Did a weekend, first time ever – a visit with family in tow some 10-15 years ago not counting :-) -- some 50+ hours of wall-to-wall fun. ;-) I managed a tour of four strip bars on Fri. night (goal was all five in the Village), a return to two on Sat. afternoon (Sat. night was booked), and a return again to the same two on Sunday afternoon. I tore myself away 7:30 pm Sunday only because work awaited Monday morning.

 

Stayed at the Gouverneur… nice hotel, nice spacious room with a view, 26th floor, nice bathroom, good king bed, and great pillows (my gold standard for a hotel). Only the upholstered sitting chairs left something to be desired – a little warn and stained (but clean, I think); probably seen one lap dance too many. :-)

 

My goal of all five strip bars in the Village would have been realized had I stuck to my plan of 45 minutes to an hour at each place – oh well, the best laid plans... My schedule never recovered and Taboo remains to be explored.

 

I started at Stock and couldn’t tear myself away for over two hours. Next stop: Campus after midnight, then Nirvana arriving near 1:00 am. The online info I looked up indicated that the bars closed at 2am. I was pleased to find that they stayed open until 3am. So about 2:30 am I meandered the few blocks to L’Adonis which I closed down. :-)

 

I hadn’t had supper yet, so after leaving L’Adonis on the way back to the hotel, I stopped at Le Club Sandwich, their specialty is their namesake. I opted for #86 – The Studebaker – a very large cheeseburger with bacon, pickle, let and tom, hots, and enough french fries to serve three easily accompanied by cole slaw. A diner with diner type fair -- good food and reasonably priced given the exchange rate and quality.

 

Both L’Adonis and Campus open at 3 pm daily (the only strip bars open in the day).The next afternoon I returned to Campus at 3 pm and nothing had started. After a few minutes I decided to head over to L’Adonis where they hold Saturday afternoon auditions for the aspiring. After a couple of hours I headed back to Campus for 30 minutes or so before I returned to the hotel for a nice dinner and evening with a ‘friend’.

 

The next afternoon I checked out of my hotel and headed back to Campus and L’Adonis after an early afternoon meeting with a new acquaintance. Resigned to Monday being a work day for me, I left Adonis in the early evening and made one more pass at #86 – The Studebaker, at Le Club Sandwich. Less than four hours later I was solidly ensconced in the real world once again, checked my email, and went to bed.

 

Now the rundown:

 

Stock on Rue St. Andre

 

Friday night at 9:30 or so I started at Stock and couldn’t tear myself away for almost two and a half hours. The busiest place that evening – big crowd, lots and lots of dancers -- very impressive guys with major endowments – we are talking the Harvard U. class of endowments. (I was surprised at the number of trophies on display along the St. Catherine St. establishments -- "Where do they get those wonderful toys?" immediately comes to mind as does the question Why wasn’t I born In Quebec?? :-(. ) Nice muscular bodies without being overdone, for the most part. Each dancer performs two dances: first one fast with a strip to briefs and lots of teasing and peeks, second, slow, nude and erect. One HOT couple put an a very erotic slow dance. $10 dances going on left and right. Being a newbie I just watched until one dancer sat to chat me up and suggested a $10 dance. So I broke the ice… he danced by the rules (no touching genitals and anus but everything else OK) but he put everything in my face as long as I was willing to sit for it. I asked him how many dances. By my count he sorted of rounded up a few songs… part of my research was to ascertain how the guys treated customers. He did offer me a private off premises the next day. I had no intention based on his ability to count songs.

 

(He was the only dancer of several at the four clubs that evening to err in the song count in his favor. Most were right on or one under and a few – those with which I seemed to have a little better than average rapport – undercounted a couple it seemed to me.)

 

After almost 2.5 hours I reluctantly had to tear my self away for the next stop at Campus.

 

Campus

 

Hit Campus just before midnight. Bigger guys though most not as beefy as I expected, which was good but some were still a little too big for my taste. Not everyone erect for the second – maybe not most -- of the limited number I saw. The place was slow compared to Stock. A bigger guy asked about a $10 dance, I accepted. He offered a private off premises too. I moved on after about 30 minutes.

 

Campus in the afternoon is different – dancers more my type: not twinks but not sooo big either – just right and wow. Saturday afternoon I saw Estephan, who I met the previous night at Nirvana -- his night gig. He remembered me even though I did not engage him for a $10 or table dance at Nirvana. Very friendly, natural body and amazing endowment (a true 8++ and thick) which points up at the ceiling – we are talking blunt Rhino horn here – one of the few cut guys. He became one of my favorites and treated me likewise, it seemed anyway. :-) I returned to see him the next day – I wonder why? :-o . Campus in the day is a lot of fun and full of gorgeous eye candy. On Sunday, I walked in, sat down, ordered a beer when this stunning 6’+ dark blond, with model looks and the smoothest of complexions comes over and says he wants to give me a free table dance (Johann or Yuan or something like that. My ear is not yet tuned to the Quebecois speech cadence and then there is the loud music with which to contend). (At various occasions while the stage dancer performs, 3-4 guys do free nude table dances at the audience tables). This guy is all over me and in my face with his erection, he seems really into it and making out like he is really into me and the rest of the world doesn’t exist – yes, I know it is a show but he manages to convey that sense nevertheless. He has some definite acting ability. After that I suggested a $10, so we adjourned to the VIP lounge. He was all over me like white on rice: gentle caresses and grazing kisses and roaming hands and at the same time in my face doing 360s. (I saw nothing like this at Red – it just wouldn’t be allowed!!) After two dances he was called to do a stage dance – just as well… my boiler gauge was in the red zone. Leaving the VIP area, who do I run into but Estefan… back to the VIP. We had become good friends the day before and renewed our very good friendship once again.

 

Next stop on Friday night was Nirvana.

 

Nirvana was the third stop on Friday night, probably closing in on 1am. The is the new place, nice, clean and spacious, though not many patrons – maybe 8-10. The stage is in the center of the room -- in the round. It is large and gave me the impression of a boxing ring platform without the ropes, except that the platform was of decent quality wood flooring with several imbedded colored lights illuminating the dancer. Five to six dancers. Most younger smaller guys but nice bodies. One dancer, Roman, was a particularly stunning performer – a real dancer. Romanian by birth, partial Russian parentage, he took dance in public school and it showed big time with the grace and technique of pointed toes and deliberate hand placement and oh so fluid motion interpreting the music. He was also quite acrobatic in his movements: hand stands (nude), cart wheels etc. all to the music. He looks like the typical Bel Ami boy, a bit older at 27. (I saw him the next day at Adonis at the auditions held every Saturday afternoon – more later.) First met him when he sat down to talk to me shortly after I arrived. We ended up in the VIP lounge.

 

A second dancer, Calvin, beautiful 19 year old solid natural body, sat down to talk. Not only gorgeous but a really nice personality and great attitude. Good dancer too. I’ll miss him because he leaves in two weeks for a regular employment opportunity. Did $10 dances with both – for research purposes only. :+

 

I made eye contact only with a third dancer whose name I would find out the next day at Campus – Estefan. ;-)

 

Also met Bob a regular customer… very friendly and informative guy. Used to be a regular at Taboo but became fed up with management shenanigans at the expense of the dancers. He taught me how to tip: roll up a five, place it between your lips like a cigarette (yes I know – where has that bill been?) and lie backward on the edge of the stage. The dancer comes over, dances above your face, squats and writhes to the music, turns and kneels down to take the bill with his lips, giving you a light kiss. (I observed few tips being given to dancers on stage probably in favor of the VIP dances – either that or fear of cardiac arrest in public.)

 

The online info I looked up indicated that the bars closed at 2am. I was pleased to find that they stayed open to 3am. So about 2:30 I left Nirvana and meandered the few blocks to L’Adonis – determined to put in an appearance at least.

 

 

By the time I arrived at L’Adonis Friday night there were only a few patrons left at that hour. I ordered the perfunctory beer (No Heinekin here so I opted for Molson Dry ) and watched a nice looking guy nude on stage, Dano, a neat furry twink (au naturiel everywhere) and good dancer. After his song ended he came over and talked a few minutes then suggested a $10 dance. Time was short but why not. Another up close and personal experience this time with one difference. Instead of doing 360s less than an inch from my face, he was doing them over my head, lifting each leg up and over as he twirled slowly around. More of a worm’s eye view than a bird’s eye view. A nice wrap up to the evening. We closed the place out.

 

I returned to the Adonis the next (Sat.) afternoon. Both it and Campus open at 3 daily (the only ones open in the day). But the dancing doesn’t start until 3:30 or 3:45. During the slow start up I observed a dancer moving around talking to a few regulars it seemed. I believe that one of those regulars was, it seems, the owner setting up shop to grade the auditions. I would come learn the dancer’s name is Vladimir and he seems one of the senior dancers although he has been dancing only three months. More on Vladimir below.

 

On Saturdays afternoons Adonis holds open auditions for new talent. An hour after opening, the place was packed to capacity and several boys showed up to take their big moment. I was amazed how calm and collected these guys were for their first time – they let it all hang out without the least bit of reticence. Most were quite young and twinks. An older one, Roman, I had met the night before at Nirvana – seemed he was looking to establish a daytime gig to supplement his night time job. He left his music at home so he relied on the DJ to pick something which turned out to be great music for Roman. He put on another high quality dance routine complete with hand stands again.

 

While I was sitting at the bar one of the hopeful young guys sat next to me and started up a conversation. He was a handsome 20 year old twink named Zack born in Boston but has lived four years in Montreal (Marc Anthony where are you??). Zack was very friendly, we talked about Boston, its gay scene, why he was dancing, etc. He eventually asked if I’d like a $10 dance. Now he had not auditioned yet and admitted to a few butterflies about the slow dance he would do. SO I was surprised that he is soliciting me for a private dance. We go to the VIP area and pick out the most isolated booth. He strips and is in my face in a nonosecond with a raging hard-on pointing to the zenith and very nicely endowed. Oh to be young again! :-). From what I saw, he’ll have no problem with his new career.

 

Now on to Vladimir -- the one I first saw him when I entered the club. I noticed he had a fantastic bubble butt, and a solid toned muscular natural body, and that he was a little older than some others (he turns 27 next week but looks about 25). He also appeared to have some Latin blood mixed with other European heritage. I watched his first dance and was very impressed with his dancing ability. He and Roman are the best dancers I saw and probably have ever seen in this type of venue. For my personal taste Vladimir wins based on style and personality but Roman is a very strong second. This is purely subjective reflecting my personal taste.

 

I do not pretend to be a dance critic but I know what works for me. I look for three components in an EXOTIC dancer. First and minimally for any dancer, a good healthy body and clean attractive physical appearance with hopefully the ability to at least clog to the beat – a sense of rhythm is a definite plus and necessary for a good dancer. Second, personality and attitude characterized by good eye contact engaging the audience, and a clear indication that they are having a good time enjoying the dancing -- it makes for a very good dancer IMHO. Third, only encountered on rare occasions IMHO, the ability to internalize and interpret the music, making the body a physical extension of the music through fluid movement. This makes for the exceptional dancer.

 

Both Vladimir and Roman show strong across the board IMHO.

 

Back to Vladimir. He was so awesomely fluid and expressive with intricate hand and arm motions (reminiscent of far eastern dance but more energetic) in addition to his feet seemingly floating on air. (I came to understand this aspect of his dance when he sent me his bio which revealed five years of martial arts training.) When he kneels and leans back on his knees until his head touches the stage, especially during his slow dance, well breathtaking is an understatement.

 

I knew Vladimir was generously endowed from his appearance in briefs at the end of the first dance and his fantastic bubble butt was prominently displayed under the briefs. Did I mention that his bubble butt is one in a million!! You have to see it to believe it.

 

I thought I had seen a very impressive show during Vladimir’s first number. However, during the slow dance when he slid his briefs down I gasped under my breath -- the blood rushing from MY head, which was strange since he was the one with the massive erection – 9++ inches and thick, and I mean the ++ , I didn’t have a ruler with me. :-( He seems to be the king of the mountain at Adonis when it comes to size. And he works it into his sensual dance routine so well. Enough, I’m growing faint…

 

I got to know Vladimir (and a few others) over two days and I really got to like and respect him on a personal basis. (He sent me a pic and I’ll post it for anyone interested in looking him up at the L’Adonis.) He has a great personality and attitude, genuinely friendly, great smile, sexy eyes, and he enjoys doing sensual $10 dances. I give him the best dancer and best personality award based on my 50 hours of survey. This is only reflective of my tastes – your mileage may vary. I know I probably missed a lot of guys so I plan further research missions in the near future. :-) But I will always stop at L’Adonis to see Vladimir dance. :-)

 

Well, that is all I could fit into 50 hours… that and three appointments – it wasn’t for lack of trying. If anyone asked my recommendation about Montreal I’d say it is probably worth it.

having never been to Montreal (Or Toronto for that matter) I do have one question. When one wants a private show from the dancer at the club (or a $10 lap dance as it is put in here) where at in the club do they take place?

 

I am under the impression that they are in a different room than the one where the dance floor and bar is at but how private is private. Are both you and the dancer in a small room where no one else can see you or is it a 3 side room with an open doorway where others can observe what is going on.

 

I also heard at the Nob Hill Theatre that they now have rooms for privates as well. What are they like?

I was at Montreal last october. I enjoyed more Campus than Stock because there was the Black&Blue party, so there was a lot of people and activities. At the same time Stock Bar was almost empty.

Both had very handsome, friendly and muscular guys going into lap dances.

At both bars the lap dances are done in a "private room" that are not at all private. At Stock the lap dance place is a kind of gallery separated from the main hall, where there are several opened "cabins" that you have to cross until you one free for your purposes. In fact you can see every customer and his dancer at every cabin. Initially I was shocked because it was my first lap dance, but after a couple of minutes you realize that nobody is interested in others.

At Campus there is a room integrated but separated from the main hall. In fact it is less private that Stocks cabins. If you are at the bar you can see all the dancers and their customers, but the guys "remove" you every rest of shyness.

Sounds like you need to just deal with escorts then as they tend to do most or all of the things that you like.

 

I think most people forget that there is a difference between a dancer and an escort. Obviously the only way a str8 (?) guy who dances at the Gaiety can make any money is through privates since the tips are minimal and the manager pays a small salary.

 

Like most I have been pretty frustrated by the lack of action you get from a dancer at the Gaiety but once I realized that there was a HUGE difference between dancer/escort I cut back on hiring Gaiety guys.

 

I think Montreal and Toronto are the best places to find good privates (i.e. dancers who do more than just lie there). I have had some great full service privates especially in Montreal. The Gouvernuer is located on St Catherine St which is where most of the stripper bars are located. The rates are good and the locale is perfect.

Really can't help you here... yet, anyway -- but I'm planning to find out eventually. When in Rome I utilize Roman escorts or take advantage of the travellng variety just to avoid 'complications' with dancers not going all the way around the track. However, after what I have observed on the spot, I am hopeful that careful selection will reap rewards more often the experiences at the Gaiety that I read about. But it still takes research and care in selecting because most of the dancers in Montreal are straight too -- but not all. :-) Even though they are straight, those I have met and that is quite a few (oh?) are characterzied a VERY gay friendly. Read this a interactive and enthused about keeping you occupied with them as the songs ring up (without getting fired of course). THat is not to say that they will necessarily jump in bed and be all things to all people.

When you first started posting, I thought, from your name, that you were a Northerner living in Tampa. Now I know that you are a Southerner living across the river in Cambridge.

 

I would go to NYC and meet these fabulous French Canadian boys at the Gaiety. Finally I figured "Why not go to the source?" I drove up to Montreal for a long weekend in May a few years ago. I went back nine more times that year. I still go 8-10 times a year. It is an easy drive from Boston, and occaisionally you can get some decent websver air fares. Its great to get there in an hour and a quarter. There is so much to enjoy in Montreal. The men are gorgeous, the food is great, service is outsranding, people are freindly, and the exchange rate is so favorable. There is lots of culture and sites to see, and the Naked Dancers are the best. What more could you want?

 

I'm so glad that you have found one of my favorite weekend getaways, and I'm sure we will run into you at one of the great Canadian establishments some weekend. C'est formidable!

 

(Sometimes I wonder if it would be the end of civilization as we know it if the uptight burghers of Boston would allow a club like Campus or Stock to open here, but.....nanh.)

Well its happened again, first Shamus Nyc, now Ken Mr. StockBar in Montreal after waiting for some warmer weather I finally had the weekend in Montreal, only to discover from one of the other dancers that Ken...Mr. Stock, now has a Sugar Daddy and was somewhere on vacation. Lucky Daddy. Unlike Tampa Yankee I never saw Vladimir at Campus maybe he was away with TY. Most of the Stock guys were either chemically attached or STR8 and I was only offered privates by 2 rather agressive Gay for Pay Steroid Guys. Where did I go wrong?, I am not into Twinks so most of the other Stripper Bars in Montreal were not for me. Oh well back to S'Crews

Urrr...ummmm.... maybe... it would depend on the day and the time of day. I did have him occupied for a while on both days, particularly on Sunday. ;-)

 

To maximize your probability of intercept his hours are:

 

Thursday, Friday and Sunday: 3pm to 9pm (try to arrive before 8pm to have more chances to corner him for a dance..).

 

Saturday, audition day, he dances one set between 3pm and 4pm and is available for conversation and $10 dances until 6pm unless things are slow then he'll leave 5ish or so; and if it is busy then he will stay longer depending on interest.

 

And he says "And very important, the customers should not be shy to come to me and talk. It happened just last Saturday that I decide to go home early (because things seemed slow for him) and clients stop me when I had my clothes on telling me that they wanted to me dance." No reason to be shy, he is very approachable and easy to talk to.

As a frequent Montreal visitor, I can share some experience with both the dancers in question. Yes, they each do privates - $200 Canadian (prox $130 U.S.) and both are completely interactive and versatile, not to mention HUNG. Brad was very enjoyable, but I had very mixed feelings about him pulling his very tight ass right onto my bare, also substantial dick. Vladimir was potentially enjoyable but too loaded and, as a result, turned me off. From observation in the clubs over a period of time, he may have a problem in this regard. Too bad.

Surprising comment.... I have not observed this circumstance in four visits to see him at the Adonis. In fact, he told me he did not drink and in those four instances I saw him he was stone cold sober and drinking only Coke. Two of his attributes that attract my attention is his clean cut appearance and behavior in addition to the fact that he is foucsed on outside goals he's pursuing with regard to his future. Maybe he has turned himself around from an earlier problem?

I would totally agree with your comments about Vladimir and sobriety. I have been at L'Adonis perhaps four times when he was dancing and have never seen him drink alcohol--at least as far as I could tell. He does not smoke, and while I am no expert at determining "pot" use or other let us say euphemistically "substances" usage, I saw NO evidence that he was "high" on anything but dancing.

Others at L'Adonis are not as "clean" I have had dancers excuse themselves so they could......... I'll leave it to your imagination and conjecture.

StockBar Dancers fit into the same category I believe. Many depend on something to keep them going: alcohol and/or......... With at least one dancer it has totally inhibited his ability to get it up for his second dance. If you are interested, I'll answer in a private e-mail, but not here. I don't want to "bad mouth" any individual dancers--most work too hard for me to harm them. And besides, I still enjoy watching them, even if I wouldn't do another lap dance.

What an excellent comprehensive review of the greatest boys for hire scene in North America.

I'm headed back to Montreal next month. Its such a great deal and even coming all the way from CA it's too good to pass up.

Also really helps when you have a superb hotel at an unbelievable price.

I gotta reccomend, if you're going to Montreal - check out Loews Hotel Vogue... its easily one of the top 10 hotels in Canadam probably the best in Montreal. I stated there for US$60 in January (brrr) and got a price of US$72 for April (using Priceline.com).

I know this isn't a hotel site but its so nice having some of those perfect boys over to a gorgeous room.
