Mindful of recent unpleasantness let me be general but try to raise a possibly useful point. It's often asked: "are the reviews here really valuable?" I tend to answer yes but with the caveat that they are highly subjective, none of us share exactly the same taste, expectation, pleasure points and so on, and of course escorts have off nights.

 

That said I do notice there is a clique here (as there is apt to be on all message boards), which indulges in a lot of cyber mutual stroking. I'm not sure how objective the reviews of the escorts in this clique are. There is something in the nature of people to hype their pals.

 

I know a lot of men who have been clients of the most popular and pushy escorts here. Because of their candid reports I have steered clear of those escorts. These clients, noting the escorts' popularity were unwilling to write less than highly enthusiastic reviews so they didn't review the experiences.

 

Now, I don't mean to say the escorts were rip offs, rude, dirty or nasty. I mean in the opinions of these clients that they were professional but disappointing, and in a number of cases over priced for what they could deliver. Among complaints I've heard consistently are age and cock size misrepresentations that were noticeable, and some less than enthusiastic participation in acts that their ads (and reviews) seemed to promise.

 

By all means less than wonderful chemistry happens, so do off nights as I mentioned, and I'm not sure I'd want to be an escort visiting some of my friends or me (without plenty of warning, some GAB and a bit of Viagra to boot, and I might asked to be blind folded). Still ... I wonder. The cheering section for about seven or so escorts who post a lot makes me suspicious. No one need be or will be sad, but those are seven I'll give a pass to.

 

In my own experiences with two energetic self hypers with fans here I found the guys personable, likeable but overpriced and not thrilling, anywhere from 5 to 10 years older than they said, and in one case with a notably smaller endowment than had been cited (in his ads but also in some reviews). I didn't review them. I might be in a small minority of their average customers. I might be too locked into an age range (twinks to the max) and am apt to fetishize cock size -- for all I know those tastes robbed me of transcendent sex with those guys.

 

But take all this for what it's worth (probably nothing). Escorting is a biz as we are told all the time on these boards, and managing your image is part of biz. But for the client who counts pennies to afford a gentleman caller, a great self propagandist with vocal allies who turns out to be a so-so sex partner can be a serious and costly disapointment.

I'm not a particularly smart person; rather average in most respects. But I've been around long enough to note that Rick Munroe is one of the first escorts to get really involved in this site and become one of the "boys." He's been a fascinating presence for a long time and one of the real reasons to return here. Has it been self-promotion? DUH! Of course. Has it been mostly sincere? Of course. He's a good guy, extremely witty, great conversationalist and quick witted. I dare say he even enjoyed just being one of the crowd.

 

It's inevitable that things start to wear a little thin. Even Seinfeld got a little tired after the 6th or 7th season. I don't in any way mean to say that Rick is done or tired or over the hill. Far from it; there seems to be a lot of juice left in that pretty dick and the ass is standing up to the test of time. Yet, people get tired of the "same ole thing" and the "same ole thing" gets tired of the "same ole shit." When Rick started expressing his disgust with the way the message center was going I think it was his way of breaking out of the pack. Critics of Rick Munroe were unheard of in the early days of this site, but I think people have come to put unrealistic expectations on him and perhaps he's collaborated with them and put them on himself as well.

 

I for one have enjoyed him immensely. He's a fascinating man, along with Derek, who has brought a lot of pleasure and fun into peoples' lives. He's given me much confidence and I haven't even seen him as a client in a couple of years.

 

Rick, as long as you hang around, I'll be reading, laughing and enjoying. You, of course, are just human and delightfully so. But if you decide to move on, I'll understand. Change is inevitable.

I don't know most of the people who post here, either the ones who "get" me or the one(s) who love to knock me. I do get amusement from the bitter one(s) (like yourself/strangelove/nosepick, et al...who may or may not all be the same person) who vehemently attack me for writing funny or sexy posts on an escort website, or for just being myself & having a sense of humor about it. If you do a search of the over 600 (yikes!) posts I've authored, you'll find diverse topics such as etiquette, hygiene, health, current events, pop culture, politics, travel, relationships, family, etc., and (big shock) S-E-X.
