Conscious of the fact that I may be kicking off the first controversy on the new message center, I'll ask a question I've been dying to post forever:

 

Who are everyone's favorite totally masculine/straight acting escorts?

Age/race/stats unimportant.

 

I realize some will take me to task about my definition and characterization of what "straight acting and appearing" means. Nevertheless, I'll assume that dear readers of these boards with a taste for guys similar to mine know exactly what I mean. I don't "use the term masculine and leave it at that" for one simple reason--many escorts I've hired who describe themselves that way are anything but. Some I've had some pretty awesome sexual experiences with, others not. But as the consumer, hey, classification is in the eye of the beholder...I like what I like and I seek that out. My terminology isn't any different than those who describe their preference as "twinks", "jocks", and a whole host of other subjective terms.

I know exactly what you mean. “Straight acting” may be a bit of an oxymoron when you’re talking about sex between two men, but it’s still a valid descriptor. For me it has a lot to do with the voice and the way they carry themselves.

Come on Unicorn…now you’re just being difficult. :-) “Acting” is just another form of “action.” I never was much good at English, so I don’t know what either form is called. If you assume his actions are contrived, then he is acting in a manner unnatural to him. If he’s just being himself, then his actions are natural. I personally don’t care which it is as long as he doesn’t blow my fantasy

 

Now, for me, and it’s purely subjective, “straight acting” does require that a guy be masculine, but there’s more to it. He has to appear low-maintenance. No waxed eyebrows; no blonde-tipped, perfectly gelled hair; no skin-tight clothes; nothing too trendy. He has to carry himself in a confident and masculine manner. In other words, if he weren’t there to fuck me silly, he would never set my gaydar off.

 

There are also plenty of masculine men who are not straight acting. Body builders can be plenty masculine, and I know that many straight men are body builders, but it isn’t part of my straight boy fantasy. Another extreme example are leather daddies. They are hyper-masculine but hardly straight acting.

 

Again, it’s all subjective, but I’m with Squirt. If you’re into them…you know one when you see one.

When I was in grade school I was called sissy and by high school it was queer and faggot.

Jeff, you hit the nail on the head. Couldn't have put it better myself. Whether it's illusion or not, it's all part of the fantasy for me. A guy can be hot as hell, but if he opens his mouth and sounds like Harvey Fierstein...forget it.
