once you've found a chat that looks promising, select it and hit the "who's chatting" button. You'll get a list of everyone in the chat room. Double click any screen-name that looks interesting to bring up it's profile. You will certainly be able to tell who's an escort and who isn't.

 

Finally, most escort profiles will have a link to a G-rated photo. If you want to pursue things further, fire off an IM or email. (Don't bother trying to enter the chatroom).

 

I know this sounds complicated -- but after you've done it a couple of times, it will seem very straight-forward.

 

Bear in mind that many escorts stay logged into the chatrooms for hours -- even when they're away from their computers. That's why email is often the best way to initiate contact.

Thanks. Actually, I followed your instructions in addition to searching the member directory. Maybe, I have an attention span problem, but it seemed like a lot of work without much to show for it. After my lasp post, I figiured out how to scroll to the end of the chat rooms, ib the Town Hall lobby, and I did see some obvious escorts chatting, but it tok a lot of effort to identify NYC chats, and then NYC escorts who were chatting. I am not trying to disputacious, but I really would like to know what thrill or commercial efficiency people see in this?
