I was in this gay chat room the other evening and ran across a guy who called himself "escort4love". He had an appealing profile, so I engaged him in private chat. After some small talk we got to discussing his physical stats, rates and availability. He also e-mailed a picture showing his nude body from collar bone to knee. This all confirmed my interest and I told him so. We agreed on a date and time. He asked for my name, phone number and address which I gave him. When I asked for his name and a phone number, he would only give me a first name, but no phone number. I had his hotmail e-mail address from the picture, but that's all the information he would provide. I was feeling somewhat steamed up by his stats and the picture, so I agreed to the appointment anyway. He told me to confirm via e-mail two days before the appointment and I said I would.

 

Now here's my question. Is it safe to meet an escort in a chat room and then have him come to your house without having at least a phone number? With escorts hired through a classified add, you at least have a phone number that traces back to the escort if something goes wrong. But with this guy, who knows? I have not confirmed the appointment, and am wondering if I should. Could this be a dangerous situation? I'm from a midwest city that has a sorry shortage of good escorts, so this guy could be promising.

Well, there is always a risk when someone you don't know enters your home...if it is that big a deal to you...simply insist on a phone number for him, and if he still refuses...cancel the date...or meet him in a more public place first to size him up - but even that is no guarantee that something could or would not go wrong back at your house...

And as long as you're meeting at a "public place", why not room 69 at the local Motel 6?

 

Of course, by now the escort already has phone # & address, but meeting elsewhere still might not be a bad idea for a first meeting.

There is also the possibility that he won't show up. He may not even be what he proclaims to be. Maybe it's a sadistic little game. I have encountered this before, sadly, both with alleged escorts and with guys who were supposedly looking for sex and/or dating. How else to explain an escort that doesn't show up at the appointed time and then his email no longer works. Or the escort that gets to the point of setting a specific date and time and then logs off? Or the guy who sees your picture and says he wants to meet you but then inexplicably disappears, also deleting his email address.

 

There is one guy I see a few times a year for whom I only have an email address. I wouldn't even think about hiring a guy now unless he provided a phone number to me after we chatted for a while or traded a few emails.
